Release from the desk of Noz-Tf

Here is the Az-cz roster for World Cup xXxI:

Federation name: Az-Cz football Federation
Team Nicknames: Gnomes, Adventurers, Robbers, Pinkos
Team Colors: Pink and Green

Roster:

Coach: Caine Hawdon, Bazalonia

Former Coach of the Bazalonian National team, played an integral part in
establishing the early days of Bazalonian soccer and helped push them to the
heights they are at now. Really established his international reputation by helping guide the gnomes all the way to the second round of world cup 31.

Special Advisor: Khim Azanulbizarn

Under Khim, Starblaydia made it through to the Last-sixteen from World Cups
25 to 30, finshing First, Second and Third in his time there, as well as
advancing to the Second Round and Quarter-Finals. His most recent performance before coming to Az-cz was a second place finish losing to Bedistan after an winning every match preceeding the finals. Displayed his tactical genius a number of times during the cup.

With the delays to the start of the AOCAF, the Gnomes will be treating this as a warmup to World Cup 32 and sending almost their full roster, barring two young players as experiments and Zax-Im being held out because of his stabbing at the end of the world cup.

Forwards:

#9 - Stanleyinho

Height: 6'6"
Weight: 180 lbs
Club Team: Red Dwarf Rangers
Age: 27

Stanleyinho and his brother Hubertino are not native Az-Czzers but both have immigrated from Brazil at a young age. Az-cz disapproves of hired hands
playing for the national team but as the boys are long time citizens there is
no problem. Along with being non native Az-czzers they are the two tallest
players on the team. Stanleyinho is a wonderful striker. His ability to beat
defenders is his strongest attribute. He has blazing speed and an ability to
go around other players is hard to stop. He does have good heading abilities,
but they aren't as strong as might be expected for someone of his height
because there aren't many players in the -League who can match up for him in terms of height. His shot is also quite impressive as he can generally pick
out where the ball is going to go. He rarely bombs them over the net like
many players do. Was a key part of the Baptism of Fire championship and the
Az-cz run to the second round of the Cup of Harmony.

#19 - Bub-Rub

Height: 4'11"
Weight: 155 lbs
Club Team: Vertigo Slimes
Age: 30

While Stanleyinho is the star non Az-czzer striker in the -League Bub-Rub is
the star Az-czzer. The contrast of styles between these two players is
suprisingly small considering the physical differences. Bub-Rub is both
stronger and faster than Stanleyinho, which is hard to believe. Like most Az
-Czid athletes he has learned to use his awesome athleticism to make up for
his lack of height. The native danger sense that Az-czzers have makes him
even more dangerous. More so than most Bub-Rub has tuned into this ability,
which allows him to know when to shoot and when to pass so as to avoid
tackles and blockers. Was a starting member of the Az-cz Baptism of Fire
championship team.

#15 - Ox-Rx

Height: 5'5"
Weight: 185 lbs
Club Team: Golem Golems
Age: 31

Seemingly matched with his club Ox-Rx is one of the two strikers on the Az-
czid national team from the Golem Golems. Quite large for an Az-czzer he puts
his size to good use in league player. He is usally able to outmuscle most
players to get to the ball and blast his shots past the keeper. He isn't as
fast as either of the two star forwards but his speed is still quite good.

#14 - Uz-Gz

Height: 5'2"
Weight: 130 lbs
Club Team: Golem Golems
Age: 25

The interplay between Uz-Gz and Ox-Rx is quite an interesting one. While Ox-
Rx uses his strength to win possession Uz-Gz is the master of the counter
attack. He doesn't have the strength to win challenges that Ox-Rx does but h
e is a master with the ball at his feet. He is the strongest dribbler on the
team and in the open field is almost impossible to stop.

#16 - EE-Or

Height: 5'6"
Weight: 153 lbs
Club Team: Winterkill Ghosts
Age: 19

Ee-Or is the future of Az-cz strikers. Although his tecnhique is still developing he's already a star amongst -League strikers. He just missed making the squad for the world cup and he is quickly becoming one of the players that you have to constantly mark to stay on top. He might well get some action here in this AOCAF.

Midfielders:

#10 - Pizelkaxrovsky

Height: 5'9"
Weight: 170 lbs
Club Team: Burlock Jesters
Age: 25

Upon meeting Pizelkaxrovsky many people assume that he is not an ethnic Az-czzer. Many things about him are unorthodox, to be sure, but he is an Az-
czzer through and through. Coming from a family that eschewed social
conventions he has an interesting perspective on things. His name, far from
Az-czid standards and without the almost entirely prevalent hyphen, is just
one way in which he shows this oddness. He is also the most free wheeling and joking member of the Az-cz squad. He is the perfect face of a team called the Jesters. Usually this is an advantage but of the Az-Cz players he is the one most likely to do something outrageous in a game and get sent off. He has been ejected from games for things such as delay of games after excessive celebrations or sexual harassment of a Yang Knights fan in the middle of a game the Jesters were losing in the Shangri-la Cup. As for his play on the pitch Pizelkaxrovsky is a master creator. His vision is supreme in the -
League and he led the league in assists despite playing with two rather
average strikers on the Jesters. More so than even Bub-Rub he has honed his
extra senses and never seems to make a wrong decision. He is also the
freekick taker for the team and has a dazzling ability to place the ball
where it needs to go. He was the Golden Ball winner for best player in the
Baptism of Fire and advanced to the finals of the Legend Free Kick
competition during WCxXx. He is far and away the most talented Az-czzer and rivals the abilities of any player anywhere.

#8 - Hubertino

Height: 6'5"
Weight: 200 lbs
Age: 29
Club Team: Yang Knights

While his brother honed his skills as a goal poacher Hubertino learned to
play a much more balanced game. Hubertino is an all-around excellent player.
Hubertino can comfortably play anywhere in the midfield but most of his time
is spent in the defensive half of the midfield. Combined with Zax-im they
give the Yang Knights an incredibly strong defensive midfield, such that some
teams struggle even to get the ball to the back third of the Yang field, much
less scoring. His positioning and stamina makes it seem that he's always in
the right place, whether to make a saving tackle, corrale a looseball, or
recieve a pass.

#7 - Kn-Dg

Height: 5'4"
Weight: 140 lbs
Age: 20
Club Team: Yak Clerics

Kn-dg is rapidly developing and pushing the Yak Clerics towards previously
unreached heights at the top of the -League table. He mostly plays on the
wing using his speed to flash down the side to set up plays for the other
players or to find goals for himself. He is an incredible athlete and his skills are improving all the time. Already a star he could be the best player in -League in a few seasons. Even despite his relative youth, he's already earned the job as the main corner taker, quite an honor and a responsibility for someone so young. He was the leading scorer in the Baptism of Fire and is truly one of the best footballers in Az-cz. After Pizelkaxrovsky, he has been the second most impressive player in Az-czid football.

#11 - James Levesque

Height: 6'3"
Weight: 210 lbs
Club Team: Yak Clerics
Age: 19

Kn-Dg's strike partner and the son of former coach Roger Levesque, James
Levesque is a brilliant attacking player. He also has good size which can
cause considerable problems for the players around. That attacking pair is
setting the -League on fire and look to do the same in the world cup. With
his experience in the Cup of Harmony and a little bit in the last world cup
qualifying, Levesque seems to be much more comfortable playing at an
international level.

#13 - Lo-Ro

Height: 5'3"
Weight: 125 lbs
Age: 28
Club Team: Vertigo slimes

Lo-Ro is the new starting defensive midfielder. He didn't see much action in world cup 31 but with Zax-Im being injured he has been promoted to the starting line up for this AOCAF.

17 - Ip-Gp

Height: 5'3"
Weight: 120 lbs
Age: 20
Club Team: Darzog Mages

Ip-Gp has developed tremendously from the last tournament. He is a rising
star and is expected to see much more action this time around. He is one of
the better penalty takers and might see time if such a position is needed. Ip-Gp really made huge steps forward in World Cup 31 and is expected to be probably the key back up midfielder for this team.

#18 - Hmr-Pn

Height: 5'6"
Weight: 145 lbs
Age: 18
Club Team: Yak Clerics

Hmr-Pn came out of nowhere to make the team. He wasn't on the radar until
quite recently. He missed out on the Cup of Harmony, even though it was a
youth side. But his play in the midfield with Kn-Dg and James Levesque has
really improved greatly. He is mostly a central midfielder but can move
either direction. Like Ip-Gp last time, he's being brought along mostly for
experience, but might see some action.

#12 - Kez-Lor
Height:5'3"
Weight:135 lbs
Age: 22
Club Team: Toad Meadow Witches

Kez-Lor was the last player chosen for this team. He's also the first player ever called up from Toad Meadow Witches. He's taking Bn-Dg's spot on this team as an attacking midfielder as this team will probably become a bit more offensive in Zax-Im's absence. While he is a bit old to be getting his first call up, he could be a player on the World Cup squad down the line.

Defenders:

2 - Mario Nerazzurri

Height: 6'8"
Weight: 225 lbs
Age: 26
Club Team: Red Dwarf Rangers

Nerazzuri is the third of the giant non ethnic Az-czzers on the team. He is
however, 100% Az-czid. He is a third generation Az-Czzer and he fights to the nail for his beloved Pink & Green. Nerazzuri uses his height to good form to control the box. Arial attacks are basically doomed to failure against him
and he has a good ability to sniff out other attacks as well. Generally a
rock in defense. Nerazzurri is one of the leaders of the team, having
captained the squad in the Cup of Harmony.

3 - Ns-Ta

Height: 5'2"
Weight: 125 lbs
Age: 32
Club Team: Vertigo Slimes

Similar to Bub-Rub and Stanleyinho up front, Ns-Ta is the compliment to
Nerazzuri at the back. He doesn't have the height to control the air but he
has the speed and intellect to control the ground. He can read passes and
player movement incredibly well and always seems to be in the right place to
make a tackle or block a shot. His ability to lock down other teams goal
scorers has a great ability to get under others skins. He led the -League in
fouls commited against this year, for the fifth year in a row. Just a great
defender.

4 - Ml-Dni

Height: 5'7"
Weight: 150 lbs
Age: 33
Club Team: Golem Golems

Ml-Dni is a strong force from the left back. He plays solid defense, to be
sure, but alot of time he can be seen pushing up the field to aid in the
attack. He has a wonderful stamina which helps him get around the pitch. He
also has a wonderful ability to spring counter attacks. If he disposses a
player he often has a cross launched up field well before teams are ready to
defend.

20 - Haji-Me

Height: 6'0"
Weight: 195 lbs
Club Team: Red Dwarf Rangers
Age: 18

Haji-Me is huge as Gnome players go. Already at the ripe young age of 17 he
is proving to be a strong -League defender. He is both the youngest player on
the squad and the youngest starter. He has recently been purchased by the Red Dwarf Rangers and looks to benefit from a move to a top club. Developed
greaty during the recent season and the Cup of Harmony and looks to soon be the best defender in -League. With both Ns-Ta and Ml-Dni getting up in years his youth will be a great boost to the team. He has also shown an ability to get forward into the attack, which is why he has been chosen to start on the right back.

5 - At-Zm

Height: 5'7"
Weight: 150 lbs
Age: 31
Club Team: Yang Knights

At-Zm is the alternate defender. While no one aspect of his game truly shines
like the other four defenders he has no weaknesses as well. If a center back
is needed he can play there, if a wing back is needed he can do that and if
necessary he can venture into the midfield as well. He is a solid member of
the team and is certain to see time for the Gnomes.

6 - Kz-Kz

Height: 5'5"
Weight: 144 lbs
Age: 23
Club Team: Burlock Jesters

Kz-Kz is a brutally physical defender. His technique and positioning are good
but his ability to muscle other players around is his shining technique. His
mental control has improved and continues to do so, however he still does
have some tendency to commit silly fouls and he can lose his cool from time
to time. He is not quite a main player of the team, but against physical
opponents he might get an opportunity to show his skills.

21 - Du-Tre

Height: 5'7
Weight: 160 lbs
Age: 21
Club Team: Yak Clerics

Du-Tre is part of the youth movement at Yak Clerics who look to become the
dominant team in the -League. Du-Tre is a blazing fast defender who makes
plays that can spring the attack quite well. He tends to gamble to make
things happen but can be provide a huge spark from the back line when he
makes good plays.

Goalies:

1 - Gn-Lg

Height: 5'11"
Weight: 160 lbs
Age: 27
Club Team: Yang Knights

Gn-Lg is the second tallest ethnic Az-czzer on the team. Using his height and his keen senses Gn-Lg has already risen to the top of the league. Since taking over as the number one goalkeeper for the Yang Knights he has pushed them back to the top of the league. He is incredibly unflappable and has a good sense on penalties. He even made PK saves against both Stanleyinho and Pizelkaxrovsky in the last season. He gives his entire team a sense of
comfort that even if they make up theres still a good chance they'll be able
to withstand the attack.

23 - Fr-Tld

Height: 5'6"
Weight: 140 lbs
Age: 29
Club Team: Vertigo Slimes

Fr-Tld is the second Az-Czid keeper. He is a very good keeper and should Gn-
Lg miss a game for some reason Fr-Tld will be there to step in for him.
Should benefit from chances to get more international experience in this
upcoming cup.

Bu-Lv

Height: 5'2"
Weight: 130 lbs
Club Team: Yak Clerics
Age: 25

Bu-Lv is the former understudy for Gn-Lg at Yang Knights. He is a solid young
keeper who looks to improve greatly now that he has his own team to lead, and an improving one at that, in Yak Clerics. He is the youngest of the
goalkeepers. He expects to be third keeper for a while as both Gn-Lg and Fr-
Tld should remain with the team for many years.

Formations:

The standard formation for the Az-Cz national team is 4-5-1.
The starters are Stanleyinho up front, Kn-Dg and Levesque playing very
attacking midfielders, Pizelkaxrovsky in control in the middle and Zax-Im and
Hubertino in defensive midfield positions. Ml-Dni and Haji-Me are the wing
backs who often drift into the offense and Nerazzurri and Ns-Ta lock down the middle of the defense. The team also feels comfortable using a 3-5-2, or on occassion 3-4-3 formations. Despite the formation, 4-5-1, this is not
necessarily a defensive team. Kn-Dg, Levesque and Pizelkaxrovsky all provide
great offense and the defenders can chip in as well.

Representation from the -League Professional teams:

1. Yang Knights (3/5)
2. Red Dwarf Rangers (3/3)
3. Vertigo Slimes (1/4)
4. Golem Golems (1/3)
5. Burlock Jesters (1/2)
6. Clouds Harpies
7. Yak Clerics (2/5)
8. Darzog Mages (0/1)
9. Pagoda Ninjas
10. Toad Meadow Witches
11. Nightshadow Vampires
12. Basenji Werewolves
13. Terror Lichs
14. Sphinx Mummies
15. Winterkill Ghosts
16. Asp Vipers

I give my opponent permission to . . .

Do anything that takes you fancy, short of homicide.

Hypocria Squad - AOCAF XVII

Coach

Marcus Baxter
The man who lifted the AOCAF trophy as a player returns for a second stint at lifting it as a coach. In doing so he becomes the first man ever to coach the Hyppos at successive AOCAF tournaments. A reflection on his own abilities or on the hire and fire policy of the nation’s football authorities?

Squad

1. Alexei Lomaia (GK)
Now 34 but still undisputed number 1 for the national side. The attacking mentality of the side means the keeper is often kept very busy.

2. Evan Hunter (RB)
A right back who is solid defensively but looks uncomfortable when coming forward.

3. Bruno Espartero (LB)
Like his keeper Bruno is a veteran in the side. And although his days of bursting down the flank are in the past his left foot is still a potent weapon.

5. Nestor Drago (CB)
Imposing defender who debuted against Neu Amerika at the last tournament. It will be interesting to see how he copes with now being the senior partner at the heart of the defence.

6. Paval Ocella (CB)
Young uncapped centreback who is lightning quick. But he’s not the strongest around and is sometimes tempted into reckless challenges.

7. Nicky Baxter (RM)
The manager’s son has a lot to do to prove he is in the side on merit ahead of his first AOCAF.

4. Adam Bassano (CM)
Midfield player who likes to keep it simple and get the ball out wide to the wingers. He generally sits just in front of the back four but when he comes forward he has a bullet of a shot. Scored in the excellent second round win over rivals Nedalia four years ago.

11. Victor Razin (LM)
Tricky left footer who proved to be a constant thorn in the oppositions side in Lamoni four years ago. Showed an eye for goal to with strikes against Bazalonia and Bettia.

8. Carlo Molinari (RW)
The veteran forward is the nation’s all time leading AOCAF scorer with 11 goals. He scored 4 times in Lamoni and will be looking to add a few more in what is surely his last tournament. He captains the side.

9. Victor Morinas (CF)
Big, powerful six footer who leads the line well. The obvious target for all balls into the box. One of only two players with an AOCAF hattrick to their name for the Hyppos.

10. Alex Sousa (LW)
On his day Sousa can destroy any opponents. If only he had those days more often. A player who perhaps enjoys the superstar lifestyle too much. But he’s a proven match winner.

Reserves

Assorted nameless bench warmers.

Style

The now traditional +4.

"Who can we send for the new AOCAF?"

"You mean there's a new one?"

"Yes"

"We need to actually have named guys this time also"

"Ummm, oh yeh well, Spot Nielson is free that's one"

"We could also send the U21 team"

"No they will get practice by playing in other tourneys. I don't like the AOCAF for experience."

"Well sir you really have nobody else, we really don't have a real B team."

"Why not?"

"We don't have the player database for it, to create one would be to create so many new players it would be ridicoulous and we're lazy."

"Ok then what can we do?"

"Well I remember this one game where a man on a horse was able to stop the whole Schiavonian team from scoring for 88 minutes until the horse got sent off."

"Then what happened"

"Schiavonia scored like 5 times, very easy to score on just one man"

"I can't let that happen, what if the horse gets sent off?"

*Guy rushes in*

"I just got a phone call Ollins can play, nobody else wants to though"

*Rushes out*

"What about now? A goalie, horse and Nielson on the horse?"

"Deal"

Myrtannia Dryads AOCAF XVII Roster

user posted image

Stadium: Halosen National Stadium (Halosen)
League: Myrtannia Association of Football Clubs (MAFC)
Formation: 5-2-3
Style Modifier: The typical Gabino all-out attacking style (+5)

Head Coach: Rachell Gabino (36). After a rocky career as a player, Rachell Gabino has blossomed into one of Myrtannia's finest football managers/coaches. Guiding first the University of Blackheart, then coming on as an assistant for the Dryads, she got her first shot as national team manager in AOCAF XVI in Lamoni. Her new, all out attacking offense led the Dryads to their best group stage performance to date, going 4-1-0 in Group D, the only blemish a draw with the eventual tournament champions. This time, she hopes to build on that success as the Dryads enter AOCAF XVII ranked in the top ten for the first time.

Assistant Coaches -

Tocarra Khat (32) - A reserve forward in AOCAF XV, Khat retired from the MAFC early due to a chronic ligament injury in her striking leg. As a close friend of coach Gabino, she's been brought in to help mentor the forwards of the Dryads team, and to help things move along at a satisfactory rate. She was credited for helping the Myrtannia strikers improve in her first stint as assistant coach four years ago.

Filiberto Nedina (47) - The man who coined the phrase, "Shutting us out is like shooting squid in a barrel.". Started for the Dryads in AOCAFs XIII and XIV, and played an additional two years in MAFC afterward before officially retiring. Now as defense coach, Nedina looks to try and get the Dryads defense to stand up against the opposition, though with the attacking offense, it's difficult to see where that might happen. If Myrtannia is to advance past the quarterfinals, his lessons must be learned by the players in orange and blue.

Goal Keepers-

3. Rosario Zlotnik (21) - Blackheart FC. Zlotnik replaced Flo Krabel at Blackheart FC, and now takes over for the veteran as the Dryads' starting keeper. If he can play with the same level of intensity he has for the past four years in the MAFC (including setting the single-season record for clean sheets last year), Myrtannia will be able to keep the ball out of the net in their back third. Some critics have claimed that he may not perform well under the pressure of starting at the AOCAF level, but only the matches will reveal the truth.

1. Janey Lokan (19) - Univ. of Blackheart

Defenders
9. Orpha Mega (31) - Gohanda. Reigning 'Queen of Myrtannian Defense'. Is the defensive leader for the Dryads, and will be out on the pitch once again to guide the play in the back third of the pitch. As the most experienced starting defender, she'll be looked to by the Dryads Army to help create offensive opportunities through the stingy, gutsy defense she's become famous for in the MAFC.

31. Tamar Ristaino (28) - FC Rajaff. A defender whom Nedina says has 'guts, brains, and a whole lot of bravado'. Continually in the MAFC's top three in caps, she finished third last season, and made the MAFC All-League squad for the sixth season in a row.

8. Charolette Marrington (31) - Halosen City. Tied with Orpha Mega for being the oldest starting defender, Marrington will need to step up her game if she's to keep her starting spot in the rotation. Rumors have been circulating that Lenny Ditucci might be a lock to replace her if she falters.

5. Amado Ugaitafa (20) - Halosen City
6. Lenny Ditucci (19) - Univ. of Fergot-Skalatur
40. Machelle Burzlaff (27) - FC Rajaff

Midfielders
14. Daisey Martignago (33) - Salahadin City. Decidedly the top midfielder on the team, and expected to help out on both sides of the pitch. Could be dangerous if she gets into a corner kick situation. She has had more goals result from her expertly aimed corners than any other midfielder in MAFC history. Continues to provide a positive boost in a spot where the Dryads have at times faltered in the past.

2. Marti Gabeline (22) - Skalatur Athletic. Having spent AOCAF XVI as a reserve, Gabeline will see her first starting action in AOCAF XVII. Replacing the much criticized Iesha Alimo, Gabeline's quiet, cool, and collected mindset may be a major boon to the Dryads.

8. Sarita Longknife (20) - Portland Lumberjacks
29. Shantia Gip (15) - Siggurd Jarlson High School

Forwards

7. Dania Figary (32) - Mari City. The captain of the Dryads for a third consecutive tournament, Figary is already a living legend in Myrtannian football. She's played her best in the knockouts, scoring goals in tough matches, and remains cool and calm on the pitch. AOCAF XVI saw Figary rise to the occasion again, as she became Myrtannia's all-time leading goal scorer in international play, surpassing former teammate Deeann Massetti. This included an extra-time hat trick that gave Myrtannia a Ro16 win over ASMV. Now, she'll take the pitch again in the hopes of leading Myrtannia deeper than the Quarterfinals.

65. September Rollock (29) - Blackheart FC. Rollock is perhaps the best forward on the roster behind Figary, and could be next in line for captaincy if Figary retires after this tournament. She figures to play a bigger role in the attacking offense, and has the talent to lead Myrtannia in goals scored this time around. Whether she will or not is up in the air. Opponents shouldn't overlook her because of this, however, as she's become known as a master of 'sneak goals' in the MAFC.

22. Rozalynn Gabino (27) - Halosen United. Younger sister of retired Dryads/MAFC veteran Rachell Gabino, and dubbed the 'future of Myrtannian football'. Another solid member of the 'Strikers Squadron' as the Dryads Army is now calling Myrtannia's national team forwards. While she's been in the shadows compared to Figary, she's still a dangerous striker - fast and accurate.

11. Myong Tuman (26) - Vanhaanen - MAFC's Newcomer of the Year eight years ago, Tuman has developed into a solid supporting-cast striker after two AOCAFs. She won't get as many shots as Figary or Gabino, but she can still make the most of her opportunities when given a chance to do so.

19. Hettie Miyagishima (19) - Mari City. Miyagishima is a member of the next generation of Dryads strikers, and is fast growing into a household name in the United Isles. Four years ago, she led the Myrtannia Nymphs to the title in the first AO U-21 cup, famous for a pink knit hat she wore during their title run. Minus the hat, she's still a very dangerous young forward, and will look to make a name for herself on the big stage at last.

10. Marlo Nockles (21) - Vanhaanen
12. Kala Trentz (20) - Univ. of Blackheart
13. Nidia War (22) - Mari City
15. Zora Leckington (20) - Damascos
18. Jettie Cassetty (15) - Siggurd Jarlson HS.

(Starters' numbers are in blue)
