WELCOME TO QASDEN

The Principality of Qasden is a sport-loving metropolis located in the southwestern portion of Atlantian Oceania. Under the authorities of Prince Franz-Pierre and PM Rees Häther, who govern from the capital, Turkish Van City (better known as T.V. City), the 'pality maintains relatively well relations with fellow regional nations. The economy is mostly entertainment and tourism-driven, while information and hospitality come close behind.

Citizens of Qasden enjoy frolicking amongst the streets of cities such as T.V. City, Port Harston, Taxson, Qad City, and so on. When it comes to sports, however, things start to get real. Nearly every Qasdonian plays or enthusiastically watches some form of sport, with athletic programs such as Association Football, Basketball, and Tennis leading the nation in popularity. The 'pality is home to many wonderful venues, such as the Royal T.V. Stadium, an all-around mecca for Qad sports, located in the heart of T.V. City. Citizens enjoy these friendly competitions in an almost eternal spring-like weather, with glorious rainy days and gloomy sunny days making up the usual forecasts. Certain places in Qasden, like the mountainous southwestern cities of Fyre and Destiny, experience more of an early spring and autumn pattern, with snow falling at least once every other month. Trains and planes are the best ways to travel between each of the venues, and stray cats on public vehicles are heavily common (so be aware of that, people with cat allergies).

OOC Info/Experience

Prior to the beginning of summer 2016, the user behind Qasden had strolled around NS for a year and a half, blindly unknown of the world of forums. After finally discovering it, he created the 'pality to avoid prejudice in his main country's no-forum region. After working with scorinators a bit and researching some of NSS's past events, Qasden finally said "screw it" and began his scorinating career just a few weeks after discovering NS Sports.

First there was the Qasden Open, a small and easily forgettable archery tournament that became inspiration to the development of NSAO, or the NationStates Archery Open. After a few association football friendlies here and there, Qasden co-hosted the fifth Maple Leaf Bowl, a Canadian football tournament, alongside Kep (now known as Kebec). Afterwards, not really any other tournaments were hosted in Qasden, other than maybe a few guest clubs for the domestic Prince's Cup soccer tournament. He did, however, scorinate games for Runner Cup 7 (for Falatulu), Northwestern Cup 2 (for Savalen), the Mercedinian Open (for Mercedini), the IAC (for Bonesea), and most recently, WBC 38 (for Newmanistan),along with the already-discussed friendlies. This does not even mention the domestic leagues and tournaments of the Qailpyme Sporting Alliance. Back into his groove, Qasden hosted the 26th World Lacrosse Championships, his first major solo job. His most recent hosting accomplishment was the 23rd International Basketball Championships, co-hosting with the amazing Abaja.

Format

Including all those good regional restrictions, the proposed signup format for the tournament would br for those who reside in AO prior to the initial thread opening and those who participated in one of the 5 previous AOHC tournaments who rejoin the region with high intents on staying. Pending on space, nations may be allowed a maximum of 1 pup per user.

The lowest preferable amount for this tournament is 12, while the maximum is around 40. The following are the ideal formats for AOHC6-

12- 3 groups of 4; triple RR; top 2 plus 2 best 3rd-placers advance
16- 4 groups of 4; triple RR; top 2 advance
18- 3 groups of 6; double RR; top 2 advance
24- 4 groups of 6; double RR; top 4 advance
28- 4 groups of 7; double RR; top 4 advance
30- 6 groups of 5; double RR; top 2 plus 4 best 3rd-placers advance
32- 8 groups of 4; triple RR; top 2 advance
36- 6 groups of 6; double RR; top 2 advance plus 4 3rd-placers advance
40- 8 groups of 5; double RR; top 2 advance

For knockouts, formats 16, 24, 28, 32, and 40 will have an A1vB2-type seeding. For formats 12, 18, 30, and 36, seeding will have the advancees ranked from 1 to 8/16, and then 1v8/16.

Scorinator/Tiebreakers/RP Bonuses amd such

Xkoronate 0.3.3 with NSFS3 settings will be used. RP Bonuses will be generous to those who provide a roster and/or RPs.

Tiebreakers will proceed as followed for advancees-
1. Place Finish (for seeding)
2. Points
3. Goal Difference
4. H2H Goal Difference
5. Goals For
6. Drawing of Lots

Ah, yes yes.

For each win in the group stage, the victorious team will earn 3 points. Draws, worth 1 point, will be allowed for the group Stages ONLY. During the knockouts, overtimes and shootouts will be made in exchange for ties.

Do you intend to actually start this or was this simply a fleeting idea?

As this bid has been up for one month uncontested, I am going to go ahead and executively declare Qasden as official host of AOHC 6. No contesting bids will be accepted from this point forward for a period of one month. If AOHC 6 has not begun in one month, then bidding will be re-opened.

If signup numbers permit Qasden has the right to add a co-host, though i doubt that will be required as typically the numbers for AOHC are lower than AOCAF.
