AOWC Season Two, Off to a better start

Already things look brighter on the race circuit than they did last season. The doom and gloom of Rk-Mrs has been replaced by Fta-Pldi who seems to have a better handle on things.

In his first race of the season Fta-Pldi raced beautifully to move up the charts. He struggled in qualifying, coming into the race in 12th place but moved up the charts beautifully, finishing all the way in 6th place.

And he was held back by a conservative pit crew that cost him plenty of time. If he shaved off 8 seconds, to the time of the best driver of three stops he'd have finished 3rd and if he'd shaved off 14 seconds to the time of the worst driver with two stops he'd have finished second.

However nobody is displeased with the conservative crew or the sixth place finish. After all the troubles of last season a solid performance like that is very well recieved.

Fta-Pldi impresses again

If the theme for last racing season was Rk-Mrs's inability to finish races it looks like this year's theme might be Fta-Pldi being held back by his pit crew. Once again an overly cautious approach kept Fta-Pldi off the podium.

This time he finished fourth, but a mere second off of the top spot. Considering that he was next to last in terms of pit times for finishers, it meant that he raced brilliantly. He held the lead for fourteen laps, taking it on two separate occassions. Of course who knows how things would've turned out, but it's quite possible that with better pit work Fta-Pldi could have ended up first.

Team owner Ltr-Mn had some comments after the race. "Of course I'm disappointed to miss the podium. But I'm pleased as pumpkins with the start that Fta-Pldi is off to. He's displaying far more skill than Rk-Mrs ever did."

With Geisenfried's Schwarz winning the first two races, the affect on the strategy of the other racers is currently unknown. But one thing seems clear, Fta-Pldi is much more in the hunt than Rk-Mrs ever was.

Marquis out due to pitting error

Julian Marquis retired two-thirds of the way into an abysmal first race today in the second annual AOOWC today. The reason? His pit crew did not notice his tires were wets. The relevant staff have been disciplined and Marquis expects to be on top form next race.

Fta-Pldi

Fta-Pldi has been struggling in recent races, but still getting better results thank Rk-Mrs. There has been a much more sense of harmony this year, but too much passitivity from Fta-Pldi.

After crashing out on the third race of the season Fta-Pldi has mostly looked to avoid crashing the last two races, turning in 9th and 8th place finishes respectively. However these results are much less impressive when considering the number of finishers. In the most recent race he finished ahead of only one other racer who actually finished the race.

Although he currently sits tied for 6th, if he wants to finish high overall he must start to find better results and drive more aggresively.

Marquis Back On Top

Tip-top tuning and expert pitting decisions have placed Falcanian hotshot Julian Marquis back at the top of his game, blasting into first place at this weekend's race. Preliminary reports indicate he is confident for next weekend too. Could this be the start of another winning streak? Only time, and the Mathdon Expedient, will be able to tell.
