QUOTE
These religious heretics are an afront to God! There actions are illegal by the decree of this Senate and of the government of Dartace. Any action taken by our security forces is in accordance with the law. Our way of life will not be threatened by violent opposition to the sacred laws of our Church.

The fate of the civil rights group has not yet been discussed, although many political analysts believe the group will be outlawed due to the sensitive nature of the new 'Religious Cults Act.'

Lates news: The Zerinian tribal group known as Ulej have once again defied demands from the Senate to disband it's religous practices. Budyan Gonlin, the tribal Chief called President Prince Dexter "a tyrannical and viscious man" when he addressed a crowed in the Zeral town of Yosmin.

Gonlin agitated the 4,000 strong crowed by calling on them to ignore demands from the authorities which call on the tribe to "disband all religious practices exept in accordance with the state."

Governer J.P Edwix ordered police to disband the crowed by authority given to him from the senate. As police moved in protesters began to resist calls to go home, attacking police lines.

Earlier this after noon police made a series of arrests along the entire island, taking into custody 13 leaders of the Ulej tribe. There whereabouts was kept secret and what would happen to them is unknown. The 'Religious Cults Act' states that all religious prisoners can be tried and executed by a government appointed court.

Human rights groups have called on the international community to clamp down on what they call "illegal attacks on civil rights" after reports that members of this tribe, who, over the last 100 years have reduced in numbers from 20,000 to only 7,000, were being executed by Security Forces.

Other News: Security forces were called to defend the Senate House after reports from the Secret State Police that members of the Ulej tribe were planning a violent protest.

The Government of Dartace would like to inform the region that major military operations have begin in the area of Ilebdej (Ileli) after resistence fighters of the illegal religious tribal group Ulej took up defensive positions.

The area in blue is where military operations are taking place at present. So far 5,000 Soldiers of the The Internal Security Serivce Detachment group Alpha have been deployed in the area.

The engagment has been in three areas of the areas. In the north west of the area, in the centre and in the south east.

Unfortunatly, in the centre of the area some of the rebels defensive positions could not be attacked from the ground, so our internal security special forces were deployed from the air.

In the north west of the area the rebels have taken positions within highly populated area, and thus far our forces have only managed to block off the area while they await news from the senate and from our regional allies.

In the south east battles have been raging on now for several hours, but our forces have not yet been able to change the position of the rebels, in one area tanks had to be deployed and our forces had to retreat. The reason for this was because the rebels are being protecting by the populace and we need further discussion on these matters before we give any orders to our troops.

In one fire fight special forces did manage to take control of a building in the heart of a built up town which had been seized by rebels. No soldiers were killed in the fighting and 4 rebels were detained for questioning.

I have been directed by the Privy Council to ask for guidance in these delecate matters. My government would appreciate reassurance on the matters involving civilians and/or our military opertions.

The Vilitan Government has issued a brief statement calling for a temporary end to the persecution of members of the Ulej Tribe. The Hierarchy of the VOIA Intelligence Agency has departed Lieno and should arrive in Dartace in a few hours to investigate further into the matter. A fully capable team will be remaining in Lieno to continue the investigation on the death of Emperor Theodore Vii

My government has instructed me to inform the Vilitian representative that no such halt in our military operations will happen in the forseable future. As of yet, we have not bee provided with a clear reason to halt our actions. We are fighting criminals, who have adopted criminal methods to defend a crime.

The peoples of Soul Expression are saddened by this current situation and desire to see a quick resolution of this situation. We would like to offer our services to mediate between the peoples of Dartace and the Ulej tribe. This is in the hope reaching diplomatic accords before the situation escalates.

Jon Wyvern: Although sadden to hear of the tension between the Dartace government and Ulej Tribe, Aethyrea’s takes no position on the incident, as this is clearly a domestic dispute, and not an international matter.
