Please, stop letting guests post in here. The only guests we ever get are spam advertisers.

Posted by: Bettia Jul 25 2006, 10:53 AM
I second that motion. Those guys are bloody annoying. Reclaim the Genral Discusison section! We have nothing to fear except... erm, whatever.

Posted by: Starblaydia Jul 25 2006, 11:31 AM
You think it's annoying, try being the one who has to delete them all.

Posted by: Falcania Jul 25 2006, 04:21 PM
Exactly. Disable guest posting and the deleting work shall disappear.

Would if I bloody could tongue.gif

Personally, I'm all for trying to find a way to send a nasty lil virus or shock back across the internet to the computer of the jerks that do this crap. I suppose that's a little far-fetched, but a man can dream though. *sighs*

You think its bad when they are posting as guests.... You should see how many of these spam bots register every day to join the forums as a MEMBER?!?

Posted by: Khazaron Jul 28 2006, 06:48 AM
They register? I didn't know that was possible with spam-bots.

Posted by: Quirrith Jul 29 2006, 01:33 PM
Some of them are downright sickening. No, I don't wanna see cum shot and big dicks. Nor do I want to here about your lewd encounters with some guy your not even married to.

Posted by: Khazaron Jul 29 2006, 01:42 PM
My thoughts exactly Quirrith. Part of me wonders what in the world would draw them to put such adds in AO, then I realize that they are spam threads and don't really operate under any modes of reason that would be recognizable outside of a Lovecraft novel.

Posted by: Quirrith Jul 29 2006, 01:48 PM
Right. I wouldn't be as ticked if they were just the occasional "Buy ___!", but kids view this forum and they may go home to their moms saying "Hey! Guess what I saw today!"

And no, I don't consider myself a kid even though I'm only 14. tongue.gif

Hey, as far as I am concerned, maturity is what matters the most. Somebody can be 14 and be a lot more mature than most of the people my age have been there whole lives. It's all in how you handle yourself. smile.gif

Posted by: Quirrith Jul 29 2006, 02:40 PM
well, um, my nookz0rz wil pwn ur matturitie.

Yes, I definately think that guests should not be able to post. And I'm still wondering how they got away posting (typed) pornography without being legally bound to put a warning.

And, something which has nothing to do with this:

How many posts do I need to make my own member title?

Posted by: Khazaron Jul 29 2006, 02:58 PM
I think the posts you need are somewhere around 200 or so. That's about how many I had before I changed to what I currently use.

As for the guests getting away with the spam, I think the main reason might have something to do with them being spam-bots. I'd be suprised if there was ever an actual person behind those annoying adds.

Also, I didn't mean the maturity remark to be a put-down on you, I was actually trying to compliment you on how you handled yourself. That is unless you were joking, it's kind of hard for me to tell the subtext of people when they leave messages online.

One last note though, a question really: What made you want to create a nation that is past-tech? Is it a love of history or just for fun?

Posted by: Quirrith Jul 29 2006, 03:29 PM
That was a joke too. As in omg i pwn ur maturittie n00bzorz.

And the smiley faces on Every. Single. Ad. probably has something to do with it being a bot too.

Well, at first it was gonna be medeval, then I thought that was way to cliched. I like the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rococo architecture, so I made a nation that is in the Age of Enlightenment and German\Belgian. That eventually contained Dutch too. I wanted to make a German British Empire pretty much, where people still cared for honour more than winning, and where Aristocracy still ruled. Then my culture eventually became http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunmer, but without slaves or being elvish. Xenophobic, distrusting, but...very nice to friends. It's a very complicated culture that would take an enormous post to explain fully, so just know that were xenophobic (Well, we're not afraid of foreigners, we just dislike them), but nice if we know you. And we would rather lose a duel and die than lose a duel and live.

Posted by: Khazaron Jul 29 2006, 03:51 PM
Sounds interesting. You mentioned Dunmer, from Morrowind, have you had a chance to play Oblivion yet? If so, what'd you think of it? I myself still need to pick it back up, haven't played it in over a month or so.

Posted by: Quirrith Jul 29 2006, 03:54 PM
I own it, but I didn't check my computer, so I need a better video card before I can play it. Morrowind is fine now with all the mods I download anyway/

Yep, another porn thread.

Hi,
I don't know what other topic to post this in, since this is a question thats sorta reverse of the topic of the thread:

1. Is there a password I'd need to input/ask for if I wanted to join the region?

2. If I wasn't interested in war, or any of that, do I have to participate? I'm more of a fan of basing a nation off of NSEconomy... wink.gif

3. Is there a 'puppet policy?' (i.e.: 1 per human; no new puppets; etc.)

4. I've read through other public parts of the forum, read the flag policy, etc... are there any other considerations?

Thanks, and I'm sorry in advance if I'm breaking any sort of rule by posting this here.

1. Is there a password I'd need to input/ask for if I wanted to join the region?

No. Just sign up in NS and PM Vilita to get access.

2. If I wasn't interested in war, or any of that, do I have to participate? I'm more of a fan of basing a nation off of NSEconomy...

No. You don't have to take part in any RPs you don't want to.

3. Is there a 'puppet policy?' (i.e.: 1 per human; no new puppets; etc.)

Dunno.

4. I've read through other public parts of the forum, read the flag policy, etc... are there any other considerations?

What do you mean??

No password needed to join,

Puppet policy is as follows:

If your puppet is active at any point, they can stay. If you want to have more than one, then they should be active at some point. If you want land for your puppet, you have to RP the acquisition of that land.

Pretty simple. Don't use the region as a place to store 50 puppets that don't do anything other than harvest people for no reason. Use the region "Atlantis" for that smile.gif

Other than that, we're a very common sense region. If you use common sense, you probably won't be breaking any rules.
