Falcon switched off the TV. It was done. As he spoke, the trim cruisers of the FN drew into harbour, and the buzz of dockworkers around the passenger liners died down. He looked at his watch. The press conference was in 10 minutes. Invitations had been issued to all powers in the region, should they wish to attend. He poured himself a lime cordial, serruptitiously slipping in a shot of vodka. He blasted it back, picked up his cane, and strolled out of the building. |

The Falcanian broadcast arrived unexpected in Latao. The only reaction of the NEC (not officially pronounced): Falcon lost his face.
The official declaration might contain some of the diplomatic standard "but-kissing" empty phrases, such as "we're happy that no one died" :-) |
