Starblaydia Squad announced for AOCAF 3
Top Stars left out but this could still be a title-winning Team

With most of Starblaydia's top players plying their trade in the World Cup Qualifiers, an under-strength side has been sent to Pedriana for the AOCAF. Some noteable additions include:

Gavin Thornley - On the books at high-flying Vilitan side Jinal Cove, this is Thornley's first call-up to a Starblaydia squad for the youngster.
Duncan Jacob - Having not won caps for either Starblaydia or Turori in the past, Jacob is in here as cover for young Durand
Elliot Ward - Will become Starblaydia's oldest ever player if he makes it onto the pitch.
Aiden Matranga - Perhaps a last hurrah for the veteran Winger who has lost none of his desire
Fabrizio de Souza Lima - Answering his country's call in time of need, Fabricio is ready for a final test.

Goalkeepers
1. Markus Cragg, Goalkeeper, 21 - Basian Valley (Beta Division)
12. Gavin Thornley, Goalkeeper, 18 - Jinal Cove FC (Vilitan Stellar)

Ok, I swear, this is the last time. Next tournament we enter will have a different roster.

Aquiliana Falcons AOCAF III Roster

Coach: Opüdo "Coach Ed" Culio
Assistant/Goalkeeping Coach : Spalius "Coach Rob" Nicturtus

GOALKEEPERS

1 - Stocus Marmoreus (28, Facundia) - The 6'5" keeper uses his massive wingspan to get to many balls that he wouln't be able to reach because of his high center of gravity. He has great agility and can reach the top corner from just over the halfway point of the goal.

18 - Proximus Excipelo (35, Nidola FC) - The veteran, mainly on the team to mentor Bælükas, will nonetheless provide quality backup for Marmoreus. He may not be as tall, but has great leg strength and leaping ability.

30 - Melet Bælükas (22, Sciurius) - The most aggressive of the three, he plays every match with fire and determination to make up for his lack of skill. Look for this rising star to develop very well before the next Cup.

DEFENDERS

2 - LB Anularius Messor (27, Ubertas FC) - While he may not be able to kick the long ball, this player's great speed and quickness help him to defend any player who comes down the wing. He blocks many cross attempts from his side of the field, and rushes in to clear those from the right.

5 - CB Tueri Girillo (34, Nidola FC) - The veteran is the most tactically sound of anyone. His mental abilities and positioning are second to none, and he is the utmost expert on delaying tactics.

13 - RB Ditras Marcos (28, Nova Malta) - While a little slow, hemakes up for it with his tackling and positioning. If any ball is played to his mark, you can bet that he's going to get there first.

6 - SW Ancora (30, Mentarium) - A very powerful tackler, he is feared around the League for his dangerous challenges and deep kicks. As long as he doesn't give up any penalties, he should be the best player of this unit.

15 - LB Longævus Aluta (37, Chalybs) - Actually already has his first international goal, in the Masters Tournament. While he knows he won't get one here, he wants to be a part of Aquil history before he calls it a career.

3 - CB Mendax Roriges (24, Farca City) - Brings lots of youthful intensity and speed to this defensive team. While he isn't too strong or powerful, he can mark any man on the field and make sure they don't get near the goal.

9 - LB Protervus Gusto (26, Incurtio United) - He's a true shutdown defenseman on the wing, who doesn't allow any penetration. He needs to improve his speed and conditioning before he can make any true contributions.

4 - SW Giber Zeloti (22, Incurtio United) - The young sweeper has some skill, but often get lost in the game and makes mental errors that result in a goal for the other team. With experience, he should become a top-notch player.

26 - RB Levisomnus Obseror (25, Viculus) - He's overcome countless injuries and come back near the top of his game each time, but a strained quadricep just before this tournament hurt his chances at playing.

MIDFIELDERS

7 - LM Tomus Flögel (31, Sciurius) - Has the power of deadly free kicks, and superb crossing ability. He sets up many more goals than he scores, but if he gets a shot, it'll be a very difficult save for the keeper.

22 - CM Istic Præfrigidi (34, Viculus) - Uses his dribbling skills to break the defense, and then finds the open man for a great scoring opportunity. He should be able to pick up some good assits in this tournament.

11 - CM Acriter Carbasus (29, Nidola FC) - Has great offensive and defensive skills. He has a good shot, but also great tackling and marking skills. The anchor of the midfield couldn't be a better player.

14 - RM Breva Haesit (26, Flavia United) - His cross may come off harder than his shot, but when he shoots, the keeper almost never has a chance to make the save, as the ball is already in the opposite corner.

12 - LM Ligeris Ungulis (30, Facundia) - Ha great speed and endurance, but lacks great skill. He often plays defense on the opposing midfielder, then attacks the defenseman on his side, effectively wearing out the other team.

36 - LM Ephi Direptor (28, Convallis) - He shoots harder than anyone else, though his accuracy could be better. More often than not, the shot goes into the crowd, but when it's on net, no keeper can react quickly enough to save it.

19 - CM Ostrea Tarraconis (23, Ducentis) - Led his team into the Optimus Division just last year, and as a result, has very little experience against top-quality teams. He is a great tackler and passer, but doesn't quite have the shooting skills yet.

31 - CM Horesci Xiphior (25, Volatilis) - While he has a Greek-sounding name, he plays fiercer than anyone on the field, and in fact, is kept out of the starting lineup for fear that he'll pick up a red card early and kill the team's chances at a win. His great shooting skills could be useful in a PK shootout.

40 - RM Gry Ingenii (38, Nova Malta) - He's still mad that he wasn't selected for the last national team. The fact that said team never existed should tell you what type of player he is.

44 - CM Tristi Sances (22, Flavia United) - Has good speed and dribbling skills, but lacks a good shot and isn't a great defender. He need to work harder in practice if he ever wants to make this team.

28 - LM Arx Epotus (21, Convallis) - Wanted to be on the squad so badly that he turned down an invitation to play for the U21 team. Should help the starters in practices with his endurance and good skills for his age.

FORWARDS

21 - LF Pontifex Auguratius (32, Incurtio City) - The captain has a deadly shot, great dribbling skills, and superb awareness of the defense and his teammates. He can almost sense the unmarked player on the other side of the box.

10 - RF Ronal Cuniculus (26, Mentarium) - "The Rabbit" is simply the best out there. His speed and quickness allow him to navigate around any defender, and he can place the ball wherever he wants to in the goal.

16 - LF Resupo Cornix (28, Mentarium) - The other half of the league-leading Mentarium duo, he isn't quite up to Auguratius' level. However, he and the Rabbit have great chemistry and they give each other assists constantly.

24 - LF Inlusio Flagrantia (26, Volatilis) - If another forward gives up the ball to the defense, you can bet that he'll be racing over to get it back. His passion is great, and there's no question that he deserves to be a starter on this team, if not for the great talent around him.

56 - RF Rämï Pumiliö (21, Nidola FC) - This young striker, while small, has a beautiful left-footed shot and can maneuver around any defenseman. He skipped the U21 tournament to be able to train against better opponents in the main events.

20 - RF Stano Capisos (25, Chalybs) - Has a good shot, and good passing ability, but lacks the great ball control that would give him the start. If not for the logjam at forward, he would definitely get lots of playing time late in the game.

32 - LF Fontis Ductis (22, Ubertas FC) - The last man on the team has good striking ability, but not much else. He lacks passing and dribbling, but with time he should be able to improve his skills sufficiently to lead the League in scoring.

Itngendi Hist'da Psytroxijji/lasane tani Hsytiroksi/The Psytroxian national team

Coach: Lshura Mbenda
The Psyran dedicated much of his time to promote tolerance between the different ethnic groups by the means of sport. For this reason, he was the ideal candidate for this post, not because he is what others would call 'best' but because he has the highest chance to form a team of the players of the three groups.

Starters:
GK: Tsede Ihju, 25, Tabeck FC, Starblaydia
For Tsede Ihju, football became the way out of poverty: He was signed by the Gamma Division team Tabeck FC at a time, when the Psytroxian first league was nothing but a concept and the soccer matches were inofficial tournaments. His performance in Starblaydia was bad for their standards not impressive for Psytroxian.

LB: Xtai Ltasi, 22, Tuncastle Rovers, Starblaydia
The numerous psytroxi players in Starblaydian teams have a certain nickname: Itngi Daslela (An expression made of the words player, fame and abroad). And Xtai Ltasi was one player, or maybe THE player for whom this description is fitting: Being the only Psytroxian player in a first division abroad and among the starters gives him a popularity, which no domestic player can reach.

CB: Imin Sira, 23, Shtiri Kali FC, Psytroxia
Being a player of the "Psytroxi First Division/Liik Hist'da Psytroxijji/Heven mje'het Hsytiroksi" does not mean being a disappointment. Iman Sira surely proves this fact. In his team, the domestic champions Shtiri Kali FC, he showed impressive speed and intution.

CB: Sean Greatland, 28, Linux Penguins, Psytroxia
Sean Greatland is an oddity in the psytroxian team: in his youth, he and his family searched for asylum in Psytroxia, at a time, when the direction of migration was merely in the other direction. For the Linux Penguins he plays since the age of 20.He was a reliable player in the different tournaments before the foundation of the league and one reasons why the Penguins finished third.

RB: Lhaki Kiji, 29, Tournetas, Starblaydia:
Another Itngi Daslela, and another one, who experianced promotion with the team, he plays for. Among the fans, he is famous for his fast and normally fair play but infamous for the terrible haircut, or better say the lack of it. Imagine a black hippy and you get a pretty good impression of how he looks like.

LM: Idkiri Jiji, 17, Tournetas, Starblaydia:
One of the few Tiroksi abroad, and another Tournetas player. Idkiri Jiji only came into the focus of the Starblaydian talent seekers, because at that time, he played for a Psyran team near the so called 'invisible border'. He has a reputation for shooting free-kicks.

CM: Hajir Letasi, 21, Shtiri Kali FC, Psytroxia:
The opposite of an Itngi Daslela is an 'Itngei Mlarka' and Tiroksi Hajir Letasi fits that description pretty well: He surely is talented but despite that, he is unlucky enough to be only a semi-professional. Coach Lshura Mbenda believes that it is good to have people in the team, who played together already and so many Shtiris are in the national team.

CM: Frank Rise, 23, Gnu York Metro Stars, Psytroxia:
The skilled, fast midfielder is the only player from the relegation-endangered Gnu York Metro Stars in tha national team. in the last season, he was one of he top-players of that team. He has a talent of being at the right place in the right time.

RM: Nkia Xteni, 24, Tournetas, Starblaydia:
The Itngi Daslela is known for his skill, his agility as well as for the high number of cards in different colors, he tends to get. Nkia Xteni was notorious for dives and fouls in the Gamma division, we can only hope, that this will change in the Beta and in the cup

SC: Guruki Halasi, 25, Tournetas, Starblaydia:
Another Itngi Daslela from Tournetas. He has a good intuition and talent to outsmart defenders, however, sometimes, he has slight difficlties with finishing.

SC: Jari Dali, 26, Taliki Tihrara'ny, Rejistania:
Despite not being a starter in the newly-promoted H1SR (=rejistanian first league) team, Lshura Mbenda gave him a chance as starter this time. The Tiroksi player found his way into the rejistanian first league team mostly by a series of strange incidents, however, when he played, he showed decent talent.

The Substitutes:
GK: Matthew Freeman, 29, Mseda K'ly Sekhika, Psytroxia
GK: Ktari Gvevensi, 26, Linux Penguins, Psytroxia

DF: Ngultru Mvengi, 19, Mseda K'ly Sekhika, Psytroxia
DF: Snatol Fou, 22, Veles, Starblaydia
DF: Kteni Stini, 26, Veles, Starblaydia
DF: Syku Vela, 21, Lteni/Iltenji FC

MF: Isa Haji, 30, Lteni/Iltenji FC
MF: Kvani Syjei, 28, Hecia, Starblaydia
MF: Kvidi Mbedi, 19, Widdrington Wolves
MF: Haju Lika, 21, Stari K'ly Asene

FW: Dnalo Lux, 18, Veles, Starblaydia
FW: Ij-Ngeni Stallman, 27, Shtiri Kali FC

Coach Bryan Marshall announced the Sarzonian national team's roster for World Cup 17 and for AOCAF III.

ROSTER (starters in bold)
GOALKEEPERS
30 Troy Perkins (Portland): Perkins is still young (24), but he's very experienced in international play. After some struggles, he's expected to solidify his spot as the first choice keeper.
1 Kerry Tanner (Portsmouth): Now 35, Tanner brings a veteran presence to the team. He can take over in a pinch if Perkins can't go.

DEFENDERS
2 Mike Coyle (Woodstock): Left back in the Wild's 4-4-2 alignment. Speedy defender who can make up for occasional lapses in positioning with sheer athleticism. Now 23, getting better with experience.
5 Corey Hemby (Internashionale - Starblaydia): Plays center back for Internashionale and is expected to step in for the retired Bryson Juergens. At 24, injects some youth into an aging position.
32 Emacio (Hallad Reavers - Starblaydia): Known as a tremendous offensive defender, signed with the Reavers after the Stars were eliminated from the World Cup. (23 years old)
35 Lance Alcina (Hallad): Plays right back for the Reavers. This 20 year old is a teammate of Emacio's so the two are familiar with each other.
14 William Jackson (Burlington Braves - minor league): Signed with the Braves after the nuclear destruction of Townshend. 30 years old.
18 Taylor Williams (Rochester): Plays right halfback for the Rage. He earned a spot in the starting 11 with all-star caliber season. Not much pure speed, but tremendous quickness and great smarts. (30 years old)

MIDFIELDERS
6 Jeff Conley (Woodstock): Also plays defensive midfield for the Wild. Renowned throughtout the league for shutting down the league's best attacking midfielders and withdrawn forwards. Aggressive streak sometimes results in cautions and sendoffs. 36 years old but in the best shape of his career.
9 Darwin Russell: (Parkville F.C. - NEWI Cefn Druids): Tremendous left-side player with a deadly accurate free kick from that side. Can be roughed up and taken out of his game. At 25 years old, is emerging as a star on the national side.
10 Bobby Convey (Woodstock): Team captain. Easily the best playmaker in all of Sarzonia. Very experienced. Able to relate to all his teammates well. Frightening maturity at 23.
16 John Benmont (Portsmouth): Replacing the retired Barry Owens, fills many of the same roles for the team. Adds a little more speed. 27 years old.
21 Martin Overton (Richmond): Plays defensive midfield for Richmond, but can also join the attack in a pinch. Has played withdrawn forward at times when the club team was hit by injuries or suspensions. 28 years old.
17 George Mitcham (Saugerties): Once known as Sarzonia's first foreign-based player, now plays attacking midfield for the Snakes. He's on the verge of breaking into the starting 11 with the Stars. At 24 years old, may flourish with a new club.
33 Bronson Adelsen (Rochester): New addition to the national team, this 28 year old adds a rugged defensive presence to the team.
29 Valentin Kienzl (Tacoma Titans): The former midfielder for the U21 team, Kienzl brings a lot of skill to the team at 21. It will be a challenge to see if he can play at the senior national team level.

FORWARDS
13 Anton Gregor (Daurmont, Isselmere-Nieland): Withdrawn forward who doesn't see much playing time on the capital city's best side. However, played key role in third place finish for Sarzonia in the last tournament. At 27 years old, the sky's the limit.
22 Brian Wilson (Woodstock): At 21, the youngest player on the team, but has terrific skills for his age and great football awareness. His father is the national team's top assistant coach, so he often thinks like a coach on the pitch. Also played a key role in Sarzonia's last AOCAF tournament.
31 Barry Alphonso (Randolph Reavers): Can play either withdrawn forward or striker for his club team. Led the league with 22 goals last season and has led the league in goals scored two straight years. Set records for most goals in Joe Gibbs University's history as a four year starter. 26 years old.
32 Bruce Badger (Randolph): A supersub, Badger scored 13 goals, a league high for a player who was strictly a reserve on his club team in the SFC. Able to add some scoring punch in a pressure situation. Just turned 27.
19 Kenny Cooper (Tacoma): Also turning 21, he is the all-time leading goal scorer for the U21 national team. He figures to compete for playing time off the bench.
