I dont know if I'm the only one getting this, but every time I enter this forum, Norton Antivirus goes crazy saying that its blocked an intrusion attempt. Whats happening?

My AVG Anti Virus goes nuts too, I have to go into C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache, and remove the so called exploits that the program objects to

I've never had any problems accessing this forum, much less any virus or firewall alerts. But It wouldn't surprise me at all if I'm the only person here that still uses Seamonkey (formerly Mozilla Suite).

People with no life decide its a good idea to hack forums for fun and place trojans on them.

Unfortunately, one of these no-lifers has found ours and is targeting it on a weekly basis, and without paying to upgrade the forums with a ridiculous liscence fee, there is little I can do other than delete the hacked code after it is inserted

Just to note, Ever since I've upgraded to Firefox 2.0 I haven't had these issues.

What about switching to one of the different message board programs that's still free?

Bástard!

The hacker I mean, not you. tongue.gif

I think you're right about that Firefox thing though - I've noticed that whenever I access this forum through Opera on my home PC, I don't get any problems at all. Seems this trojan thing is an IE-only beast.

is it okay if I put up an animated avatar on my profile?

This is the wrong thread to ask that, nevermind the fact that you are not registered on the board.

Don't know about anyone else, but I got those virus warnings again this morning

Posted by: Demot Dec 1 2006, 09:24 AM
I've been getting them for the last two days

Posted by: Vilita Dec 1 2006, 06:46 PM
Deleted them for now.

The best i can do really at the moment is delete the malicious code when it shows up.

The only options for permanent ending of this is to buy the liscense and upgrade the forums, which would cost $185 that I cannot afford out of my own pocket, or to switch to a less powerful forum like phpBB
