Hypocria Squad - AOCAF XXI

Coach

Javi Chavez
As a player Chavez helped his native Starblaydia to the title at World Cup 28 and as a coach he led Corinthian Spirits to the Starblaydi league championship. He was the Autocracy’s Director of Elite Football before taking over as a national coach when Marcus Baxter stepped down. Added an AOCAF triumph to his already impressive CV four years ago.

Squad

1. Georgi Kutasi (GK)
Athletic goalkeeper whose often kept on his toes by the Hyppos‘ notoriously leaky defence. Described by Ricardo Kindelan, probably the Autocracy’s finest keeper, as one of the best he’s ever seen. High praise indeed.

2. Sacha Kajetan (RB)
Talented fallback currently on the books of Hypocrium City. Kajetan’s lightning breaks down the flank were a common sight in the Hyper League last season. Although he occasionally seems to forget he’s actually a defender.

3. Andrey Teale (LB)
Another attacking fallback who’d rather spend his time further up the pitch.

5. Attila Kordan (CB)
Towering defender with real strength in the air. Prone to lapses in concentration and the occasional rash challenge. But then again, aren’t they all?

6. Paval Ocella (CB)
He may be approaching his 36th birthday but the Partizan Drissa and national team skipper and senior man at the back is still an important cog in the side. An excellent reader of the game but lacking in pace.

4. Craig Marilier (CM)
A midfield player in the mould of former captain Adam Bassano. He likes to keep play simple and get the ball out wide to the wingers as quickly as possible.

7. Gareth Black (RM)
Fast tracked into the national team setup following Nicky Baxter’s international retirement. Black plays on the right of a front three for Partizan Drissa, but has adjusted well to a more conventional midfield four.

8. Rafael Marica (CM)
A midfield player who just loves to break late into the box, as shown by his impressive goal scoring record goal. Hypocrium City once paid 5.5 million draxals for the 16 year old Marica, a record fee for a teenager.

11. Ruben Viera (LM)
The 26 year old Pylos Reavers winger Viera has a cultured left foot and serves up some excellent ammunition for the strikers. Scored the opening goal in the final four years ago.

9. Clifton Ongondo (CF)
The powerful forward may not have the best scoring record but his sheer presence up front is crucial. Scored twice at the last AOCAF including an oh-so-important goal against Starblaydia in the quarter final.

10. Marcus Del Toro (CF)
The latest prospect to roll out of the national academy. Del Toro is quick, two footed and has a brute of a shot. Former national coach Marcus Baxter believes the young forward is going to be world class. Where better to prove him right?

Reserves

Assorted nameless bench warmers.

Style

The now traditional ‘not quite as adventurous as Bettia but still jolly attacking‘ +4.

Formation

Chavez made the controversial decision to axe Baxter’s tried and tested 4-3-3 for a more standard 4-4-2 formation. And with him being a Starblaydi you can expect to see a diamond take shape in the midfield with Marilier playing just in front of the defence and Marica in the hole behind the strikers.

An Blascaod Mor shall be sending an eighteen man squad to Lamoni with the following eleven players as the first choice team.

GK: Tomás O'Neil
RB: Braden Doyle
LB: Kenny Krouger
CB: George O'Sullivan
CB: Patty O'Shea
RM: Patrick O'Donovan
LM: Donald O'Donnell
CM: Dougal McGuire
CM: Patrick Doyle
FC: Muris O'Sullivan
FC: Tomás O'Sullivan

And the seven subs will be;

GK: Tomás Hardy
CB: Ciarán Mac an Bhainbh
RB or LB: Fearchar O'Echtighearn
CM: Risteárd MacGeraghty
RM or LM: Maitiú MacGeraghty
FC: Patsy-Mathúin An Filla
FC: Ailín Mac Giolla Ruaidh

The team will play in a yellow and green kit once Sorthern Northland sportswear company Asal éide spóirt get round to make it.

I Give My Opponent Permission
(and actively encourage them) To:
====================
Choose My Scorers
Yellow card my players
Red card my players
Injure my players
Possibly GodMod Other Events (PM either An Blascaod Mor or Sorthern Northland on NS if you want to)
====================

Style: +5
An Blascad Mor will naively try to score one more than you.

RPing notes.

An Blascaod Mor is a tiny nation which is proud just to represent itself on an international scale. Even a 7-0 thrashing will be deemed a success if someone who had never heard of the country before learns of it (and the local pub is good, even a clean sheet or a goal will merit a national holiday). All 143 citizens of the island will be at the tournament supporting the team and will be about as load as 143 people (minus the 17 players) can be. Neutral fans are also welcomed with open arms by the ABM support. A large number (roughly 1,500) of Sorthern Northland will also be there to support their neighbours. The nation also leads a perhaps primitive lifestyle lacking things such as roads (and therefore all forms of transport except donkey and boats), TV's, computers and electricity and the like. This is not to say they are unaware of these things and find them foreign as they can be found easily should an Islanders visit the Sorthern Northland mainland. The players will though find big city's and playing in a ground that is more than just a patch of grass a new experience.

After the Banana Riots of 1736 finally ended, nobody in Vephrall thought they would ever see anything of their like again. So imagine their surprise when they woke up a few months ago, shortly after the end of the World Cup hosted by Vephrall, and found the nation's communications infrastructure again almost totally disabled.

With great difficulty, the Vephraller Foutbiller Restritris has managed to successfully name a squad for AOCAF XXXI identical to that of World Cup 38.

---

Umsaasad Pentove is serving as Vephrall national team manager and will remain under contract throughout AOCAF XXXI.

He will have five assistants helping him out:
Assistant Manager - Parker Law [Bedistani]
Forward Coach - Menburid Umsaasad
Midfield Coach - Netgorin Ocilla
Defender Coach - Pasarap Cegeeng
Goalkeeping Coach - Sytrobes Smait

Pentove has made a slight change to the usual formation for the team. Being from Netlas, he is rather fond of the particularly western "3-5-2 cross" formation, or what others might call a 3-1-3-1-2. The team takes a slightly defensive attitude (-1 on a five-point scale).

Home colors: White and gold
Away colors: Black, red, and white
Third kit: Blue and white
Goalkeeper colors: Green and gold

And now, the players. Starters are shown in the formation diagram at the bottom of this post.

(Note on ages: One RL day is approximately equal to one month in Vephrall. Ages are as of 6 December 2007 IRL; I'm on dialup and my internet time is limited, so basically just add one year to get ages as of the start of this tournament.)
