you know, I was thinking. As there arn't enough actives to runt he olympics yet how about somthing liek the eurovision song contest? of course it would be too complex to arrange everyone to sing down the line so perhaps somthing else, unless we write songs to existing lyrics?
There was that postcard thing I did ages ago then forgot about, is that still there? Well perhaps a graphics ocntest like that? Or perhaps somthing more vauge, the person who comes up with the best topic, be it a picture, a revelation, but of philisophy, a song, poem or what not. But then we could hcose the winner like in eurovision.

Yea. looks good. however, we'd have to find something that a lot of ppl could participate in, otherwise it would be slightly pointless. but im sure thatll all sort itself out. |

i made a poem!!!!!
Decomposition to Rejuvination; The Cycle
Eyes closed,
only for a moment,
as they open,
turmoil appears,
a red tide covers sanity.
Shot up, a figure rises;
a pheonix, and it attacks.
The tide is red, continuous.
It spreads, a bane to the healthy,
and a hope for the sick.
Dark forces commult,
destroy, wreak their havoc,
disturbing peace and it's sanctity.
They spread to the Core,
affecting all,
damaging all,
killing all.
Cells of truth crushed,
goodness beaten,
but faint light remains.
It shocks the dark,
fights it,
damages it,
kills it.
Hope is shattered,
destroyed by yet more,
Dark allies that have sprung.
They have attacked,
have damaged,
have destroyed.
Cracks appear,
the darkness divides,
light of good between.
The balance,
unbalanced,
ready for Destruction.
Then the walls burst,
and the Forces fight.
The lesser turns to flight,
to its own corner,
shot up, discouraged.
Light is ravaged,
tainted, and on the edge.
It holds the thing line.
It holds the fragile peace.
The War continues,
undisturbed,
undetered.
It ravages others,
survives the ages.
But so does the light.
Another beacon is lit,
yet another,
and another.
A burst of light.
It's purity counters,
the Darkness flails.
The Light continues.
The Darkness becomes impaired,
disturbed,
destroyed.
Without the balance of light,
all would be lost,
but cycles continue,
and perfect becomes raw instability.
Change foments Darkness,
but Light continues.
Never abating,
Never surrendering,
Never enveloped,
The Light is you, my dear.

poetry, drawing etc. how about not having a competition.
We could set up a festival of the arts. So each country could send teams of people to the hosting nation, and demonstrate national music, dancing, art, poetry. whatever really. |

Perhaps both? In festivals there are normally some form of contest in soem element of it.
But a regional arts and culture festival would be good, from small poems to skyscraper sculptures. |

Right okay. well seeing as ppl have already expressed an interest in poetry and art, i propose we sort that out first. although ppl shouldnt enter in every competition. that would really just be silly. unless of course they wanted to.anyway
Poetry:Perhaps THS(if he is still here) could advise on this. length, genre, etcetcetc.
Art: well Taruu seemed interested in this, so perhaps you could specify a little more about this.
and these are a few ideas i had. let me know what you think.
Storytelling: Well obviously this would be just writing a short story (800-1,000 words?) and posting it on the forum. But it should be something to do with your nation. so perhaps an ancient myth, description of a famous battle perhaps, or a traditional story passed down through the generations. obviously we wouldnt really get the full story teller experience but would be judged on the quality of the story. this would take a lot of time to do of course, so if people arent willing to do that we could make a shorter version.
Dance: perhaps this could be done like an eye witness guide to the dancing, and could include the music as well. forexmple, beginning with describing the dancers, costumes, positions etc, then the dance itself or something, with reference to music. perhaps like a news article reporting on it.
well anyway-let me know what y'all think about this. and ideas for other rounds etc

Perhaps for hte festival we should just have an open category. And form of art or cultural display representing their nation maybe?
Perhpas for RP a nation would want to host this, who might be willing for that?
Regards a competition maybe each display could be given a mark from 1 to 5 by each council member acting as pannel of judges then they numbers will be tallied by the host nation? The winning nation gets to host the next event we have.
Well the judge thing if we get alot of entrys, if we don't we chould simply do a forum poll which might be nicer  . |

We could always get a few external judges in (not sure if that would work) eg Hipposhire, who was a guest here a few weeks ago and has been in contact with Vilita on other matters since. just an idea.
And could we ask THS to rejoin? i dunno why he left, was it not coz he got pissed off about that population to land ratio??

might be a bit hard. Besides, aslong as people don't vote for themselfs it will be as sound from poltiical interfearence as the eurovision song contest |
