Northeast Pavement Series & Poughkeepsie Speedway Adopt Burris Tire Rules
The Burris National Speedway Series has added the Northeast Pavement Series and Poughkeepsie Speedway (NY) to the growing list of tracks and clubs nationwide seeking a karter friendly solution to the tire question. Both series recently adapted a Burris tire rule to eliminate the need for chemical tire preps and other tire questions, thereby saving the karters money and improving competition.
“Having the NE Pavement Series and Poughkeepsie Speedway come on board to our family of tracks is a real bonus to all parties involved” states Mike Burris. “We’ve once again proven the BNSS tire rules simplify the setup choices and save the karters money; both of which should help grow karting in this area.”
“There were those that were skeptical at first,” stated John Villano, series director of the NE Pavement Series and Poughkeepsie Speedway promoter, “After a day of practice everyone got a handle on the kart set-up for the tires and all seemed happy. Now that we have a series race and a weekly race in everyone seems to be very happy with the results.”
“The biggest thing is the savings for the karter; the Burris tire is more consistent and last much longer than other brands and we are already seeing the savings after just one series race! We have gotten comments such as " nice to go to the second race and not have to buy tires,” continues Villano.
Featuring about 16 classes with both standard karts and champ karts, the Northeast Pavement Series is a five race series among tracks in NY, CT, NH, and ME. Poughkeepsie Speedway is one of the tracks on the NE Pavement Series schedule which also runs a local point series.
