The kinks had been worked out, the magnet system had undergone a complete overhaul and the element used to focus the beam was now replaced by a more destruction friendly magnetic chamber. All in all, the LUCIFER system had been renewed, significantly.
Yest, when a person thinks of LUCIFER they usually think of Satan, the Devil, et cetera. Or they have no idea what that word is and think of it as jibberish. However, a few outside of Novvs Atlantis (especially those learned in the language of the ancient Romans), know its true meaning:
The Morning Star
or
The Light Bringer.
What does that have to do with the LUCIFER system? Nothing really, it just sounded neat.
However, today is the test firing of the new LUCIFER system. The target? The landmass directly north of Novvs Atlantis. Uninhabited, and the location of several extinct empires, it is the perfect site to test the capablities of the system. The abandoned buildings will allow us to monitor the effects of the system and possible future targets without killing anybody, that is if the system doesn't perform beyond the estimated area of destruction.
