OOC:(This is a secret metting. No one, not even the VOIA, knows about this, yet.)
IC:
This floor of Olympic Tower was, well, different.

Called "The Velvet Room" by the few who know what purpose it served, it was not really part of the skyscraper itself, but a secret room buried deep in Mt. Leorudo. The room served as a situation room to the leaders of the LDI and was only accessable through a hidden elevator in a mine near Navigatio, the village at the base of the mountain. The room was made of reinforced concrete, steel, and bedrock, with glass-touch screen walls operating as computers. 3D projection simulators covered tables labeled with different scenes, from "Leorudo Capital District" to "Turori Portgates". Today however, President-Elect Oliver Balone was planning the first major expanision for his nation in over two thousand years. He had his top advisors from LDI and the leaders of his military divisions present on to advise him on the when, where, how, and whats of his plan.

His plan was not as militaristic as one might assume, yes, it would involved stationing Leorudians troops spead out across the region, but the new drone technology would be relied upon to helpout the human troops on the ground. After a few minutes of discussing possible locations, a total of eight possible locations where selected.

The locations are displayed below.

"Now sir, you know how much manpower it is going to take to create all of these cities?" An advisor by the name of Celosia adressed the recently elected President Oliver Balone.
"By the estimates given by our simulations, we would need to hire multiple educated workers from around the region to build and develop all of these plans."
The President replied as if to be bored by all of this.
"And how do you suppose we do this? Celosia questioned.
"I don't know, create a missionary program, international advertisement, robotics, whatever! Just get it done." Oliver replied, raising his tone near the end of his statement.
"Okay, who can we task with this whole thing?"
"Our database pulled up one Micheal Aporus. He was the commanding officer over the Wicksteed Campaign, when Secladius fell out of power, Mr. Aporus was given 150 million LmUs and sent to Gaveo."
"Is that where he is now?"
"Too my knowledge, yes."
"Well, lets contact him."
----
The tropical music crackled out of the public radio on one of Gaveo's public taxis.
Micheal Aporus was enjoying his life, he was twenty-four years old, he was single, and he was covered finacially. He also owned a villa overlooking white sands and blue ocean. Today he was going into the city to get to know the area. It was your typical third-world nation. A group of children played football on a street corner, a woman with a small fruit stand touted her wares, and the buildings' arcitecture had been severly run down after hundreds of years of access.
Micheal threw thirty primes(Gaveo currency) at the driver. He hopped out and went into the marketplace, buying food for the next week for when he felt like staying indoors. Ten minutes later he was on his way back to his house. He had a private security detail guarding his perimeter incase of some rebel incursion, and after he cleared the gates, he went inside. On his coffee table next to his couch, there was his tablet, he picked it up and put on some music for himself. He had began to take a nap when his computer lit up.
He was getting a call on the channel that was for when Leorudo needed to contact him.
This was never fun.
----
"Dammit! Has he picked up yet!" Oliver Balone shouted to his advisors.
He had been waiting for three hours for Micheal to get home, and now, well, he would not answer the computer. The cameras spread to watch Micheal in his house showed him dozing off on the couch, so a Leorudian Technical Team had to rewire his video calling permissions so they could turn up the volume.
Finally, Micheal came slumbering over to the computer.
"Lt. General Micheal Aporus?" Oliver Balone began the conversation.
"I haven't been called that in a long time." Micheal replied, reaching for a glass of Pina Colada that he had prepared for him as he arrived.
"Well, Micheal, is it okay if I call you that? I have a little...help, if you will." Oliver said quickly, he obviously wanted this to end and for Micheal to be on the first plane to Leorudo.
"Sure, you can call me that, and what form of favor do you require?" Micheal asked.
"Well, we here back at Leorudo are still...expanding, and we just thought you would be fit to lead this expansion, now, don't worry, this won't be any compared to Wicksteed, hell, it is within the AO itself, and I really think-" Oliver was cut off by Micheal who laughed and said,"Do I have a choice?"
Oliver stood on camera for a second, and replied, "No, if you come to Leorudo with a piss-poor attitude I have no problem throwing your ass on the front lines."
Micheal sat back in his chair for what he knew would be the last time and said, "When's the next flight out there?"

"Sir, Task Forces 005, 006, 007, 008, 008, 0010, 0011, and 0012 are ready for deployment onto predetermined sectors 1 through 7 for initial security. Requesting finally clearance." Sgt. Micheal Sabrini asked the newly reinstated Lt. General Micheal Aporus. It had been a long time since someone had requested permission to do something, so Micheal was taken back by for a half second. He quickly caught himself, however, and told the Sgt. to proceed with the operations.

His new "office" as he called it, was not as fancy as his former when he was staying on his center of operations near Wicksteed, but it would do. He had his standard battle simulator brough back from the old island, but not much else. He had the command of the airship Navigatio(as seen here)
(user posted image)
The Navigatio is one of the most powerful aerial vessels in the Leorudian Armory, developed in early 2005 with some more of those blacklisted tax LmU's that fall out of the government every year described a "waste". She can fly across the entire continent within a half of an hour and has communications capabilities unmatched. She also escorts multiple different variants of planes from the Denoma Fighter V-39(the main utility aircraft of the Wicksteed Campaign) to variants of the F-36 Super Viper Joint Dominance Fighter, bought in secret from the Viranain government, waiting for an actual mission. Also equipped with Anti-Air turrents that can expand out of the ship's hull. The ship was also equipped with a Class-B Radar that can locate enemy assests on the other side of Starbladyia.
Micheal's office was in the main building on the airship, and it had all of the tools he needed to commence a large scale military operation, from Pina Colada minibars to Pandora blaring Beyonce(don't judge), but, this was a mainly civilian operation, and this was supposed to be easy.

The ships were off.

This is the scene: Two men look at a large battle simulator on an observation deck of a small party boat cruising towards a shore under the midnight sky.

"Mr. Secladius, I like what I am seeing." A man known as Orlando Sinita, or "General Sinita" as the Ex-President of Leorudo titled him, was the new head of Mr. Secladius' private army.

Over the years, Mr. Secladius had achieved many friends, one of them was the CO of the 105th Leorudian Special Operations Division.
Amongst fifteen "Elephant" nuclear warheads, four hundred Atlas Strike missles, four generals, and over five hundred soldiers, The President had himself a little smuggled army. This was all due to a few good men rejecting the new government of one Oliver Balone, and they deserted during the chaos of the reorganising the society.

All of the units where going to meet up in one of the most unexplored areas of the region, and they were going to start a little base.

"You like what, the amount of units we have? The amount of power we are capable of achieving?" The former President said.
"All of it. It shows so much promise. The new government is bound to screw something up internationally, and then we sweep in, join with the opposition, become a legitimate nation, and establish a haven of Leorudian pride." The man said with conviction and true belief. He was a zealot of a much greater cause.
"We cannot offically come out for awhile, are we?" Donald Secladius.
"Do you mean as a legitimate nation?" Orlando asked back.
"Of course, we are going to have to build a nation from the ground up, with no outside supplies or help." Donald said.
"Well, we all have to be devoted to the cause, to build a better life for our children." Orlando said.
"So true." Donald said.
The two men stared off into the distance, thinking about what they were all about to go through.
"So, we still need a master plan. Any ideas?" Donald asked his second in command.
"I say we start off building a plantation. For food, of course, then we build barracks for the soldiers and houses for the civilians. Then we build the silo."
"From there?"
"We can go anywhere."
Donald just sighed.

There was so much potential.

"Database Search. Commander Kellen Lemmerde. Call." General Aporus' voice told his computer. He was calling the man who had been assigned to deliver the ships from Lake Bekk into the ocean.
"General." The Commander's voice greeted him.
"Kellen, I need a status report on your progress to give to Oliver."
"Patching you a map with the location of the ships' oceanic rally point."

Battleships are the ones with the little guns sticking off of them(Farthest West).

"As you can clearly see, I intend on flying the ships over the unclaimed land into the ocean, where one battleship will protect each group of cargo ships headed to their respective destinations. The first task of the builders on the group will be to build a port, from there it is up to them."
Micheal rubbed his chin.
"This sounds reasonable. What exactly do you intend to carry the ships?" Micheal asked.
"I intend on have eight cargo helicopters carry each battleship across the territory, while for the cargo ships, I will have six helicopters for each cargo ship. This in total gives you three hundred and eight total helicopters required for this mission. Morcavi Industries is willing to cover the costs of this little flight if their ships get a thirty percent discount port fees once this is all finished."
"Wait, why did the government tell a private industry about all of this?"
"Not my job, I would ask Oliver if I were you."
"Thank you. Dismissed."
The Commander gave a quick salute to Micheal as the video concluded.
Yes. Micheal thought. He would have to talk to Oliver.

Posted by: Leorudo Oct 29 2012, 10:08 PM
Well, Micheal severly underestimated the leadership of the new government.
When Micheal questioned Oliver Balone's policies, Oliver quickly stated how Micheal did not understand the fact that Leorudo did not have the men to carry out something like that, and they had room to burn. Oliver also stated that using an airship of the Navigatio's caliber was a little much for this operation, and he was going to move Micheal to a Leorudian Department of Intellegence Outpost, where he would be in constant contact with battle simulators and multiple communication units to keep Gen. Aporus informed with the situation around the AO. Micheal protested, but to avail. He was under new leadership now.

The young officer was walking through a long corridor and at the end of it there were large wooden doors. He knocked on them and entered a large room witch was the office of the Antalian king.
Mein Kaiser!
the soldier saluted
[I]Our spies have foun evidence of some unusual activity in the Leorudian army.Zhey are constantly having battle simulations. Here is zheir report.

Yes,good man.Anything else?

Ya bitte, zhe spies say zhet Leorudo might be preparing to attack Starblaydia or Austernesey.

Nah,zhey dont have the manpower and zhe technology to do zhat.Austernesey is their ally so zhey must be moving accross lake Bekk to conquer the territory next to us, or maybe try to make colonies on some AO islands.

What do you recomend mein Kaiser?

Wait, lets see what are zhey planning.Tell the spies to monitor every move of zheir army. You are dismissed.

Ya mein Kaiser!

And the officer saluted and went out of the room.[/I]

"Alright, lets get this show on the road!" A Sargeant shouted as he signaled the helicopters to latch onto the battleships and move. And within minutes, the chords were in position, then the helicopter's began their ascent. The helicopters encountered quite the strain, but kept pushing. After almost a minute, a large snap rang out, and flames rose from one of the helicopters as it tried to maintain control.
"Abort! Abort! All helicopter release chords!" The Sargeant screamed into his walkie-talkie. More snaps where heard, and multiple helicopters crashed and burned throughout the fleet. The Sargeant simply turned to whomever ever was next to him and screamed a series of curses into his ear before storming off towards his own helicopter.
----
"What the hell was that?" James Morcavi, owner of one of the largest corporations in Leorudo and the supplier of helicopters to this failed operation said to his motherland's highest elected official.
"How am I supposed to know?" Oliver retorted back, it was obvious he did not want to be talking to Mr. Morcavi right now.
"How are you supposed to know? Your the dammed President! I lost half of my PERSONAL helicopter fleet because of what? Your dumbass military not making basic calculations? Well guess what, welcome to the Presidency, but I regret to inform you that your nation's largest company has just resigned from backing your hopeless to do who knows what? Well guess what, I could be playing golf in Turori right now, but know, I have to deal with the likes of you! Well guess what, I'm done with this -explicitive removed-. Find your own dammed helicopters." Mr. Morcavi quickly ended the conversation and the Leorudian Navy was still stuck in Lake Bekk. Mr. Balone just had to hope that no one saw that.
----
"So, I need ideas. Who are we going to ask to give us a diplomatic hand and help us get a navy out of Lake Bekk?" The President was back in the Velvet Room. He had multiple generals and asorted LDI officals situated around the room to help him with whatever he might need.
The President led the conversation, while various officals answered him.
"Who is on our allies list?"
"None."
"Anyone have any nations that are known for giving help to nations like us?"
"Uh...Let me get back to you on that."
"Any nations near the prospected colonies where we could ask for help?"
"We have one on the Falcanian expansion, right?" One of the other officals asked a question, for a change.
"Thats not my job, do we?"
"Yeah we do."
"Check and see if they have public annoucement about helping the settlers."
"Uh, not much from what I have here."
"Well in that case, it looks like we have to contact them."

Hello, I am President Oliver Balone of Leorudo, and I would like to contact you regarding your planned expansion. As part of a Leorudian expansion plan, we would like to create a small port city on the island, but being a nation without an oceanic port means that we cannot send naval assest directly towards our new colony. So I would like to propose this: if Falcania provides Leorudo with transport between the homeland and the new colony until an airport can be established, Leorudo will give all of Falcania free pass throughout our ports. We would also not only allow, but encourage Falcanian citizens to help settle the colony. If you have any questions, contact us, we know that this endeavor will be both productive and prosperous.

Thank you for your time and highest regards,
President Oliver Balone

OOC Edit: Feel free to reply Falc, and any intellegence services that know about the gaffe can make a small statement about it, but show a little recon effort behind it if you will. This thread is now open for buisness.

The Falcon's Logistics & Intelligence Executive HQ, Featbridge

It was a squat, ten-storey tower of plain grey concrete. To the rest of the world, it was the Featbridge offices of Global Investment Solutions Ltd, a footnote in the grand book of Falcanian financial services history. But to those with level D clearance, it was, in fact, the hub of all Falcanian internal and overseas intelligence.

In a fairly cramped office, full of FNC-issue government furniture and harsh fluorescent lamplight, the Director of Central AO sat behind his desk, and one of his case officers sat opposite.

"I hope this won't take too long, Burns. Is this about the WA delegacy nonsense, or have you come to give me some good news for a fogging change?"

"Kind of." Burns' superior was a thin, angry man called Black. "Y'see, sir, it's about Leorudo."

"Oh, that particular shambles. They want to tow ships overland?"

"Yes sir." Burns failed to hide a smirk. "They've... destroyed several hundred helicopters. It's one of the worst disasters in Leorudan history."

Black chuckled - an extreme show of mirth for him. "Sky, you see what I have to fogging work with here? Right. OK, how did we get this intel? I'm assuming it's through Jurassic."

"Sir." Jurassic was the codename for intelligence received from the Leorudan military - chiefly, from one source, the agents posted on the on-loan FAV Raptor.

"Right. So... ah, oh fogging hell, you're going to tell me they want to do something with it."

"Sir?"

"The Raptor. We gave it to them on a loan, and we only did that because it was basically half-finished. A sign of good faith. It's going to require at least six months of testing exercises before it's ready for service. They're going to break our toys. we can't let that happen."

"Sir, you think that's a risk?"

"This is a nation, Burns. It's a proper country, with people, who live there, and pay taxes, and go to the fogging cinema. It's a real proper country - that just blew up dozens of helicopters, literal dozens, because they didn't do any maths before trying it! And they're waddling around with several billion talons worth of our fogging aircraft carrier! It's like a small child with a fogging great javelin! Right, we nip this in the bud here. Full package."

"Sir-" Burns interrupted hesitantly. "We got this message five minutes ago."

Black took the message and read it.

"Right. Enough. E-fogging-nough. Get an audience. Bring one of your best briefers. And some shiny fogging metalhead from the hot-air-balloon brigade."

I am writing you this letter in response to your open communique to our government for help. I represent an organisation that has a vested interest in Leorudan expansion throughout the region. It has come to our attention that you have encountered logistical difficulties in transport across the region - this may be something we can assist you with.

You have entered into a contract with the Falcanian Combined Strike Force to operate the FAV Raptor under Leorudan command as the Navigatio. You have also contracted three airships of the C-3 model to act as supply tenders for the Navigatio.

We would like to arrange a meeting with members of your staff to discuss your options at this stage. Falcania would be more than willing to provide substantial logistical and security support for your expansion efforts, in return for certain future considerations.

We may be reached at the return address here. We will be expecting a reply.

Oliver Balone had finally moved into his office in Olympic Tower in the Capital district of the Leorudian City Proper. This was a ceremonial moment for Leorudian Presidents as since the towers completion near the end of the last century, four Presidents had walked in and out of the office. Presonally, Micheal prefered the Velvet Room, but he would make do with this one.
His secretary's phone rang for the first time, only moments after drinking the ceremonial bottle of wine.
He picked up the phone.
"Hello."
"Mr. President."
"To whom am I speaking?"
"I am Agent George Dirini of the Leorudian Department of Intelligence. I am involved with international affairs."
"What do you want?"
"We have just recieved a messege from the Falcanians regarding our expansion."
"Do I need to read it? or can you sum it up pretty well."
"Well, they talked about the Navigatio, which I didn't know was theirs, then they said that they would love to help us as long as we give them stuff later, very broad."
"That was horrible, let me read it."
The transmission was sent through LDI Channels straight to the President's screen.

The President read over it before saying.
"So they want a meeting."
"Thats what I said."
"No it is not."
"Yes it is."
"Wow. Okay. Someone famous offically hates you."
The President hung up and threw a couple of messeges around asking who would want to be in this "meeting", and after a few minutes, he had a pretty good idea of who would be representing him. Two LDI Agents, his minister of Foriegn Affairs, Micheal Aporus, and the main city planner of the new expansion.

Mr. Burns and respective diplomats,

I believe we have already made formalities, so I will cut to the point. I agree with the idea of a diplomatic meeting, however, we do not know where or how you would like to meet, and therefore we need some specifics such as location, date, and security details. If you can contact us with this information we can have a direct diplomatic meeting and establish further relations with your nation.

Fighter planes in pairs in above the clouds over Geisenfried. Boring.

*click*

Bazalonian naval movements. Yawn.

*click*

A scheduled Pacitalian beach storming excercise. Meh.

*click*

Leorudo battleships docked in the Bekk, and a lot of... helicopters. Interesting.

There was no click this time, as the Starblaydi spy satelllite operator - he liked to think of himself as operating the satellites themselves, rather than just viewing their real-time video feeds - focussed on what was going on in one of their three neighbours.

"That's a hell of a lot of choppers," he said to himself, logging the time and date with the appropriate flags. Lots of whirling blades tld him there was something going on, and the fact their shadows were on the ground meant they were pretty low, if the sun's height at this time of day was predictable. Which it was, of course.

They looked to be in position around the ship, almost like an outline. The shadows moved as one across the flat surface, indicating that all of the choppers were gaining height at once. They all came to reach a single point, and then held there, in an almost unmoving formation. What the hell was going on here?

He tapped a few buttons, zooming and panning around the images he was getting. They didn't really help that much, but the overall picture was of hundreds of helicopters gathered around - above - a battleship. They knew about Leorudo's navy, of course, as the Starblaydi fleet in the Bekk was designed to dominate whatever else was in the water there, even if it was just a case of sitting in the middle of the pond and projecting power to the edges. Suddenly there was a flash on screen, a fireball as one of the helicopters was destroyed.

"Di Bradini's Ghost!" The operator exclaimed, punching in a few more tags and flags on the footage, alerting and copying it to any militar analysts who might need it. Scores more choppers hit the deck. There seemed to be no gunfire or missile strike, and a series of malfunctions here was too much of a co-incidence. What the hell was going on on the north shore of the Bekk?

The three men stood in the chamber.

One of them was admiring the art. The other two stood nearby, merely waiting for the president to enter. One man was wearing the brassy uniform of a Falcanian naval officer. Another was wearing a very expensive, tailored, pinstripe double-breasted suit. The man admiring the art was dressed more plainly, in a grey two-piece with a dark blue tie.

As the Leorudian staff entered, pinstripe put on a winning smile. "General, so lovely to meet you at last. My name is Garath Messinger. My companions here are Marshal Jozeph Wran, and I believe you've been corresponding with my colleague Burns." Burns tore his head away from the art, and nodded to the delegates.

"You've been such lovely hosts already, but I believe we should cut down to brass tacks - we're here on business, after all. That's what we like, you know, that Leorudo is a place we can do business with." He put his briefcase on the table, clicked the catches, and started pulling out paperwork. "Now, your current plan, the helicopters, that didn't work, did it? It takes a serious logistical effort to move this kind of metal overland, believe you me. That's where we come in."

He laid a map of the region in front of him. "We've marked your proposed colony sites on this map. Extensive. Ambitious. We don't want to overextend. Let's start with one. New Almintora," he tapped on the map. "Just south of the former Krytenia. That's neutral airspace. Now, this will be the biggest leg of your operation, it's the first leg, and it's the one that hinges on Falcanian support. Our C-3s can transport the personnel and the materiel you'll need to establish a colony city that can sustain itself. It's up to you whether you wish this to be a civil operation or a military one. I'd certainly recommend against a military option, at this stage." He pointed at the ceiling. "Vilita is watching. Starblaydia is watching. We don't want them to get the wrong idea. That's where the Marshal comes in." The Marshal gave a low, reverent bow. "Marshal Wran has been assigned by the Combined Strike Force to take commission as the executive officer onboard the Navigatio, as per the..." he scanned the paperwork in front of him, "fourth clause, eighty-third section, paragraph twelve of your contract, 'conduct aboard the vessel'. I trust he will be unobtrusive and will not interfere with the operation of the vessel unless your doing so would bring you into default of contract. It is, after all, a Falcanian vessel." He smiled again. "Now, I trust you're authorised to sign contracts with overseas firms. The Falcanian National Corporation would like to present these contracts for provision of logistical infrastructure throughout the expansion process, and these contracts for provision of security support. Just sign... here, and here, and here."

Posted by: Leorudo Nov 2 2012, 10:21 AM
"Well, just let me read over it..." The Minister of International Affairs said, quickly scanning the page, then signing it.
"Seems legitimate," He then nodded in a direction to the left.
He passed the page around and it was signed.
"I would personally like to thank you for coming to Leorudo, even though our meeting was brief. If you have any problems while here in Leorudo, I will personally attend to them. So, shall we go? I'm sure the general has things to attend too."
Everyone turned to Micheal, and he slowly nodded. Without speaking, he stood up and gestured for an elevator.

Months after the diplomatic mission in Leorudo
New Almintora Colony, Shift #1 of Today
"Sir, the ships are moving in." A construction worker by the name of Darrell said to his superior, indicating that another fleet of supply ships where moving into the port at the bay. Darrell was a part of a group of construction workers that would build another housing development. It had been an odd adjustment, moving from the over-crowded housing districts of downtown Leorudo to the construction tents in the middle of nowhere. He also had to deal with all the bird-people he hadbeen introduced too, but no harm had come of that, so he thought it was okay.
"Okay, when are the materials going to be ready?" Darrell's boss, a man named Carter, asked him.
"Within two hours, I'd say." Darrell answered.
"Okay then, lets get moving." Carter said as he looked up at a Falcanian blimp. It read:
"Thank you, for building a better future."
He thought they deserved a little more than that.
----
Micheal looked out from viewpoint on the colony. He liked what he saw. New Almintora would have the first Leorudian port that would service "wet" ships and airships side-by-side. He also had a gargantuan city headquarters building that was being built not far from the port, along with offices, factories, highrise housing developments, and even an airport for international trade. Falcanian assistance had been crucial in the development of the colony, and they were getting their return in multiple port discounts that will help them in the long run. It was looking like the first colony was in good hands and he was almost ready to build the next one. He enjoyed this much more than he did fighting over an island in the middle of nowhere, but he should not jinx it now. He intended on the next colony being much more open to all the region's nations, offering port benefits and such for civilian aid and military protection, all of this would be temporarly, of course, because the instant Leorudo could get a navy that could move outside Lake Bekk, life would get much easier.

"Okay, we are going to move out and claim all six of our other areas now. It is time to go public."
The call had been made from the top of the pile, Oliver Balone had issued the edict that would move Leorudian naval vessels out of New Almintora, along with the newly-purchased fleet off the international market, to expand and hold all seven positions. Now this would contain miminum protection due to the small amount of ships that could be used, but this would protection none the less. Now it was Micheal Aporus' job to relay the order to his units. It also meant that Leorudo could issue a public statement advertising for regional or even international settlers and help, but first he felt he wanted some protection.

Well, now that protection was in motion, and within the next few days a public statement could be issued, but the ships were in motion.

"So, Burns, you got a report for me?"

"A couple, sir. New Alimintora have built some shipyards. They have cargo haulers in the water, sir."

"Already? It's only been six months."

"I never said they were very good cargo ships, sir. They seem to be going for... speed. It's speed they're after."

"I hope this gets better."

"That's right, sir. They signed their life away on these contracts. Falcanian workers, Falcanian money. Falcanian jobs. This is really our expansion, we're running it, it's just Leorudian people, and Leorudian flags on the boats. We're going to make... billions of talons. Tens, maybe hundreds of billions. Good news for the treasury, eh?"

"Good grief. They're buying all these services from us - rental for the airships, Falcanian crews, Falcanian constructors. How are they paying for this?"

"They're borrowing the money, sir. From... Falcanian banks and financial institutions. It's all in the contract, you see."

"Sky above. So as well as providing all the expertise, materiel and personnel for this, we're also providing the funding for this little empire of theirs?"

"Seems so. But there was a question I had, sir."

"What's that, kid?"

"What does it look like when a whole empire defaults?"

Black settled back in his chair, and smiled a dark little smile.

"I think Falcania might just have enough bailiffs for that."

Rael,

There are troublesome events unfolding in AO at this point that I believe we can no longer ignore. President Oliver Balone of Leorudo has proven to be even less competent than we had originally thought. And believe me when I say it is hard to view him as less competent than I already did.

Of course you already know of the miniscule expansions that Leorudo has intended to make for some time, those are now coming to pass. At first look they had not seemed to present any problems for us, but a closer look has brought some startling revelations.

First note that three of their “expansions” seem to have popped up in close proximity to holdings of our own, while two more are directly in the middle of Falcanian interests. Of the remaining two only one seems to make sense.

Let me go into more detail.

With our definitive move into Burk’dyngr effectively allowing for our direct control of trade and military movements in and out of the Nothandryun Passage, their newly claimed port of Jerojane seems a bit odd. They cant really thin this new port will become a trading hub with only Vilita/Turori, Warkus, and ourselves in close proximity and the port being in a very avoidable location as well. Truly it makes no sense until one looks closer at the big picture.

Leoingrad is another claim that makes no sense, especially from a nation seeking acceptance into the CCS. It is in such close proximity to our base at Noth that even missiles the Leorudans could afford to build could find their mark. Again they can not possibly hope for naval superiority in that arena. And surely they do not think that CCS membership will keep us from protecting our own trade interests. Right now we control more than 97% of the trade between the Salamantic and eastern areas of the region. That will not change easily.

And then there is New Tournet. Once more the Leorudans have chosen a site well within an arena we have just opened up ourselves. And this base also serves to be yet another flaunt directly in the face of Starblaydia.

Now add New Leorudo and New Mathdon which are both seriously in the heart of Falcanian interests. The look at New Undavil and New Almintora which both find themselves in Vilita’s realm of influence.

Leorudo claims these ports will be of strategic trade value, yet only New Undavil and perhaps New Mathdon make any sense for those roles. I, for one see something far more ominous.

There are currently four major players in the region. Starblaydia (Leorudo, New Tournet), Falcania (New Leorudo, New Matdon), Vilita (New Almintora, New Undavil, Jerojane) and ourselves (Jerojane, Leoingrad, New Tournet). And New Undavil just happens to stand between Valanora and any desire they might have become involved.

The Falcanians have buried themselves beak deep in this and are convinced they hold all the strings to make Leorudo little more than a puppet. If that is the case and this is a power play by Falcania, this game has just gotten very dangerous for us. However, if Falcania are being led by unseen strings, things are far worse. If that latter is the case I can not help but wonder who would have the means to be controlling this game we are playing.

I have our eyes and ears everywhere and will let you know once more information has come to light. If you have need of me I will be visiting our friends in Wight.

Dear King Reun III,

As you obviously know, the progressive party of Warkus tends to not affiliate with the royal family. Since we are the people who ousted your family from power, I can perfectly understand any animosity you have towards me.

However, I am looking for assistance with international issues (Which may soon turn deadly). I am willing to offer anything you may need, so please hear me out.

Leorudo has recently claimed land in seven areas across Atlantian Oceania. They have also claimed that their expansion will allow for increased trade and prosperity for their nation. However, the only port I see that has any trade value is New Undavil.

All of the other ports seem to have connected Leorudo with all of the big boys in AO, ASMV, Starblaydia, Falcania and Vilita. Jerojane also seems to connect them with us, which worries me even further.

From the looks of things, the Falcanians seem to be holding Leorudo by the strings. This is bad, very bad.

As you may already know, relations with Falcania have not been very good since we declared full support of Starblaydi delegation, and made official threats to their supporters. They easily have the power to destroy us with the click of their fingers. While we may not be their number one target, the power they've obtained is frightening.

I would like to ask you and your family to start making official visits in the following nations:

Starblaydia (Please travel there yourself.)
Andossa Se Mitrin Vega (Send your closest heir, Prince Kosn.)
Vilita (Send a trusted family member who you think would make a good diplomat.)

Please do your best to improve diplomatic relations in these nations. You also have the right to establish any alliances with these nations, but please contact me beforehand.

I understand that these demands are sudden and may be inconvenient, and I apologise for that. Our nation's safety is at stake, we need to act fast and work together.

Aldwyn Beven
Prime Minister of Warkus

Black was one of the "frequent flyers" on the shuttle service to New Shirley. It was a prestige that many in FLIE aspired to. Black said it gave him a headache.

So, not for the first time this year, he was in a briefing room at the Citadel. Vintage furniture, he noted. Not like the offices at Featbridge.

Still, an audience with the Falcon was not to be sniffed at.

King Falcon was known for his easy-going demeanour. It played well with the populace in a nation where armed revolution was more or less codified in the constitutions. Falcanians did not have elections for their politicians, but they voted for their governments with their wallets - and they voted for their royalty with their rifles. He swept in, almost at a saunter, open-necked shirt and chinos.

"Ah, Mr. Black. Thanks for seeing me today."

"Of course, sire."

"Director of Central AO..." Falcon sat down at the table. "That's normally just Starblaydia and their manoeuvres, isn't it? Good to keep an eye on them. But your job's changed a bit lately, hasn't it? Take a seat, by the way, please."

Black sat down. "Yes, sire. This Leorudian expansion has been a particular thorn."

"Yes, that's why I wanted to talk to you today. I'm sure I don't need to tell a man of your stature that this has made some of our neighbours a little bit twitchy. Starblaydia seems indifferent - probably because they share a land border with the hub of this nonsense. But the DSE aren't too happy with this. We're still negotiating for the admission of Leorudo to the CCS. We're organising this now - I've locked a dozen of our finest graduates in a meeting room with a coffee machine and a pizza guy, they're hammering it out as we speak. And now, as far as the Presidente Commandante is concerned, Leorudo are popping up naval bases all over the region - in particular, in their back garden. You know how territorial they get about their sovereign waters - nearly as much as we are over our skies. I think they're wondering why they weren't consulted about this. And then I got to thinking - why wasn't I consulted over this? Please," he cut off Black's answer. "I know I broadly approved this expansion. It could be good for Falcanian interests. And it has been. I've been on the phone to the Treasury - they're broadly pleased with all these lovely contracts you've been signing. Could be very lucrative. But the question I'm asking myself, Mr. Black, is which friend I would rather lose - the Royal Princess Estrianii Raelea Vega? Or President Balone? Well, Balone's on a very shaky political ground, but on the other hand, Estrianii is a very good dancer. So that's what I'm putting to you, Black. After this meeting I need to go and mop up a minor incident concerning our having been snubbed by some travelling Warku royals. I'll leave this in your hands, Mr. Black. By all means, carry this expansion through. But you should definitely make sure you can drop it. Instantly. Should you receive a message from my office. An email, a phone call, a text message. Hell, I believe we have a protocol for smoke signals? The point is, when I tell you to drop this, this is dropped. Scrub the Falcanian flags, wind up the contracts. You may even need to recall the Raptor. Make my life easy. You're not a knight, yet, are you? It can be arranged."

"Say, have you been watching the developments of the regional map, conflicts, and politics the last few months?"

"Nay, been far too busy paying attention to the World Cup Qualifying. Why, something drastic been happening lately?"

"Well, ASMV has expanded somewhat, following our own expansion, and the microstate of Leorudo has gone and made essentially city state naval ports all over the region, after being invited into the CCS."

"Hrmph, well as long as none of that is near us..."

"Ah, but there is one that is directly in our shipping lanes to the north and at a spot where we usually refuel and resupply. Our allies have not made in direct stances against it, but I am becoming increasingly wary of these movements. How soon until they are embolden enough to come into our sphere of influence? Already we've had this new nation pop up in the north."

"Well, we can't act against the whole of the CCS, we don't have that sort of manpower despite our technological superiority and if Starblaydia is not making a move, we need to stand pat until they do. If this Leorudo thinks they can just set up port on Arrosia though, they will be met with the full might of the Vanorian military machine upon them. That I can gurantee you, Tobias and the Military Council already don't like sharing the continent with these new neighbors to the north. Any sort of imperialistic move onto Arrosia, long known as being within our influence, will undoubtedly be seen as an act or war."

"What shall we do then."

"I'll relay this information through the proper channels, imagine we will end up going to DEFCON 4 as a result."

Gregory Vilari had been one of the first workers sent to New Almintora when the colonization went public in Leorudo. When he had arrived, he had helped build the fifteenth dock station on the Grand Portgate near the center of the city. He had been granted a nice little house atop one of the many housing complexed constructed, and dispite the annoying aspect of hulking construction projects looming in the distance, the area inwhich he was located was fairly subtle. Markets and buisnesses were located throughout the skyscrapers just like back home in Leorudo, along with dozens of elevators. Gregory worked for Morcavi Industries , which happened to be located near the same structure that he helped build when he first arrived. His job involved operated a crane that moved crates from the ships to the loading bay for the trucks.
"Morning, Tom." Greg said to Tom Muldanno, a coworker who worked in the loading bay.
"You see the World Cup game yesterday?" Tom asked, taking a final swig from his coffee, knowing that a conversation was at hand.
"Which one?" Greg asked. He was not much of a fan of football but he understood the game and make general assumptions.
"Starbladyia and Kulverint, hell of a game." Tom said. He was one of the Leorudians who still supported the Starbladyian squad, a commonplace before Leorudian AFC came into existance, and many Leorudians still supported their geographical nieghbors.
"Nah, who won it?" Greg asked.
"Starblaydia, of course. I wouldn't be talking about it, am I right?" Tom joked.
Greg told him how true that was an that he needed to check in with the office for the day, and he went off.
He walked into an industrial office that operated his area of the port, signing his name onto the clipboard before saying good morning to the secretary, an older woman named Karen.
"Do we have any coffee left?" Greg asked Karen.
"I believe there's some in the kitchen." The secretary responded.
"Thank you, Karen." Greg took a detour, poured himself a cup of joe, and headed towards his crane.
After a few minutes of setting up his crane and getting clearance from the operater he began to move crates to trucks. Just another piece in a much, much larger puzzle, and oh howw fragile all of it hung in the balance.

General Orlando Sinita had been working hard the last couple of months, being one of the only college-educated workers on Donald Secladius' little island, he had been tasked with ensuring that buildings did not end up falling over after a couple hours, and so far, he had not steered the citizens wrong in a few weeks, so he thought he was doing okay. Sometimes, he wondered why Donald Secladius was doing this, but hey if things went the way he was told, his great-grandchildren would be rich by the end of this thing. All he had to do was to put up with some horrible living conditions for a couple months and it would all be fine, because the moment Leorudo made an enemy, Mr. Secladius would have made a friend, and with this friend their little island would get both economic aid and militaristic aid. Then when Leorudo's idiotic government turned the entire region agianst themselves, Donald Secladius would rise up as the legitimate leader of Leorudo once agian, plus whatever was left those port cities Mr. Balone was starting, and repay the people who caused his downfall. Sounded like a fullproof plan to the General, but not everyone would find it so. It looked like there was a reason the President only recruited a couple educated workers.

800 Hours, Setoli Military Testing Facility, near Viridus, Leorudo
"Curry, Status report."
"Thirteen hostile signatures coming the left side."
"Distance."
"Uh..almost a kilo out."
"Any airstrikes avalible?"
"We have one Northrup making runs near the presure on Yellow Brigaide."
"How close."
"Three kilometers out, almost cleared."
"How many hostiles did you say there were?"
"Thirteen."
"-explicitive removed-e. Tell Echo Team to make us their waypoint."
"Done."
Commander Fenlop was leading a small patrol in a much larger Leorudian training exercise. Today, they where running a search and destroy-type mission in which they were assigned to keep the Eastern portion of the battlefield secure from an opposing army that was focused on detonating a simulated EMP that would render the war game over. The soldier's helmets also were outfitted to tell the soldiers when they had been shot, and with what. Right now, him and his partner where the at the back of the unit, and they were attempting to meet up with Echo Team, and move up at the target.
"You going to patch me through to Echo Team or not?"
"Doing it."
*static*
"Echo Team, this is Oynx Team. We have located thirteen targets a kilometer ahead of us and we could really use some support."
"Is it important enough?"
"Well, if my unit is gone, then the entire eastern half is gone."
"Alright, lets see, ETA 2 minutes. Echo out."
Commander Fenlop turned back to his partner.
"How long until the Northrup is avalible?"
"About three minutes."
"Is it moving towards us?"
"I gave it the command."
"Is it moving towards us?"
"It appears so."
"Good."
"Sir!" A soldier further up in the patrol exclaimed.
"What is it?"
"Echo Team, within my sights."
"Patch me."
"Done."
"Echo Team, this is Onyx, we have visual on you."
"Good, the thirteen signatures are going to our right."
"You want to flank 'em?"
"Lets do it."
The Commander then turned to his patrol.
"Lets move up towards the signatures, weapons on my mark."
The patrol marched to their west.
Three figures appeared in the distance.
"Get down! Weapons ready!" The Commander hissed to his troops.
The men hit the ground.
"Echo Team, we have visuals on the targets, moving north. Flank 'em now if you are going to." The Commander turned to his troops.
"3...2...1...Mark!"
The assualt rifles spring to life, ambushing the enemy units.
"Three confirmed kills, right there." One of the patrol said.
"Go right. Help Echo Team out."
Then, the noise of an aircraft screamed over head, their bomber had arrived and had fired down.
"Patch to the bomber commander."
"Done."
"This is Onyx Team, how many kills can you confirm?"
"We hit a group of six. All are done now." A woman with a foriegn accent stuttered into the communications.
"Thank you."
Echo Team ran from behind some cover onto towards the patrol, missing a few.
"We have a whole unit on our ass, give us some cover!" The Echo Team Commander said through his communication. He turned to his patrol "Weapons at Echo's Six. Spread out."
Right as the troops moved, all their equipment went dark, a half second later the same messege appeared on everyone's helmet:"Victory to Blue-Black Joint Task Force. EMP Detonated. Report back to base."
"Dammit, what the hell happened?"

"...and the ships are in position to defend. The ports of Jerojane and New Tournet have makeshift operational communiques, while the remaining four ports are using the local ships as their headquarters. We are mainly awaiting orders to send more reinforcements to the ships at your command."
Lt. General Aporus had just been briefed on the status of his colonies.
"Lets get Mr. Balone on the phone." he decided, and within thirty seconds, he was looking face-to-face with President Oliver Balone.
"Mr. President." Micheal greeted his leader.
"Micheal, why are you interuptting me from my ruling?"
"Well, the ships are in position at the ports, and we need to know the next direction of all of this."
"I was thinking that we hold an international confrence." The President said.
"Just an old-fashioned mass messege would be easier." Micheal suggested.
"And cheaper, but that would not seem so...face-to-face, so to speak." The President mused.
"Do we have enough staff to pull of a mass-video messege?" Micheal asked.
"No..." Oliver paused for a second,"mass test it is."
A messege was sent to the respective nations of the region of Atlantian Oceania:
CODE

Dear respective nations,

In this crucial juncture of civilised history, a time in which moral issues confront economic issues on a daily basis, the leaders of the World are forced to make crucial decisions that can shape the future entirity of all intelegent beings. In doing so, international economies can be confused and congested to a complete breakdown at times when it comes to international trade. Well, one step to creating a more secure and productive international economy is having small, isolated, hubs of trade located throughout our region in locations that are benefictual to all nations. These ports would operate utilizing trade based on one common currency (that is the Nationstates Dollar, or NSD) and simple regulations determined by the citizens of the ports themselves, not some faraway private intrest group, but a government that is ran based on the common jugdement of what is the intelligent thing to do. Now, in out region's history, these moral and economic hurdles had been parried by nations such as Andossa Se Mirtin Vega, who have attempted to keep northwestern trade routes calm in the wake of the devestation that was Sorthern Northland Civil War.And too Starblaydia, who has made great strides to improve the quality of the energy that powers their nation and it's effect on the envirnment, and Falcania, for helping develop the land south of Secocia for further prosperity. Now, back to the point, Leorudo, with the voluntary aid of outside sources, has already established seven ports spread throughout the region, and tonight, the nation-state of Leorudo declares it's ports open for buisness. Further offers concerning the development and port rights to the new cities can be discussed on the return address.

-President Oliver Balone

Provisional City of Jerojane, Leorudo, Entertainment District
Jerojane was a tourists' town. It had been designed that way from the beginning. There was a reason the city was planned with an entertainment district two times as large as the industrial complex that was being set up. Much like the city of New Almintora, the skyline mainly consisted of construction cranes, but that would soon change due to the investors that were taking control of the open plots of Earth. Brenden Moore was one of those investors. He had built numerous resorts throughout the World, and now he turned his eyes towards the small expanision project in the profitable region of Atlantian Oceania. This purchase was smart because it was located in a city that was in an ideal spot for outer-region travel, being in the center of the region, and the hotel was located only a few blocks from the airport, so this was smart buy in his mind. The hotel would be complete with over thirty-nine floors stretching up into the sky, but for now he focused on the construction of the fish tank in his lobby. This hotel would be everything he loved in a hotel, and it was one of many new upstarts in the hit-or-miss gold-rush colony.

Leorudo, Leorudo, Capital District
"Still no replies to our communique?" President Oliver Balone asked another one of his underlings.
"No Sir, international intrest is still low." The "underling" said back to the President.
"Okay, how long will it be until we can pay off this debt?"
"Atleast a year."
"Oh joy."
The President sat back in his chair, taking a long breath.
"So now I need some quick restoration." He said to himself, twirling his pen.
He typed an email to "Donut", the head of LDI, asking for a list of not-listed projects, then he thought to himself that for the first time in years, Leorudo would be cutting back on corruption.

Foreign Secretary Tariq Hashashin the Halal Butcher concluded his presentation to President-Dictablanda Baptiste and the Vegai diplomatic party headed by Xylec.

"In conclusion, it is preposterous to accept that a small landlocked and previously unheard of nation with a GDP that small can suddenly in a matter of months claim ports all over the world and have city skylines already developed, allegedly well defended and ready for commercial trading. The President took over in a bloodless coup when the country was apparently in financial meltdown, and now they have a region-wide empire overnight? And to claim that any incurred debt from the unfolding of what must've been six ready-built cities plus a near instant creation of an armada to defend and service the ports will be settled in a year?

"We conclude that Leorudo is simply a puppet of Falcania, even if President Baloney doesn't know it yet. The cost of this project would outstrip just about any nation's financial capability save only the economic superpowers. Leorudo would be in debt to their backers for two hundred years or more. It is most likely that each of these territories including the original one on Lake Bekk will be flying orange-and-one-bend-azure flags within a decade unless someone steps in to stop it.

"We have an agent in the Olympic Tower. Falcanians everywhere. They probably all have tape measures in their pockets and furniture on order for when they move in. We suggest that any negotiation on the future of these Falcanian city states being operated under a Leorudan flag of convenience be conducted with the master nation, the backer, the puppeteer: Falcania.

"From our own point of view, we've prepared this international statement, for your consideration."

QUOTE
The Syndicates of the Broken Islands of Wight reject Leorudan claims on the following territories:

New Almintora
Jerojane
New Tournet
New Leorudo
Leoingrad
New Undavil
New Mathdon

Further, we invite the nations of Atlantian Oceania to reject these territorial claims by Leorudo as without substance and furthering the political and territorial ambitions of a third party nation, unnamed. Since by our estimation the Government of President Balone is no longer the sovereign power in Leorudo, we call on the people of that nation to demand the restoration of sovereign power. In the interim, we recognise the former President Donald Secladius as the last independent leader of the nation, the last legitimate leader of the nation, and therefore, the only authority by which Leorudo is independently represented. We invite former President Donald Secladius to form a Government in Exile, and are willing to host said Government in the city of Spit, Wight, free from harrassment or threat of harm until such time as a democratic and sovereign government is elected by the people of Leorudo.

"How does that sound?"

"What?" President Oliver Balone said to himself.
"Sir, the transcript from Wight, as you asked." The messenger, aged around seventeen, said to the President
"No, why are they so opposed to such a noble cause?" He asked.
"I don't know, Sir." The messenger said, trying to appear intrested in what his commander had to say.
"Get Donut on the line." The President said, with a tone of ignorance. He had noticed the boys' attitude.
"Yes Sir." The boy left the room, only to return a few minutes later with the preferred channel of the director of the Leorudian Department of Defense.
"Oliver." A husky voice came over President Balone's computer.
"Director." The President said, slightly offended by the use of his first name.
"What is it you need from me today?" Came the reply.
"I need for you to do a little research for me." The President said, slowing it down for effect.
"What kind of research?" The voice bounced back.
"I need to reasons behind Wight's negativity." The President said, quicker this time.
"Why?" Agian, short response.
"Well, this is the only response we have recieved, and if that is our only response, the general reception will not be positive." The President elaborated.
"So, are you thinking we formally condemn them? Or do you just want send them a fruit basket." Came the voice, the President thought that the Director remembered how to complete a sentence.
"Which ever one the LDI feels is better." The President said smoothly.
"Okay then. We have two agents already near that region, but we did not feel the direct need to install agents into the nation, because imagine the whiplash if one would be found." It looked like someone pulled out their "Locate Leorudian Leverage" app on their phone.
"They are getting transfered then, wasn't Wight the place that was in the middle of those earthquakes a little while back?" The President asked.
"Yes, but the area seems to have calmed down." The Director said.
"Just find out about the negativity." The President said. He had quickly ended the conversation.
----
"How the hell did they find out about us?" President Donald Secladius said to his aide, tapping on an early 2000's styled laptop.
"I don't know, but they know we are here." The aide responded.
"Do you think we should come out?" The President asked, waiting for the aide's honest opinion.
"Nah, not enough support. Do you really want to have Wight's army agianst the LDI? I mean, I saw some of those blacklisted projects: the chemical weapons, cyberspace hijacking, and even Whiplash, those are all turned agianst us the moment we show ourselves, and if that happens, our only hope will be sheer numbers, we should wait until a bigger nation comes out agianst them. Then we take over." The President considered this, as his original plan was fairly similar.
"Alright, that seems like a decent idea, but keep the weapons on high alert."
----
Two agents sit in an almost empty confrence room in LDI Headquarters.
"So, lets break this down piece by piece."
"Sure."
"So, they think we are control by a third party."
"True."
"Not really."
"Falcanian Debts?"
"Those are not as high as you're imagining."
"Free portpasses?"
"Assumming they can find a port to park in! You know how much international buisness is going to come when this all opens? Quite a bit, and it is not like we won't lose all of our profits! That is only in New Almintora and Jerojane. That is not a problem."
"So why is Wight so pissed at it?"
"I am assuming it has something to do with the colony of New Tournet, taking some of their trading turf and all."
"Well, maybe they are getting jealous."
"No, the old President could have done something for them."
"Records don't show to much trade with Wight, following the disaster and all."
"Of course is doesn't. Considering that the rest of the messege is saying how horrible free elections are and all, I'm willing to bet the old pimp had something to do with it."
"But it seems too perfect."
"How so?"
"It is almost like they are trying to draw us into Spit."
"Spit?"
"The city they want President Secladius to restart his government in."
"How would they be drawing us in?"
"They would find an agent of ours, exploit it, and turn the region agianst us."
"Being an LDI agent forces you to be a little paranoid, doesn't it?"
"Yes it does."
"So, we have this narrowed down to two things, one, they could be jealous, or two, Donald has someone in his back pocket."
"Maybe he screwed one of their daughters."
They both shared a laugh at this as the report was sent to their Director. The messege was simple: Candlestine Warfare is the way to go, but send someone good, they could not be caught.

New Undavil Development Fleet, Aboard the L.S.S. Agridia
It was a fine day to wade across the open water on a brand-new Leorudian patrol boat, one of only four boats transferred from Lake Bekk into the port colony of New Almintora. It was a member of the New Undavil Development Fleet, also known as the first fleet to reach Leorudo's last and most isolated colony. The captain was one Marcell Perolli, one of the lowest ranking captains of a L.S.S. ship in the entire Leorudian Navy, but that wasn't important to him, as he got to command over eighty men. He was leaning agiant a wall in the command room of the vessel, just as he was most days of his voyage.
"Martenelli, Status Report." He said, indicating that he wanted a briefing on his location.
"We are a little more than two days away from our projected location." A much younger sailor said, as if he was reading it from a book.
"We are rounding multiple uncharted islands as of now, and we would be much faster if we were not waiting for those civilian cargo ships..." The sailor said this time with a little fustration at the end.
"Thats enough John." The captain said, turning towards the mini-fridge. He pulled out some pink lemonade, he was not really into the "hard stuff" unlike some of his crew.
He sat and turned towards the window, lost in thought...
"What a nice day."
----
"Mr. President! Emergency!" A young man in a beret ran into Donald Secladius' office.
"What is it son?" The President said, quickly looking up from his computer.
"Five Leorudian-flagged vessels were spotted on the radars approaching our position!" the boy exclaimed.
"How close."
"Approaching firing range, and fast."
"They sent a damn invasion fleet at us, what are they carrying?"
"Looks like two patrol boats and three carriers, either for fuel or..." The boy was cut off by the President. "Units." The President then turned back to his computer and turned on his skype.
He typed in a few commands requesting General Sinita.
The classic skype ring filled the room.
"Yes, Donald?" Came the voice of the general, crackling through the speakers.
"General, we have a Leorudian invasion fleet entering our waters."
"What? They've found us?" He said quickly, obviously more awake.
"It looks like it. They are approaching firing range fast. Get the men online and arming the guns."
"Do you want the New Hayesalian special?"
"Why not? What've we got to lose?"
The "New Hayesalian Special" was a weapon that was using agianst Leorudian in the Wicksteed Campaign. The weapon was designed to reduce the amount of signatures a projectile sends off. They were going to fire a bunch of missles, but on both radars it would only show around two missles.
"Should we alert Wight?"
"Do it."

To the Government of Wight,

Hello, and I am Donald Secladius, and would like to take you up on your offer to reestablish my government in your nation. However, I am under fire by the Leorudian Navy, and me on my crew will team up with you an uncharted island sent to you enclosed. I will have over two thousand people with me, so be prepared with the appropiate transportation. Sorry about the haste involved with the letter, but we are under fire.

Thank you for helping restore Leorudo,
President Donald Secladius.

*four minutes later*
"Fire on my mark! Five, Four, Three, Two, One, Mark!" General Sinita yelled out orders as missles fired from the masked cover of the special.
The missles had been fired at both patrols boats, which would be followed by multiple rounds at the cargo ships. Stuff was about to get exploisive.
----
"Captain, we have a situation." One of the Captain's aides said to him.
"What is it?" Captain Perolli asked.
"A tiny outpost settlement thing is firing missles at us."
"What?" The Captain exclaimed, shocked.
"Well, we must have passed by it without noticing it, but it is armed, and firing missles at us." The aide said.
"Return fire!" The Captain said, as he said that, he looked out the window to see an explosion on the other patrol ship.
"Sir, first missle making contact, twelve seconds!"
"Brace for impact!" The captain exclaimed. Instead of one missle, fifteen Atlas missles slammed into the vessels' hull.
"That wasn't one missle, Private!" The Captain said as he stumbled to his feet.
The aide was slumped over his controls. This was not good.
The Captain reached for the communiques back to Leorudo.
"Mayday! Mayday! This is Captain Perolli of the L.S.S. Agridia, we are under fire by unknown forces, send immediate assistance! Patching you through the data."
*Multiple explosions are heard in the background.*
The ship was going down.
----
"Donald, it is the right thing to do." General Sinita told his President.
He suggested wiping the settlement from the face of the earth in the form of an extremely large time bomb, the largest non-nuke weapon in the President's inventory.
"No...We will need all of these." The President said.
"You know as well as I do that if anyone finds this spot, Wight and everyone else will reject us." The General said.
"Please..." The President said.
"We have to do it." The General said.
"Fine. Set the timer."
*Hours later*
...
An armada of small rafts floated towards the new island where Wight would pick them up. Women, children, everyone. The settlement was gone. A small explosion had destoryed all their work, but they would be in peace now.
----
Leorudian Broadcasting Station, Nightly News:November 20,2012
"Today, in what is being called one of the worst naval disasters in Leorudian history, five ships en route to New Undavil were hit and killed by unknown forces. Leorudian investigation units are en route, but for now, little is known about who did this too us. More than one hundred-sixty military and over three hundred civilian are confirmed dead, while an unknown number are missing. The government has stated its outrage and that a full-scale investigation is in progress, but for now, we don't know who or why Leorudian citizens are dead."
----
"Mr. President."
Oh, had it been a long day, another person was knocking on his door.
"It is designed to open." He said, showing that he would let someone in.
A familiar figure entered the room.
"Hello General."
"Nice to see you, Oliver."
"How are you?"
"Still mad about you ending my Gaveo vacation, but alright."
"General Micheal Aporus, why are you in Leorudo?"
"I took the first flight out here because I saw the data. I know who did this."
"You do? Who?"
"Well, they used a New Hayesalian-styled Loki. I shot a few down in my old Wicksteed Campaign. The only ones who have access to these are LDI, and the only ones who have had access to the LDI are..."
"Us."
"Or Donald Secladius."
A silence swept across the room.
"Well, we picked up heat flares from the location hours later, so it looks like whatever they had there, it is gone." Micheal said.
"Anything in the area?"
"Uh, nothing that we can really track, if they left, they did a good job."
"Dammit."
"So, about that agent in Wight, is he moving to Spit?"
"How do you know about that?"
"I'm your third highest-ranking general. I know things."
"Well then...yes, he is moving to Spit."
"Good. If we can get the slightest piece of evidence supporting the Donald is in Wight, then we have public support."
"Since when are you the PR guy?"
"I ran the Wicksteed Campaign. Enough said."
"Point taken."
"Thank you, and get your ass back to New Almintora."
"Yes Sir." Micheal did a mock-salute and walked out the door.

"So, now that we're working together, what'cha think about this?" said King Reun III, handing a piece of paper to Aldwyn Beven.

"...So it looks like we're not the only ones that seem to understand the situation" Beven thought to himself. "Hmm...I can't help but completely agree with them on this." said Aldwyn Beven. "Yeah, I agree too, but what're we meant to do now? What's our next move?" Reun III asked. "It's simple, we take our stance and stand behind it. We've got more of an idea of what's going on, so it's time to take further involvement." Beven said.

Aldwyn Beven quickly wrote something down, and handed it to King Reun III.

The Socialist Democracy of Warkus seconds Wight on their stance regarding Leorudian land claims.

We also second their support of the true sovereign power of Leorudo, former President Donald Secladius, as opposed to President Balone, who we believe no longer holds sovereign power in Leorudo. We formally claim support for Donald Secladius, and offer to assist him in establishing government. We formally claim support for Wight and their claims, and offer to assist them regarding the Leorudian crisis.

"...So we're fully supporting the guy?" Asked Reun III. "Yes, precisely. I'll alert the other nations in Atlantian Oceania immediately." Beven said.

'Warkus and Wight are sided with Secladius, and believe Balone holds no power in Leorudo. What's your stance, sir?'

Andrew Browne was at home, playing a video game, when he got the datalink call from his right hand and Head Moderator, Stephen Jones.

'What's this about Balone? I'm about to play against Starblaydia in Football 2012! It's the cup final!'

'I think this is a little more important. We're going to debate our stance in the forum tomorrow, and I want to know what side you're on!'

'Oh, I see. So, the basic gist of the situation is this: Leorudo have constructed a bunch of really awesome trade cities, and people believe that they didn't do it all by themselves. Wight and Warkus think that Balone and his government are but puppets, and that Secladius is the true leader of Leorudo. Correct, Jones?'

'Well, it seems like that, sir.'

'So, what about the other cities?'

'Well, the closest one to us is aptly named "New Leorudo". It's a nice, shiny trade hub.'

'And what's this about Secladius?'

'He's nowhere to be found. He might be going to Spit, however.'

'Spit? As in, Wight?'

'Yeah. So, the question is as follows, sir: Do we support Leorudo's seemingly-not-their-own expansion claims, or do we believe the current President is a sham and that Secladius should be ruler of Leorudo?'

'Give it more time, Jones. We'll have to wait and see.'

Andrew dropped the call and continued with his game.

Hmm... i wonder who were the voluntary sources.
Well,we should recodnise their expansion, after all they are in the CCS.

Someody knocked on the door,an officer came in with another paper

It had been just thirty minutes into the debate, but The Forum was already ablaze with opinions and arguments. The voice of the people, these two hundred men and women, were deciding one thing – whether they agreed with the actions Leorudo had taken.

Sharon Edwards, member of Freenex, and Moderator of Wonzinsteppes, stood up to the podium.

'It's simple, people! Leorudo have done nothing wrong! They are a small country, and should be allowed to expand! It doesn't help that Starblaydia and Austenersey are choking it's ability to grow!'

Anthony Smith, EconoSol MP for Falcinfolk, rose from his seat.

'I agree. Also, trading with this country is making us money! Can't you all see this? It's fantastic!'

'I do see that, Mr. Smith,' said Andrew Browne, 'but the problem is it isn't them doing all this! Balone is merely a front for something much more sinister!'

'That's a load of rubbish. How do you know this, Mr. Browne?'

'Wight thinks so. So do Warkus.'

'That's it?' Sharon cried, 'That's all you're going on?! The fact that some other leaders wrote a letter? Oh, please. Anyway, what of Savski Venac?'

'Ah yes, Ms. Edwards. Savski Venac. That country that calls everyone “comrade”, and sides with Falcania? What about them?'

Cheers erupted from the Synditek Benches.

'They accept Balone as President, and they recognise the authority that Leorudo has in their new territory.'

'But he's a sham! If Venac are working for Falcania, then so is Balone! It's blindingly obvious that Leorudo is merely Falcania's Mercenary force! Have you seen the dossier on that flying aircraft carrier? No, you haven't, because you aren't The Administrator!'

'Now now, Mr. Browne,' spoke Anthony Smith, 'There's no need for what seems to be a personal attack on Ms. Edwards. We can all understand your anguish, and to be honest, we at EconoSol are divided. We understand the barriers to trade that accepting the Leorudo Situation could create, but we also understand the barriers it could create if it didn't. So, we'll see what happens when we vote.'

'Okay, so the vote is as follows!' said Will Hastings, the independent vote counter The Forum had hired. 'The votes for the acceptance of Balone and the sovereignty of Leorudo make up.... 42% of the vote! So, by popular vote, we are against Balone and his reigime! Long live Secladius!'

'Ahem, that's enough, Hastings. Right, so let it be known. I'll compose a letter to the other leaders.'

Dearest leaders of Atlantian Oceania,

I report to you at a time of great instablility. We here in The Inevitable Syndicate believe in freedom and justice for all, and we believe that Leorudo is not receiving these things. Therefore we reject the claims of land made by the current Leorudo government, and join our brothers Wight and Warkus in demanding the restoration of President Donald Secladius and his government. We also offer Secladius and his government free passage into our lands, and, if they do so wish, a permentant position in Tracy Gardiner's office, as I don't like her.

Your friend indeed,

Andrew Browne
Administrator of The Inevitable Syndicate.

"What evidence are these leaders basing their analysis on?" The President said, reading over the multiple condemnations agianst him.
"Sir, from what the LDI has gathered, they seem to think we are doing something illegal." An advisor explained.
"Such as?"
"Working for Falcania."
"Well, thats all? Almost every government has worked with another government before! That is why they are agianst this? And then they want to work together to STOP us? That is hypocritical! That is-" The President's rant was interuptted by another advisor.
"Sir, they doubt they legitimacy of your rule."
"Why?"
"I don't know, I'm pretty sure they think Secladius was forced out of office."
"Why on Earth would they think that?"
"So, we have to do a little public relations work. Fun."

To the nations of Atlantian Oceania,

Regarding the condemnations of Wight, Warkus, and the Inevitable Syndicate, the government of Leorudo is appalled by the allegations made agianst the Leorudian government, military, and people as a whole. Allegations stating that Leorudo is
A) A puppet nation of Falcania
and
B) The governing party of Leorudo is invalid and is agianst a democratic process.

In response to these claims:
A) Leorudo is a self-governing and self-sustaining nation. It has been doing so since before you were born and intends to do so long after your demise. To indicate that Leorudo is operated by another nation is wrong and flat-out ignorant. Regarding the nation of Falcania, any information regarding our contact will be mailed out to you at your request.
B) This indication is flat out wrong. The former leader Donald Secladius was voted out of office after his second term as President, and the people selected our current President Oliver Balone in a fair and unbiased popular vote. Any further information regarding our electorial process will be mailed to you at your request.

Furthermore, the lack of direct proof indicated by these nations regarding their
"claims" furthers Leorudo's own claims that these nations are opposed to the progress of the entirety of Atlantian Oceania as a whole.

And a note to our former President Donald Secladius, wherever he may be:
We have recieved further information regarding rouge missles shooting members of your own navy. We are outraged and disgusted by such an act, and we further condemn any nation that gives this traitor of a man refuge. We will take military action if nessecary, as the lives of the Leorudian people are non-negotiable. We believe it will be nessecary that he is returned to Leorudo for a fair trail.

Thank you for your time,
President Oliver Balone

Well, that was done.

"Well, this is going to put a thorn in our plans.." said King Reun III, sharing the information with Aldwyn Beven. "This could have the potential to be much worse than we originally thought," Reun continued, "Either Balone is the most incompetent president to have ever lived, they're making a poor attempt at covering up their lack of sovereign rule, or they're actually not puppets of Falcania."

"...That's bad. Very bad." said Beven, shocked. "If they're not directly working for Falcania, then that means...No, they have to be puppets..." Beven said. "It's still a possibility, and that scares the life out of me. We just need to act cautiously from now on, people's lives are at stake here." said Reun.

"...You're right. We just need to think this through, it's still entirely possible that Balone is a bloody idiot and that they're merely Falcanian puppets. It wouldn't take much effort to make a reply to Balone's comments, nor would it take much effort to display his lies across all of Atlantian Oceania. That's not what I'm concerned about." said Beven. "But what are we going to do?" Reun asked.

"We need to get in proper contact with Wight and The Inevitable Syndicate. Open our doors, and offer them our support through the Leorudian Crisis. We need to unite with them to face this ever-growing threat. I'm going to make formal contact with both nations immediately, and try to organise a formal meeting of some kind." Beven said.

My Dear King Falcon,

It has been overlong since we sat down to discuss the finer things this life can offer. Perhaps we should do so very soon. It would do my soul much good to know that our little friendship is as strong as ever.

I will say that it has been nice to see you finally making strides in a region wide manner. Falcania has been long over due for such status and recognition. I must admit that it was a work of pure artistry as you thoroughly neutralized your largest domestic threat. Jay Industries was and is a stroke of genius as it essentially killed two birds with one stone. And that with neither bird knowing they are dead. Brilliant.

I am, shall we say, not as optimistic or enthusiastic about your new marionette and the fuss it is causing. If trade were the only issue… How again were these new points of interest chosen? Surely it could be no more than coincidence that their positions are perfectly aligned to neutralize every major player in the region. You and I know, and a few others could guess, that money is what has you hooked into this. No other reason makes sense. But all see the marionette and its alleged master. Most do not care for that at all. Save the Venacians that is.

Have you ever noticed that a bird will often attempt to gather a shiny bauble, much to its own detriment? I do hope that you are indeed the master of all this. It would pain me to know that the marionette had laid this shiny bauble for you to latch onto knowing full well that some hidden force would allow it to become master and dangle you from the strings.

Again, I think we should meet soon. Much there is to be discussed.

Estrianni,

My dear, you are correct in one thing - it has been far too long. I trust the orange tree I left you has flourished. They take a long time to flower, but their fruit is the better for it.

Ser Herberd is, I trust, very happy in his psychotic little experiment. We've walled them in, we let them have their rallies and their marches, and throw a truck of mouse carcasses over the wall every so often. Proverbially speaking. It goes against my core, to know that Falcanian men and women are being oppressed, without the freedom to choose their destinies. I sense I may have to encourage an uprising soon.

Regarding Leorudo. Much more is being made of Falcanian involvement than is in fact the case. It is a simple arrangement. Falcanian infrastructure firms have secured lucrative contracts paving the way for Leorudo's expansion. They're mismanaging it all to the mist. A massive overextension - I do not expect them to be able to meet their debts. The defaulting clauses are severe. Balone is naive. Secladius was naive. I privately regret the decision to fund this - we have gotten in too deep with these fools. They have the FAV Raptor, dressed up, and they're going to crash it.

I assure you, the only string I intend to pull, is the one that deploys the parachute and ejects this whole sorry mess from our doorstep. The sooner we can disentangle ourselves from this expansion, the better for everyone. I fear I may have to sacrifice an aircraft carrier to do it. This will be... expensive.

Visit soon. I can arrange a lovely big parade in your honour. It would take the people's mind off these affairs - they always like to be reminded that an ancient and noble land is their kindred in the north.

The President listened to this man's dialect, attempting to comprehend what he could.
"President Gajinovich, it is an honour but due to the turmoil in which my nation is going through I am afraid I cannot leave my post. Also, this is a secure line and anything you say on here is between you and me alone-"
Another voice entered the room.
"Sir, we have a situation in New West Guiana."
The President turned around to face his assistant.
"In a moment."
He was obviously not happy being interruptted.
"I am sorry, Mr. President, but my assistant is rather intrusive, anyhow, please continue with you question."
The assistant ran off into another part of Olympic Tower.
"General Lanoe, this just in."
A large, well-built man stood and read over the document placed in front off him.
"Good job son. You are dismissed."

Since most of the people of the broken islands of Wight had arrived just after the Wight Catastrophe, and lived for some considerable time in little more than tent cities, it was no trouble to build a new tent city for the poor followers of President-in-exile Donald Secladius. The city quickly became known as Little Leorudo, population approximately 2000. The hospitable denizens of Wight were quick to provide the city with all possible amenities - catering vans, water trucks, mobile beer vendors, more catering vans, and a hastily erected market on the edge of Little Leorudo offering all the necessary provisions for comfortable living. Generous donors provided vast quantities of blankets and warm clothes for the cold winter ahead, soup kitchens ran 24 hours a day serving the best broth available, and of course there was a carnivalesque entertainment initiative, with great liars, circusmen, profound speakers, children's clowns, mobile cinemas and an all-weather small-form football pitch to keep up the spirits of the exiles. Proper housing would follow in due course, promised the authorities.

Meanwhile President Secladius and his cabinet office were housed in an embassy in the http://www.3wideracing.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2374, where so far no ambassador or diplomat had elected to set up shop. Secladius' embassy building was referred to as The House of Parliament, Leorudan Government In Exile.

Foreign Secretary and halal butcher Tariq Hashashin was explaining the present political climate to his new friend Donald.

"We have official support from Warkus and the Inevitable Syndicate who have pledged to recognise you as the legitimate government of Leorudo, and we have invited them both to send ambassadors here to Cragoe to support both our effort to house a government in exile, and your effort to, well, govern in exile.

"Balone is of course blathering on about military intervention, but we need not fear. He will be up against the full might of the Vegai if he so much as paddles in the waters of Turkish Bight without our invitation. Now, I will be honest with you, we don't have a military force of our own to speak of. We have a scout troop, The Partisan Patrol, but they're up to their neck in Green Jello Salad at present, at some scouting jamboree. We have a minimal navy, the Wight Armada, but no boats yet. The air force consists of one officer and is based at the Wight Kite Flyers Club up on Orwell Island. He has a kite, of course, but it's a civilian one so we couldn't use it in a conflict situation, except maybe to send a signal to the Vegai who will scramble their entire North East fleet if we need it. But it won't come to that.

"There is, um, one little question, Donald. Probably nothing, of course. A misunderstanding, I expect, you'll forgive me for asking but President Baptiste is curious. Um, ever heard of the LSS Agridia? Seems to have sunk, along with a number of other vessels, in a surprise and very well orchestrated attack. Not something you would know about, is it? Only, well, embarrassing really, but it would be terribly awkward to find you had a cache of advanced weaponry somewhere, um, close to, or, so to speak, on, Wight. As I say, I'm sure it's nothing, but any light you can shed..."

It wasn't everyday Foreign Moderator Christopher Arnell had things to do, but today was one of those days. Wight had called to send an ambassador out to help Secladius form his government there, and Arnell had to pick who that was going to be.

Andrew Browne had written in that he desperately wanted to send Tracy Gardiner, Shadow Administrator of party Freenex, as he wanted her out of the country so he could get on with running it. This couldn't be done however, as it wasn't on. Tracy wanted to send Andrew, of course. That couldn't be done either. EconoSol had unanimously agreed on sending a board of the country's best directors, in order to make some business venture with Wight. This wasn't happening either, as it wasn't the time for that.

So Arnell decided to not let his party decide, or his prime competitor, or those shoddy business freaks. No, Arnell asked Pascal Rowling, Shadow Administrator of the Green Party, for his input.

'So, Mr. Rowling, who do you think we should send as an ambassador? Now would also be a good time to construct an embassy in Wight, and also build some embassies here. to open us up for more international diplomatic relations.'

'That's a fantastic idea! As for who to send to Wight, I feel that we should send one of my own - Shadow Magnaeus Moderator, Thomas Lockwood. Magnaeus is a SyndiTek stronghold, so if any election does come up, he's fine in Wight.'

'I see. Well Mr. Rowling, I will do just that. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to notify Wight of Lockwood's arrival, and possibly draw up some other plans...'

'Of course, Mr. Arnell. I bid you good day, and good luck. I fear this may turn nasty if the Leorudians take this the wrong way.'

'I appreciate it. Good day.'

Dear Mr. Hashashin,

We here in The Inevitable Syndicate accept your offer to send an ambassador over to Wight to help Mr. Secladius. As a result, we are sending our very best: Mr. Thomas Lockwood of the Green Party. He will be able to help you out with this, I'm sure. Mr. Lockwood will be in contact with The Forum regularly via Datalink, so should you need to send a message to us, going through him would be the best form of contact.
As we've heard, Balone is talking about military intervention, and we thought we should let you know you have the full support of The Inevitable Syndicate's Air Force, Drone Army and People Army should any problems arise. We may not be the best, but we will not let anybody rain on our parade.

On behalf of your friends indeed,

Christopher Arnell,
Moderator of Foreign Affairs,
The Inevitable Syndicate.

Donald Secladius was walking through his "tent city" with Wight's Foriegn Secretary Tariq Hashashin, making easy conversation when this question arose. Donald judged by the attitude of the question that he was trying to be touchy. Everything involved with his stay in Wight was instantly in the balance. It was time to get political.
"Mister Hashashin, I am sure this matter has troubled you deeply, and I can assure you that this "attack" that is being played up by Balone is nothing of the kind. The event which occurred was this: The Leorudian Navy led an invasion force agianst my safehouse equipped with ground assests and strike missles, and I had no choice but to defend myself. The attack was led by a Leorudian ship, and the invasion was repelled by my loyal forces. Yes, as you might have guessed from the supply crates I brought with me I have the adequate supplies required to sustain by loyal forces. If you would like to use some of these weapons, I would gladly donate a few weapons to your, uh, scout troop, and I would consider it a payment for such generous hospitality."
The President made a mental note to himself:
Get the heavy weapons out of Wight. And fast.

Prime Minister Fredrick Colson and Foreign Mininster Francis Wexfield were meeting in Colson's office in Harrelson Hall named in honor of the first Prime Minister, Marcus Harrelson. Colson and Wexfield were deep in discussion about the recent happenings around the region especially the Leorudian Crisis.

"This is really a huge mess that Leorudo has put together" Mr. Colson said in a irritated voice.

"Yes it is, but we must go over the facts and reasons as to what might have led them to this expansion. Wexfield replied

"True, and I can use these points when I address Her Majesty on Tuesday morning?" Colson asked

"Most certainly and I will get on the phone with the Speaker of the Assembly after we are done here." Wexfield replied hastily.

"Alright lets start with the first thing that stands out... Who is this Donald Seclaudius and why has Oliver Balone taken his position and started to expand so quickly?"

"Well, Mr. Colson..." Wexfield paused for a minute thinking about how strange this situation was in the first place. "Donald Seclaudius was the former president of Leorudo, but he was driven out of office and exiled. Apparently the Leorudian public voted this Balone character in".

"Okay... and this President Balone demanded construction of small port cities all over the AO?" Colson asked with a puzzled look on his face. "How did they manage to fund all of this?"

"The general consensus is that Falcania is funding it, sir" Wexfield responded with a nervous tremor in his voice.

"Good Heavens!" Colson exclaimed. "Do they have the funds to repay Falcania?"

"I...I don't know" Wexfield responded

"Well, it seems to me that either they are being taken atvantage by Falcania or that Falcania is running this operation." Does it directly effect us, Wexfield?" Colson asked hoping the answer would be no so that he could get on with the rest of his day.

"I'm afraid it does... only one of the six ports though..." Wexfield answered hesitantly.

"Is this port city in the way of any of our trade routes?" Colson asked.

"Yes, the city of New Undavil... It is on the way to the ports in the Vilitian Cove and northern nations."

"It is suspicious how quickly these cities popped up... Colson pondered before he asked... "Do we have any allies involved in this situation?"

"We don't really have any allies... as you should know by now... but there are two nations that we have good standing relations with involved." Wexfield replied.

"Who are they and what stand have they taken?" Colson eagerly awaited the response as he remembered that Mantwenic wasn't apart of any alliance or did they have a strong military.

"The Inevitable Syndicate and Wight stand firmly against the actions of Oliver Balone... they are also working with.... uh... Warkus." Wexfield replied trying to remember if Mantwenic had any relations with Warkus... he didn't think they did."

"Well, that does it for me... who supports the actions of President Balone?" Colson asked.

"No one has really given them thier full support... it seems that Falcania has... but thier only funding the entire project... no big deal" Wexfield replied sarcastically.

"Well the only other thing left to decide is whether we think that Falcania is behind the scheme or are they just being friendly..." Colson added.

"When is the last time that you saw a tiny, microscopic nation develop into a trading empire practically overnight?" Wexfield directed the question at the Prime Minister for his response.

Colson thought... "Never" he replied "But, say that they do have the funds to cov.... he was immediately interupted by the Foreign Minister.

"They don't... why else would they go to Falcania for help?" Wexfield stated firmly. "Remember, Leorudo is a tiny nation sandwiched in between Austenersey
and Starblaydia on Lake Bekk."

"Alright, I think Mantwenic has no other choice but to get involved... With that New Undavil taking away trade from us... Colson began

"Well, not yet... everyone in the region is a little skeptical and no one has begun entering the ports... yet." Wexfield assured the Prime Minister.

"Still before anything else happens I believe that we need to go to the aid of Wight, The Inevitable Syndicate and Warkus and ignore the authority of President Balone and recognize Mr. Seclaudius as the president of Leorudo. Colson confirmed. "Now today is what... Friday? I will meet with Her Majesty on Tuesday to discuss it over with her."

"And I will call the Speaker of the Assembly right away to schedule a time... preferably Tuesday or Wednesday were he will address the Assembly and they will vote on what to do. Francis Wexfield confirmed.

"Well, that is done for now." Colson replied... see you Monday morning.

"Farewell, Sir"

Brigadier-General Grade-Two Roger Lanoe had been ascended to military power through an honourable path. Destined to by a military man from the beginning, his father was a commander in the Leorudian Army, and his mother being a engineer in the Leorudian Air Force. After achieving a grant into the Navigatio Academy of Military Science, he trained in the 103rd Heavy Infantry Unit, with him slowly rising through the unit to become it's commanding officer. After his brigaide's commander retired, he was selected to take his place. Then he was transferred to Leorudo's Army of the Mountains, where he was taken under the wing of one General Olivia Lombardo. The general was known to teach the young Lanoe many things outsides of battle tactics, and when she fell pregnant, Lanoe was selected to take her place. Two years later, he earned the rank of Brigadier-General of the Army of the Mountains, and after many years of successful leadership, he was promoted to command of the entire Leorudian Army stationed in the city proper and in the Navigatio Brigaide, thereby making him a Grade-Two General. He had an office in Olympic Tower and a seat in the Velvet Room, so he was a powerful man.

He was also obsessed with meddling in Foriegn Affairs. He loved watching a rebellion rise and sending a crate of weapons here and a retrofitted tank there and make a good profit by the end of it all, which of course he used to buy more tanks and planes for his own army and gain support from upstart nations personally.

Today, he read over the events of the region, West Guiana had a potential rebellion rising, well-cordinated based on the reports. I wonder who could have been involved with that. The Zirakul were rising agianst Andossa Si Mitrin Vega, Good luck with that. Oh, and the Leorudian government was going to be in so much debt he would not have the weapons to start a formal rebellion. What is up with that?

It was an intresting time period, and right now he could do nothing but observe it all.

"I declare the portgate of New Almintora, open to the public!"
Cheers went up from around the platform from which a small man had given a speech about the new port. The city of New Almintora was still litered with construction projects here and there, but from a general perspective the city was fairly complete. The portgate was one of the last projects to be comepleted, with little portions of it operated before hand to ship in materails, but now it was finished, and international ships and planes could access the city.
The only problem was politics.
Well, the Leorudian government had not been doing the favorable thing by constructing an ocean-going port, and the main fear surronding the area was that the port would be black-balled by international companies, nevertheless, Morcavi Industries had it's entire fleet rolling out freshly made New Almintora exports to destinations around the World. A few cargo planes carried imports into New Almintora, but for now, the water was the main way of transportation.
The very first Leorudian ships to trade in international waters held their flags staffed high in the morning sun. Despite all the international outcry and setbacks, today was a great day for Leorudo. It was finally ready.

Xalec Az’huin sat easily across from Wight President, Dictablanda Baptiste. During his time overseeing the renovations and arming of Sa Tu’urk he had developed quite a friendship with the man. But these turbulent times called for diplomacy - not friendship.

“Let me speak bluntly” Xalec began. “We walk a fine rope right now. Your new friends and yourself have been quick to openly condemn Leorudo for their recent actions. My personal opinion is that you are in the right to do so. However, my position does not allow for personal opinions. And your official stance puts us at possible odds with at least two of our CCS Comrades in the forms of Savski Venac and Falcania. We would surely have preferred those odds to have been of our own design.”

He paused to let that statement sink in.

“Rest assured that we will uphold our commitment to defend Wight from any and all attack, should it come down to that. And also rest assured that we do not condone the actions of Leorudo and have them under severe scrutiny awaiting any misstep that allows us to take action more advantageous to us and all our allies. And yes, Leorudo is a delicate situation for us.”

President Baptiste leaned forward. “Did the Vegai not just endorse Leorudo for inclusion in the CCS?”

“Yes,” Xalec smiled. “And such are the political machinations we must navigate - the game we must play.”

It was the President’s turn to smile. “what is it you need of me?”

“That is simple. Try and temper the overzealous new playmates you have acquired. Warkus and The Inevitable Syndicate have both come close to outright jabs directed to provoke Leorudo, and already Mantenwic has picked up their call. Falcania has money, a ton of it, invested in these new ports. I would guess they plan to one day control them directly. Do not think Falcania will sit idly by and watch their money diappear. You will need the Vegai publicly on your side when it comes time to deal with Leorudo.”

Xalec stood. “Now if I may take my leave, I have serious matters at home to be dealt with.”

To the nations of Atlantian Oceania,

Following the recent events that have lead to the city-states popping up around the region, upon which sovereign ground was seizes and spheres of influence ignored, and a general destabilization of the regions, the Vanorian military has decided to initiate a full blockade of two of these city-states controlled by Leorudo. The city states of New Undavil and New Pathdon will be under full military blockade from our combines Navies and Air Force. Any attempts to breach this blockade will be seen as an act of war. Vessels attempting to enter these ports or airports will be giving a warning shot before fired upon. This blockade will only be lifted when Leorudo pulls its entire program from these ports.

Sincerely,
General Duke

Even as the telegram was being sent out across the region, the forces of the Vanorian military machine were already circling around the pair of selected city-states. The Navy would cut off its ports, the Imperial Navy the skies, with the Air Force acting as reinforcements for the pair of Navies. It was the boldest move Valanora had made in its affairs with the outside world in nearly a century, but Vanorians saw the intent of these port cities and it was not about to sit idly by and let it come to pass.

Blue Briefing Room, The Citadel, New Shirley

"All rise for his Majesty, The Falcon, King of-"

"Yes, yes, I know the titles." Falcon hurried into the room, flanked by some aides. The Military Council had convened. In attendance, most of the actual Council of the Nation: Falcon himself; Ronnand Warst, the Chairman of the Nation; also the Directors of the Treasury, Home & Foreign Affairs, Law & Justice, Commerce & Industry, and of course, the Military. Falcon had also invited a grab-bag of High Marshals, Generals, and various other intelligence and military personnel. Notably, Black was leaning against one wall, thumbing through documents on a tablet PC.

"Ladies and gentlemen. The Vanorians have... well. They say that any breach of their blockade is an act of war. But... really, it rather seems that establishing a blockade is, itself, an act of war."

"We must strike at them!" cried General Harker. "We've sunk enough talons into this project, haven't we? Too many to see it fail because the Vanorians aren't happy! They can't just expect to get their own way."

"Why not? We do?" Replied High Marshal Qindle. "This is exactly the sort of sabre-rattling we've been employing for years."

"We never went through with it, though." Chairman Warst pointed out. "Deploying a carrier group to shake up Starblaydia, patrolling a couple of miles outside their waters, that's one thing. They've gone and typed up a telegram. On official letterhead and everything," he noted, drily.

"We have... realistically, two carrier groups on immediate standby." Marshal Strongbeak noted the figures on his clipboard. "That's Feather and Vulture. We can... if it becomes necessary, retask Phoenix from the North-East. And in eight weeks, Hawk will be ready for shakedown. Each one," he said, in the manner of a schoolteacher, "should have the capacity for a prolonged engagement on an entire land/air front, and sufficient resources for a series of counter-naval movements."

"We know that, thank you, Strongbeak." Falcon sighed, and pinched his beak high between his eyes. "We... need the Raptor back. That's our number one concern. Then we can tie off these loose threads, declare ourselves merely businessmen, not political agents. You know the lines, 'just good business sense, no intentions to control territory,' type of thing." He drummed his fingers on the desk, in thought for a moment.

He caught Black's eye, and nodded.

"The Feather is going down to..." he tapped a spot on the map. "Area 16. A couple of hundred miles north of the Vanorian blockade. Then-"

He was interrupted by a young clerk bursting into the office and throwing himself at his feet. "Pardon, my Lord Falcon, there's a message from Foreign." Falcon becked the lad to his feet, taking the sheaf of paper - at the same time that most of the mobile phones in the room buzzed.

"Sky above us all..." Falcon murmured as he read it. "Zirakuli partisans starting a civil war in the north? This is..." He paused. "I need to contact the Princess. Warst," he pointed to the Chairman of the Nation. "The plan still stands. We're sending a ship to police the blockade. Keep it friendly, you know, 'just here to help ensure that the highest standards of blah blah blah,' and one last thing - not the Feather. The Vulture. We may need to send the Feather north again."

He swept out of the room. Black silently detached himself from the wall and joined him in the corridor.

"My Lord Falcon," he muttered. "I'll have my men start winding up Jurassic."

Falcon nodded, and Black melted away.

"Sir...wake up...something is happening."
Captain Fredrick Meladius did not lake being woken up in the early morning, but if Commander Livingston woke him at this hour, something was important. He slowly opened his eyes, groaning in the process.
"I am getting to old for this." He muttered to himself as arose to his feet.
"What is it, Commander?"
"We have a large naval force entering the area."
"You have the scans?"
"Here they are, Sir."
"Yes...okay...Valanora...entire naval fleet...offical notice of blockade...heading straight for us." The Captain muttered as he marched towards the observation deck, flanked by Commander Livingston, telling him various stats.
The captain reached the top of his deck, and he scanned his vessel. He captained the L.S.S. Coalitus, named for a past President of Leorudo, Percy Coalitus.
It was the fifth strongest vessel in the entire Leorudian Navy, for that reason is was pretty much just his ship and a few patrol boats to defend the entire colony of New Mathdon. His ship was a Littoral Combat-Type vessel that was best for defending coastal area and making quick-strike missions agianst enemy vessels before retreating back into position.
"What are our odds agianst the Valanorian Navy?"
"We might take a few ships out, but we would eventually go down."
"Odds of reinforcement?"
"Little to none."
"What is the 'little'?"
"Well, Carrier Group Fourteen is a ways out, but they could help."
"Would they?"
"No."
"Okay then...should we challenge them?"
"It might be better for the cause if we stayed."
That sentence hung in the crisp midnight air like smoke on water.
"Lets send them the offical cease and desist."

"Mr. Morcavi, your seat is ready." A waiter dressed in a perfect tuxedo adressed James Morcavi, the man who had reserved his seat in the Outlook two months in advance just to meet with the head developer of an LDI project that could put his shipping operation years ahead of the competition. Even after the Lake Bekk helicopter incedent, if he was going to make money from these ports, he needed the government's help, and they needed his. He did, after all, fund these projects every April.
"Good evening, Mr. Morcavi." An older woman adressed him.
"The same to you, Ms. Peteli." He said, flashing a simple smile.
The two sat down at a table overlooking the skyline of the Leorudian Industrial District.
A waiter approached the table.
"Would you like to sample our selection of wines?"
"No thank you." The woman across from Mr. Morcavi said, gesturing for the waiter to come back at a later time.
The woman was in her late sixties, small glasses and a thin, worn face. She had obviously lived a long and complicated life.
"So Mr. Morcavi, what are you willing to propose in exchange for one of my instruments?" The woman asked as plainly as she could muster.
"A believe a total of 500,000,000 Monetary Units are in order for your UBL Account, consider it a "donation to the studies of technology" or something of the sort."
The woman nodded, writing a note on her paper.
"Mind my asking, but what do you intend to do with these devices?" She asked, trying to sound as honest as possible.
"I intend on getting my carriers past all blockades."
"How does my device help that?"
"It doesn't, it gives shows me as something else."
"Do you have contacts with the Valanorians?"
"I like to think they would be friendly, but you never know."
She smiled at this. This man was an upstart in the world of politics, but he was a career buisnessman, and he knew how to deal with people in a way that made them want to know what he knew.
He smiled. He continued.
"It's kind off funny, why are these other nations so angry? When Wight literally destroyed Northeastern trade routes out of the AO, and then we want to start some ports where we can increase trade in the areas, the nations either envy us or hate us for something we have done in the past. I would never make a good politician."
She raised her glass of water.
"I can toast to that."
The waiter approached them agian.
"So, are we ready to decide?"
"I think we are."

'...with Valanorian Forces occupying the ports of New Undavil & New Pathdon. The Valanorians have made it clear that making any attempt to breach this blockade is as an act of war. How will the Syndicate respond? Only time will tell. In other news, New West Guiana...'

Christopher Arnell didn't like getting up so early in the morning, but he was sure the people he was going to meet with didn't either. He didn't have time for breakfast, so Arnell brushed his teeth and stepped into his car.

'Mr. Arnell, you're late!'

'I'm sorry, Mr. Browne, I got here as quickly as I could. If you'd have let ISIS given me priority on the roads, then-'

'I know, I know. We have more important things to talk about then that. Did you hear the news?'

'Yes, I did. How did ILN find out before we did?'

'Mr. Arnell, we were asleep. That's how they found out. From observation. We did get a nice letter, though.'

'I know, Mr. Jones, I got it sent to me this morning. The question is, what are we going to go about it? It's fantastic that the Valanorians have actually stepped in and done something, but the ports they've blockaded aren't even close to us.'

'I know. Something needs to be done about New Leorudo and New Almintora. We can't really touch New Leorudo, as that's too close to Carpathia & Ruthenia. But New Almintora...'

'But Mr. Browne, I don't think our drones reach that far...'

'The Hive is moveable. Mount on some sort of truck, pretend to make a peace offering, then BAM!' Andrew made some scrunching actions with his hands, to simulate what would happen.

'And think what a hit we'd be if we did that!' interjected Mr. Arnell, 'The amount of paperwork!'

'I agree with Arnell on this one. It's too dangerous for us to do anything at the moment. But, Arnell, any word from... Well, you know.'

'Oh, the Wellstood Initiative? Yeah, we do have word from them. They've told us loads about Leorudo's military expenditure.'

'Brilliant, Arnell!' piped Browne, 'I knew your spy network would help us win!'

'Jones, tell him it's not a spy network. Well, it is, but... It's not mine. Anyway, I'm try to get them out of Leorudo, as I fear their actions may have been compromised.'

'That isn't great. Arnell, Jones, I have to go now. But I will write a statement of my reaction when I've had time to mull these things over.'

The three men said their goodbyes, and left, almost as quickly as they had arrived.

War Council

The words made Frank shudder. Never in his time in the military had such a meeting been called.

And yet, here he was, entering the appointed meeting room, situated near Upson Square - likely under; the actual location, while near the Civil Service’s central location, was officially a state secret, hidden from even the majority of the War Council.

Not even the Chairman of the General Staff, one General Francis M. Connell, Chief of Staff of the Legalese Army, knew where he was going. Felix just hoped it wasn’t a sign of things to come.

---

While the War Council had never met before, the premise of it was rooted in history. Since the early days of Legalese, joint meetings of the elders and leaders have been prevalent. The founders of Francis City, Numalia, and Ellentown, respectively from the three tribes of Brittanics, Nom Le, and Goli, would meet to settle issues between the towns and tribes, leading to the eventual neighborhood swapping, the creation of the first High Court, and ultimately, the nation. Thus, with the current structure, the War Council was a meeting of the minds: the military aspect consisting of the General Staff - that is, the Chiefs of Staff of the Army, Navy - more of a Coastal Defence, really - and the Air Force - along with the elements of the Civil Service, the bureaucracy/technocracy that makes the federal government work, and keeps the trains running on time, so to speak; the domestic elements were generally not necessary for this work, so the representatives in this case consisted of two: the Director of Foreign Service, and the Director-General of the Civil Service - effectively, the Head of Government.

The High Court generally chose to stay out of such matters, and thus did not send a clerk.

---

The Director-General looked around the table, a weary look in his eye. To Frank, the look said “I’m too old for this”, and for good reason: he took the job twenty years ago, back when General Connell was Corporal Connell, nearing the end of his training and minimum service time, and considering going career.

“Barnes,” he said, motioning to the Director of the Foreign Service. “What are we hearing from the diplomats?”

The senior diplomat nodded. “The Vegai and the Falcons have agreed to let in an odd assortment of nations to their little alliance. joining Savski Venac are the Farfadillians, Svengarda, and most importantly, Leorudo. The latter is both odd and sensible at once, considering the Vegai’s friends in Wight, who have condemed the Leorudan expansion; this would put the Wightlings at odds with Falcania, who’ve appeared to provide support to Leorudo - not sure how else they would manage it.”

“However,” Barnes continued, “there’s an additional concern. The Vanorans have dispatched naval forces to blockade the ports of New Undavil and New Mathdon. Both are far to the west and south, and thus out of our areas of concern, but the bigger concern here is who they could affect - namely, the New Mathdon port, which being near Jay Industries, is likely to be a good way for Falcania to ensure their investments pay off. An economic disruption there could lead to trouble, which brings the Vegai into the mix - either as an active partner, or by their complete lack of a check, owing to their own civil issues.”

The Director-General nodded. “And where do the Starblaydi stand? As far as I understand it, their relations with both the Vanorans and the Vegai are positive.”

Frank tried not to roll his eyes as the Director of Foreign Service replied.

“Very true, Sir. That said, if they were to get involved, I suspect it’d be to side with the Vanorans, considering their feelings towards Falcania. At any rate, they appear to be silent. Reiner suspects that they’re dealing with internal issues, especially after the passing of the Lord-Protector’s sister.”

Good, Frank thought. Let’s worry about the real problem, and remember that we have other interests to worry about, like our southern border.

The Director-General thought for a moment. Finally, he spoke.

“Barnes, keep on Reiner, and tell him to keep his eyes open. If the purple horde moves, I want to know about it.”

He then turned to Frank. “General, how does this affect our military?”

Frank stood. “Very little, Director-General. The bulk of our force is land-based as it is, so some far-flung ports are not a major concern. A naval and air war that doesn’t take place over our soil is one that we’re best sitting out, as the General Staff concurs.”

Frank didn’t have to look back to see his fellow Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Kevin Robinson of the Navy and Marshal Charles Bragg of the Air Force, nodding. They had agreed on this plan prior to coming in.

The Director-General nodded. “Very well, General, we’ll do nothing with regards to war, other than wait and see. Now how about the situation in West Guiana?”

As Prime Minister Fredrick Colson was driven to Landover Palace for his weekly meeting with the Queen he couldn't help but smile. He and Foreign Minister Francis Wexfield had organized the facts on why Mantwenic should assist in stopping Leorudo's expansion and the forty-two person assembly was going to vote on it later today. He was sure he could persuade the Queen of the necessary measures that needed to be taken. The vehicle he was riding in came to a stop and a guard opened up the car door. Colson stepped out, nodded slightly to the guard and proceeded through the opened door to the palace. He was then escorted to the meeting room where the Queen was to meet him. He walked in bowed slightly as he greeted the monarch. The Queen proceeded to ask him how his family was and they talked about what nice weather the capital city was having. They then agreed that it was time to discuss the matter at hand and so it began.

"Mr. Colson, I am not quite sure what to think of this Leorudo expansion... it seems so... wrong." exclaimed the Queen.

"Yes, your majesty I happen to believe the same and I think it is time that Mantwenic decide what our move is going to be". Colson said quite confidently.

"Really... and what have you concluded?" The Queen asked him.

"Well" Fredrick began "Foreign Minister Wexfield discussed and I tried our best to organize the facts and it seems clear that Falcania is behind this expansion... they are the ones funding it... and either they want to take advatage of Leorudo or they are using Leorudo as a puppet."

"Interesting" the monarch replied "but what does that have to do with us making a move?"

"Well, I am glad you asked" the Prime Minister replied. "Our friends Wight and The Inevitable Syndicate have joined with Warkus in outwardly refusing to acknowledge Mr. Balone as the President of Leorudo and they are prepared to do whatever it takes to stop them."

"But if Falcania is behind all of this... then these small militaries would be going up against...." the Queen started to say

"Yes, well that is where we come in" Colson replied. "We need to go to the aid of our friends."

"Mr. Colson I think you need to take a step back here and realize that we are only in the beginning stages of a solid freindship with these two countries. I think you need to realize that jumping into a full blown crisis with these nations might not be what is best for our relations with these countries."

"But... your majesty... the Prime Minister could tell that this was not going the way that he expected.

"Mr. Colson... what more do you think needs to be done... the Vanorian forces already did what needed to be done to the ports that affected us and them. They access very similar trade routes that we do I am sure and they were alarmed by the "pop-up ports" as we were and they sprung into action which we would have done if we had the forces that they do... but we don't... and I don't want to send our forces into something that would surely crush us... if we messed with them."

The Prime Minister was silent... he couldn't think of anything to say.

"Plus, the monarch added we don't want to befriend all of the nations nations that have small militaries and make enemies with the biggest forces in the region!"

"But, we can't sit on the wall and let Leorudo keep expanding!" the Prime Minister exclaimed.

"That is what countries like Valanora are for... they stand for the same thing we stand for and they have a larger military force than we do... let them step in... I agree that Mr. Balone is wrong and in fact I support the former President Seclaudius instead. However, we cannot afford to get involved in something as ugly as what is abput to occur" the Queen added.

"The Assembly is voting today on whether or not we should take action."

"And as you know Mr. Colson I hold the right to veto anything that I don't like."

"Yes, your highness and as you know once you veto the act it can be voted on again and with my stamp of approval it can override your veto" Colson said rather proud of himself.

"Be careful what you do, Mr. Colson... the election for Prime Minister is coming up... if you handle this the wrong way you may find yourself out of office."

-----
In the Assembly, an advocate for taking action addressed the forty-two members on how immediate action needed to be taken and that it could not wait... of course he couldn't vouch for the Queen's opinion on the matter but anyway after the advocate's rousing speach the Speaker opened the voting. After a few minutes the final vote appeared on the screen on one wall of the Assembly.

FOR TAKING ACTION: 26
AGAINST TAKING ACTION: 15

-----
The Prime Minister had just recieved the call from the Foreign Minister about the vote. The Prime Minister then explained that they would need to vote again to try to override the Queen's veto. They both agreed that this was much harder then they had originally thought.

"I cannot believe I am doing this." James Morcavi joked as he took another sip of his wine. It had been four hours since the CEO of the largest shipping empire in Leorudo sat down with an LDI Project Director for dinner, and what had started as a buisness negotiation had turned into a brainstorming conversation about Mr. Morcavi's political career.
"You will do great! The people will love you! You are a self-made man who takes initiative and at the same time can relate with the average worker. That is why you should run." Ms. Peteli told him.
"But I have no political party!" James exclaimed.
"Political parties in Leorudo are dead! The Expanision Party is ruined because of Mr. Balone here, and the old party lost it's base when Secladius' secretary came out, the only way to go is independant!" The woman exclaimed.
"Wouldn't that require too much money?" James said, trying to weasel out of this.
"Consider my donation of 500,000,000 Units into the James Morcavi for Tommorrow Fund from my personal bank account." She stated, much to Mr. Morcavi's amazement.
"You would really do that?" He asked.
"You really should do this." She said.
"One condition, your my advisor." He stated. He had given up and was running.
"That is a deal." She raised her glass, and the Presidential Campaign of Mr. Morcavi had offically began.
----
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dU_in_BNJlg plays in the background of Morcavi Tower, the largest building in Leorudo. The building was also going to be the headquarters of the 2012 James Morcavi Presidential Campaign.

It was time for a launch party.

A banner was hung up in the lobby next to Mr. Morcavi's picture: "Democracy. 'Nuff Said." It was 9:47, and the party was just starting. It was very unprofessional in Ms. Peteli's eyes, but James insisted that he wanted to run a down-to-earth campaign.
"...And today, I wanted everyone to get out and get people ready for a new President in the next two weeks!"
The speaker was reffering to the Quarterly Vote, a vote in which if the current President did not get 25% of the popular vote, a new President could be elected. This was the plan.

It was late, nonetheless the 95X President's personal staff, working on behalf of the 95X Board of Directors and the nation as a whole, released the following statement:

95X Official Communication
To: Every nation in the Region of Atlantian Oceania
From: Rick VanBuren, President, Nation of 95X
Re: Resolution of Possible Conflict from Leorudian Expansion

As a peaceful, domestic-focused, commerce-oriented, and sports-loving nation, 95X regularly welcomes not only new nations to the region but also supports innovation.

Previously, nations have innovated the region through discovery of previously unknown islands, creating puppets or colony nations that are different in name however have their own non-contigous map claim and are ultimately controlled by a master nation inside or outside our region, terraforming existing lands to make them more productive to their endeavors, and even made lands such as Tachbe and Sorthern Northland uninhabitable through nuclear testing.

Therefore; we believe Leorudo's land claims are not only within the realm of possibility for the region, but also represent the same innovation that brought us to this time in the region's history.

We realize others may be unhappy with Leorudo's actions. We believe that those nations should use innovation instead of military power, to encourage the betterment of the region.

Make no mistake–95X is neither supporting nor opposing Leorudo. As the location of the nation's mainland as well as the air and sea space in question is close to 95X (especially Cascade Island and our major city of Cascadia, located at the Southern tip), we are very interested in a satisficing resolution to this conflict. If Leorudo was in any way associated or affiliated with 95X, such would have long since been openly disclosed.

We welcome any nations seeking a friendly neutral site for peace negotiations to please consider 95X for such business, and hope the conflict is solved in a prompt, prudent, peaceful and professional manner.

Cordially,
95X President Rick VanBuren

"Beven? What're we going to do about the Gold Army?"

"Hm? That little Warku pride terrorist group?"

"Yes, sir. They're planning to occupy Jerojane!"

"Cool. This is going to make things much simpler..."

"What'ya mean by that?"

"We still have a lot of the new weapons from before, right? Give them some support, this should work out well."

"...But, aren't their goals a little...Different from yours?"

"That doesn't matter now. Let's help them on this one, and that's an order."

'So, any news concerning anything?'

'Well, Mr. Browne, 95X, Mantwenic, and Legalese have all made comments on the Leorudo Situation, Legalese and 95X isn't concerning themselves with it for the time being, and Mantwenic are having a hard time convincing their queen to take action.'

'Great. I hope Mantwenic sees our side of the dispute, and joins our cause. As for Legalese and 95X, we have no problems with them, do we?'

'Well, it depends. You know of the New West Guiana Situation?'

'Oh yeah, isn't there a civil war springing up there at the moment, Arnell?'

'Yes. Legalese is having trouble with it, as all the action is happening up north. Our borders are fine for the time being.'

'Ouch. Poor Legalese. Hope they come out of that unscathed.'

'Quite. Anyway, the other thing that's happening is that Warku 'forces' are occupying Jerojane!'

'What do you mean by 'forces'? You had an odd emphasis...'

'Yeah, technically they aren't forces. It's more of a terrorist group.'

'Blimey. It's a little like that Monopoly card, isn't it? "Terrorism in your favour. Collect 200 Megabytes."'

'Indeed. So I figured it was time we did something, what with Wight housing Secladius, Valanora blockading up the place, and Warkus occupying Jerojane.'

'What a good idea. I'll call a meeting with Williams, Arnell. Want to be in on it?'

'Well, who else will be there?'

'Williams, of course. Also Rowling, Gardiner, Spires, I'll bring Jones along...'

'Hmm. Yes, I'll be there.'

'Brilliant, Arnell! I'll talk to you later then!'

'Indeed. See you soon, sir.'

Christopher realised he was going to have to fill in a lot of paperwork.

The Emir had his hands tied. He had never wanted to be a ruler, let alone be a royal. Painting was his thing. Yet here he was, sitting on the throne, surrounded by several other members of the royal family and a few of his advisors. In front of him, the Darmeni Governor General of the nation, the guy who pretty much told the Emir what to do, was demanding that the Emir send his Army to invade the Leorudians new settlement, New Tournet.

"...Emir, it is imperative that you take control of this island. The Leorudian claims of peaceful expansion are nothing more than a coverup for a more sinister operation, possibly the takeover of the entire nation of Naitpyge. A pre-emptive strike against the Leorudians will render them incapable of such a feat, and will also expand your own territory."

After waiting for the Governor General to finish speaking, the Emir spoke, the first time he did so during the whole meeting.

"And why exactly must I go to war? The Leorudians have made no threats, either with their words or their guns, towards my people and nation. We have no reason to kill their young men, and remove them from their new settlement."

The Governor General paused for only a moment before answering. "Emir, I don't think you understand the situation. While Leorudo is a member of the Confederation of Common States, they really can be considered nothing more than a puppet of Falcania..."

The Emir interupted the Governor General, erupting into a furious rage. "JUST AS I AND MY NATION ARE A PUPPET OF DARMEN! You have done very little to help my people, my nation, and indeed myself even. All that your nation has done is to use our ports, our military, and our business, to make yourselves richer. I can not allow that to go on any longer!"

"Emir, I must admit, that the former Governor General and the Darmeni Government have failed you in several key areas, doing little for the wellbeing of you and your people. But things have changed, both here and in Darmen. Atlantian Oceania is no longer a safe place like it used to be. Several forces have readied themselves for battle, and there is no reason for you and your people to not be ready for a possible invasion of the Islands of Naitpyge."

"Forget the other nations and the Leorudians for a moment, Governor General. What exactly can you promise me and my people if we do invade New Tournet?"

"The Darmeni Government has already passed a bill in Parliament authorising the spending of 15billion Babas in the areas of education, health care, and public transportation. We believe that that is enough to bring your country into a new age."

The Emir had heard this before, but he had faith in this new Governor General. He was much more friendlier than the one who had preceeded him. Still, he had his reservations.

"And this money," started the Emir, "we'll get it whether we invade or not?"

"If you do nothing, the money will be diverted to Earo, a nation which has been much more sympathetic to our aims. But even if you do as little as mobilizing your Army and your Navy, you can expect to receive at the very least, a third of the money promised. A blockade, which I hear the Valanorians have opted to use against the Leorudians, would guarantee you at least two thirds of the money. But you won't receive all of it unless you invade."

"How long do I have to decide?"

"The Darmeni Government would like a decision before the end of the year, when the Constitutional Convention is expected to begin in full swing."

"You shall have my decision by the first of December, Governor General. Good day."

"Good day to you as well, Emir," said the Governor General, before turning to leave for his office. He had thought that he had done well, but only time would tell.

"Sir, we're being hailed by the Captain of the Leorudo navy presence at the port of New Undavil. They are issuing a cease and desist order and are saying any movement into their area of jurisdiction is an act of war. What is our response?" The commonications officer asked Admiral Talthael of the Subjugation.

Talthael stroked his chin at the relay of information. It was a bold move for such an overwhelmed force. Just three carriers at this port, along with a good division of the Imperial Navy's Curfion fleets and the Air Force X-series multipurpose aircraft in support. The trio of carrier groups at New Pathdon had similair support and he imagined that they were likely receiving the same sort of message from whatever token force was stationed there as well.

"If that is their choice of action, then it will be war. We're continuing on with the pressing of this blockade and if they fire upon us, we will fire back. If it's war that they want, they will have to make the first move. All the same, have all vessels have men at their battle stations. While they might get the first volley, it will be the only volley they get off before they are sunk. Scramble the planes as well, I want them ready to torpedo those bastards out of the water the minute they even think about firing."

The Subjugation, Truth, and Providence and all of their support vessels were given the commands and were sounding the alarm for crew to man their stations. Aboard two of the three carriers, the X4s were being fueled and armed for a torpedo assault, apart from Truth who was arming their planes for aerial superiority roles.

At New Pathdon, Defiance, Atlas, and Reconciliation were arming as well. They were expecting some sort of resistance as well, either from Leorudo or their supposed Falcanian masters. In Raynor City, Tobias Raynor waited anxiously for any news from the Dark Bows or the Military Council itself. While they had finally listened to reason and performed an action against this sinister plot, he still had doubts they were ready and willing for a full scale war, with it being nearly a century since the last full fledged engagement Vanorians were apart of, when there was no commonwealth and just the Elven people.

That's why he had his own private military in the Dark Bows, what they were not willing to do he would see to it. Peace it seemed was going to have to be paid for in blood.

Foreign Secretary and halal butcher Tariq Hashashin was entertaining the ambassadors aboard the Wightling state yacht, the Armada Ship AS Red Herring. It was a hastily converted former fishing trawler that still had a fragrance of the open sea and Salamantic cod about it. The vessel was even now entering Turk Bay, the deep waters between the north and south arms of the island of Wath. It was also the deep water access to the Sa Tu'urk Naval Base, home of the Vegai's North Eastern fleet. They watched as a sea squadron of Vegai ships returned from manoeuvres in Turkish Bight with an impressive display of naval might, such that one might imagine the whole display was pre-arranged for some reason of political expediency. Fighter jets buzzed the tower of the lead carrier, cracking the air with sonic booms.

The Foreign Secretary paused momentarily in his monologue, allowing the diplomats of Warkus, the Inevitable Syndicate and Mantwenic time to take in the show of military strength.

"Here's the thing, good fellows," he continued, eventually, "all the big guns are on the move now. The Vanorans have been the first to blink, sure. But the Falcanians are in this up to their feathery necks, and we know the Vegai have wheels in motion, even if the wider world can't see them yet. As for Starblaydia? Mark my words, history will prove it was the Purple Empire that kick started this whole incident. If you think they are sleeping, you are very much mistaken. So there are four superpowers right there locking and loading. What chance us in the big game? None.

"I urge patience, my friends. We have a game within a game to play. Let us politick, and wage a war of intrigue. There is everything to be gained from playing off the giants one against the other, and nothing at all from biting one of them on the ankle."

====================

President-Dictablanda Jean Baptiste had joined President-In-Exile Donald Secladius down at the tent city of Little Leorudo. Despite having perfectly comfortable accommodations in the diplomatic quarter of the Cragoe District, President Secladius seemed to prefer to manage his administration right at the heart of his exiled people. Something which certainly impressed his host, the Dictablanda.

"Allow me to be honest with you, Donald. It's been terribly interesting having you about the place. Really shaken things up. You won't be surprised to hear you have a lot of international support, although the superpowers are - not unexpectedly - reserving judgement, presently. And that brings me to my good friends, the Vegai. I won't lie to you, we have an excellent relationship with them. They tell us what to do, we do it, they give us things. Protection. Information. Other things which I can't mention in polite conversation. It's win-win.

"Now I thank you for the offer of arms and of course we will gladly store a few things for such times as we actually have a military - probably when the scouts come of age in a few years - but I must be plain, we are not interested in taking a military stand on the Leorudan Crisis. We've got a big sister in a dragon outfit for that, and she's armed to the teeth. As various ambassadors are probably finding out, just about now.

"I'm trying to convince your new-found allies among the smaller states that we'd all benefit from taking a good step back right now. I feel I've set the cat amongst the pigeons - and falcons - by setting you up on our cold grey rock of a home, and your erstwhile countryman Balone is losing his grip on power already - there will be a challenge soon, mark my words - so the best thing we can all do here is watch with interest. Four superpowers knocking their heads together will provide opportunities for the smart ones, like you and I. You could inherit your little state, and perhaps even win some of the surrounding territories. Who knows? You may even get to keep one or two of these Falcanian city-states that Balone thinks are his!

"For your part, I think a few incendiary statements might stir things up a little more, and if we can get a superpower to back your government in exile, so much the better.

"Ah, Donald, don't worry about what's in it for us. We are but a modest island, with a modest people and no hunger for territory. For us, it's just the game."

"...and Valanoran naval assests expected to break the line within the next few minutes."
The President was being briefed in the Velvet Room. It was a war council.
The only person not in person in the room was Donut, the head of the LDI, and he was talking using a holographic head.
The President turned to the holographic head.
"You have anything of intrest?"
"Well, we have a couple elves as spies in the Valanorian military, but they couldn't really help us here. In New Mathdon we might have a few armed party boats, but our main evac out of there is fleeing to Jay Industries colony, then to Falcania."
"No secret projects?" The President asked.
"Not there." He responded.
"So, the LDI can't help us much here. The army is not in that area yet. The airforce has their hands tied, and the navy can't spare anything. Looks like its time for a little regional assistance. Boreli, type up a messege to send to our CCS allies and another to the World when the fighting starts. We need to be ready."
----
Captain Fredrick Meladius had been on the helm of his ship, observing his crew before battle. He had http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZul_mSFczs blaring through the speakers, because his aide told him that was a common favorite of the men. The guns were armed, and the moment the Valanorian ships crossed the line, all of the ships in the fleet where going to fire multiple rounds at a single chosen target, and then proceed to the next one. He also had the evac boats ready, so that if Valanora wanted to observe international law, they would ride to shore, and then flee to Jay Industries along with all other major people. Meanwhile in the settlement, the civilians were preparing for a war. They had barricades and sandbaggs ready to go, with them holding the town hall as their stronghold. They had a few armoured divisions dug in for defense and a few Leorudian Army units. The civilians had been hastily equipped with shotguns and Molotov Cocktails to guard close quarters areas, while the few trained sniper pairs lined the evacuation lane for people to make quick exits of the settlement and head via plane to a Falcanian colony to the East. If the Valanorians attacked the city directly, it was going to be bloody.

The thrum of the engines was deafening. But, as Thunderstrike mused, stealth aircraft never worked like you'd think they'd work.

"Vulture Nest, this is Thunderstrike, copy on preflight. Nightbirds ready to fly."

"Thunderstrike, we have Sharpstar on theatre, contacts confirmed. Three-Oh-Three PreyIIs bugged out, clear Vanorian anti-air supremacy. Those carriers have some mean tech."

"Copy, Vulture Nest. Clarify mission profile?"

"Flight Three-Oh-Three are holding a pattern around Sharpstar. We have supremacy over the coast surrounding Vulture Nest, but not, repeat, not over expected theatre of battle. Leorudian ships are expected to run the blockade just off sector 3. Sharpstar has AWACS coverage of this area but it outside theatre. If the Vanorians encounter Leorudian vessels, then - repeat, only then - will you be given the scramble order. Scramble profile: strike at Vanorian vessel Defiance. Three-Oh-Three will cover your retreat. Strictly a hit-and-run profile. Repeat, strictly hit-and-run."

"Roger roger, Thunderstrike copy."

He turned to Rainbow, his wingman, who was in the FX1 on the runway next to him. "What do you think, Rainbow?"

"Eh. Wouldn't want to tangle with an X-ray in this," he replied, referring to the state-of-the-art Vanorian fighters. "Those things are good. PreyIIs will mop them up, though, as much as I hate to hide behind Three-Oh-Three's skirts."

"If we had Starfires, I reckon we could take 'em."

"Could go either way. No, you heard Vulture Nest. We're playing bombers today. Drop the torps, light the burners, and go home. You ever killed a boat before?"

"Nope." Thunderstrike grinned inside his helmet. "First time for everything though."

(OOC: This RP has a fair dose of fluid time, so those dates might not be right for you, just ignore them and continue RPing as you were.)

The Emir, several of his advisors, and one of the leading Generals in the Naitpygian Army, were gathered at the Emir's private 18 hole golf course, par of 72.

The Emir pointed to one of the advisors, "Take the first shot mate. And in the meantime, General, could you give me the low down on this whole situation."

"I sure can," replied the General, as the advisor who was up first sliced his tee shot to the right of the fairway. Another advisor got ready to take his shot. "First off, let me start by saying that not long ago, Andossa Se Mitrin Vega and Valanora both expanded their own territory, in fact the Vegai took control of the South Wath Militarised Zone sometime in early September, located not far north of our own nation."

"Does that affect us?" asked one of the advisors, watching as his fellow advisor smashed his ball almost 250 yards. It was now the General's turn to take his first shot.

"Um, as far as I know, no. The Vegai have pretty much stayed up north, protecting their own trade from pirates I guess, I haven't seen any reports of issues up north. Now, as far as the whole Leorudian incident, it all started on October 20th, when then President David Secladeus of Leorudo stepped down as President, and new President Oliver Balone replaced him. Balone is, was, whatever, a member of the Expansion Party. New Tournet, one of several areas claimed by the Leorudians on October 24th, is located just to the northwest of Henderson Island. Apparently it was claimed to 'deal' with Northwestern trade."

"What do they mean by 'deal'?" asked one advisor, who was teeing up his ball following a 300 yard drive by the General.

"Well, originally we thought they meant 'deal' in a 'do away with' manner. But now we think they just want to take a chunk of our trade, and of other nations around us, and use it for themselves. And then there's also the Falcanians."

"You said the claim was to deal with Northwestern trade, right?" asked one of the advisors, after watching the other advisor take his tee shot.

"Clearly the Leorudians aren't masters at geography, and in addition, don't seem very good at formal writing either, or their spelling," replied the General, as he bent over to tee the Emir's ball up.

The Emir got ready to swing, but stopped and asked, "What next?"

"Well, on the night of October 31st, it seems the Leorudians tried to move several Battleships and Cargo Ships out of Lake Bekk and into the eastern portion of the Vilitan Cove. They did this with helicopters."

After watching the Emir hook the ball to the left of the fairway, and throw his club down in anger, one of the advisors spoke up. "Geography, F. Spelling, F. Language Arts, F. Foreign Diplomacy, F. Marketing & Economics, D-. Mathematics, F. And Military Arts, F. Quite a country if I do say so myself." The advisor then teed up his ball, he was the last to do so.

The Emir spoke up, "And we're taking this country seriously?"

"Darmen demands that we do. They say that Leorudo has some powerful friends, and that those friends have friends, who in turn have friends, and so on," answered the General.

"Continue," said the Emir, not really wanting to hear more, but knowing that he had to.

"Anyways, sometime between the 31st, and November 13th, when the ports were opened to international trade, the Falcanians, or at least we think it was them, must've offered help, because the areas claimed by Leorudo had been mostly finished and opened, and the Battleships and Cargo ships were out in open waters."

"How does this affect us?" asked the advisor who had just finished his swing, as the others in the party begin to move towards their balls.

"I don't believe that the Leorudian Navy poses any major threat to us, but if they wanted too, they could definately harras our merchant vessels and coastal areas."

"And what's the strength of our own Navy?" asked the same advisor.

"Enough ships that we could probably take care of them at the current time. In the future however, we would definately need more aid from Darmen. Anyways, on the seventeenth, Wight, one of our northern neighbors, and strongly reliant on Andossa Se Mitrin Vega for defense due to the handover of the Southern Wath Militarised Zone, declared that they considered all of the claims of land as illegitimate. They also welcomed David Secladius to form a government in exile in Wight. It seems that Secladius took them up on that offer. On the 20th, several Leorudian attack boats were destroyed by unknown forces. However that date corresponds with the date that Secladius left or came to Wight, suggesting that he might have been chased out of his hiding spot."

"Does this affect us?" asked the Emir, hammering his second shot to a point about thirty yards in front of the green.

"It doesn't seem so, but it certainly spices things up. On the 21st of November, Warkus joined Wight in considering the Leorudian expansion as illegitimate. And on the 22nd, the Inevitable Syndicate added their names to that same list. On that same day, Leorudo issued a communiqué stating that Balone was indeed the rightful leader of the nation, something the three previously mentioned nations all included in their statements. The communiqué also included two other points, that information on the relationship between Leorudo and Falcania would be released on request, and that information on the electoral process would also be released on request. I think that's something we should ask them to do."

"Has anyone already done that?" asked an advisor.

"If I recall correctly, no, no one has done that yet."

"We'll do that then," said the Emir, as he licked his finger and held it in the air to try to judge the direction of the light breeze.

"Well, on November 23rd, Civil War began in West Guiana. Other than a few preliminary reports from the nation, it seems pretty quite there right now. We expect Legalese to be a bit concerned, considering the first attack took place close to their border. But that conflict doesn't seem to be related at all to much larger conflict at hand, at least not yet. On the 25th, the Vanorians began a blockade of New Undavil and New "Pathdon", which is what they seem to be calling New Mathdon. The Leorudian Navy issued a cease and decist order, but by the 28th, we realised that the Vanorians were ignoring this order and pushing on. Between those dates, Zirakul declared independence from Andossa Se Mitrin Vega, which puts a bit of a strain on their resources should they get involved in this whole conflict. And 95X issued a statement on the 27th basicly supporting the Leorudian expansion, stating that it had been done before. But they said their position wasn't final, nor official."

The General paused to take his shot, which landed softly on the green, no more than 20 yards from the whole.

"Continuing on, we just learned today that the Leorudians are preparing for battle with the Vanorians, and that the Falcanians are joining them in this."

"And we know that the Falcanians are up to something how?"

"Satellite imagery provided by Darmen. They say that the movements being done by the Falcanians are looking pretty offensive, and that they don't look anything like normal peacetime maneuvers carried out by the Falcanians."

"So it looks like war, huh?" asked one of the advisors.

"Yes, and with the Falcanians most likely focussing on the Vanorians, any invasion by us against New Tournet would likely be between just us and the Leorudians."

"May I ask how we got all of this information?" asked another advisor.

"From SPIES," answered the General.

"Yeah, I figured we got them from spies, but who do they work for?"

"SPIES."

"So these spies work for other spies?"

"No, no, no, SPIES. Security, Protection, and Intelligence of the Emirate State. It's basically our IG-2."

"Ah, never heard of them."

"You shouldn't have, they are spies after all."

"Huh..."

"Never mind. What's our plan of action Emir?"

"After hearing what you and the advisors have said, I have made my decision. When is my next meeting with the Governor General?"

"Not for another two weeks," replied one advisor, as his putt found the mark.

"That's too long. The War may very well be over by then, and we'll have missed it. The All Island Balú Championship Final is tomorrow, correct?" asked the Emir.

"Yes, Sir," answered the advisor.

"Invite the Governor General to the match, I'll tell him then."

The advisor nodded, and made a note in his pocket book.

Meanwhile the General made a comment, which none of the others seemed to hear.

"My, my, this will sure put the CCS in a sticky wicket."

The Emir finished the cerimonial duties which he was required to perform, and sat down to watch the final of the All Islands Balú Championship, between Henderson and North Goat. There weren't many fans from Henderson present, they were all preoccupied with the new Leorudian settlement not far to the northwest of the Island.

The Emir looked behind him, just in time to see the Governor General enter the Emir's private box. The Emir greeted the new arrival, and the men sat down next to each other just in time to view the kickoff.

"I hear you have made your decision," said the Governor General, who flinched a bit as the Ruck of Henderson put a huge hit on the Forward from North Goat.

"I have," said the Emir, after watching Henderson win the first ruck. "After consulting with one of the generals in my army, and a few of my closest advisors, I have decided to send the following ultimatum to Leorudo, and copies of it to all other nations in Atlantian Oceania, and of course a copy to Darmen."

"I wouldn't exactly call this an ultimatum, more like a World Assembly Resolution," noted the Governor General, carefully reading each point, while on the field, Henderson had just got out to a fast start and scored a deuce, going up 2-0.

"It's just buying us some time. I don't want to invade New Tournet, seems like it'd take a while and a lot of resources. Rather, I've decided to see if we can't settle this whole thing peacefully, and try to get a few deals done."

"Darmen won't like this as much as an invasion, but it's certainly a start in the right direction. They'll especially like the last point, leaves room for improvement if you catch my drift."

"I do," replied the Emir. "Shall we send the message out now, or wait a bit?"

"I'd say now," said the Governor General. "December 1st is in only two days, so if you want to allow time for delegates to arrive, I'd do it now. Just add a few details about the meeting to the end of the 'ultimatum' as you call it. That should do."

The Emir and Governor General stood up, and the Emir bid his counterpart farewell. Meanwhile the crowd errupted in a loud roar as North Goat scored a goal, taking the lead, 3-2.

(OOC: Before you scream "God-Mod!" this was made with the help and approval of Warkus and done mostly in one post to limit drawn out interchanges, so when I roleplay as his characters and act for them, he has approved and edited what he thought fit. This is all because multiple storyline are beginning to develop within the roleplay, and it may become to difficult to follow if too many different pieces are inserted. Also, this is mainly a military roleplay, so if you don't feel like reading it all, just read the first paragraph and the last paragraph, and you should probably get most of it.)

Jerojane was a small but nice colony, spread out across a beachfront with a large infrastructure dominating more and more the further inland you traveled. It was one of the more advanced port cities in the Leorudian expansion, and was quickly a popular tourist destination. The city also was the second most defended colony of the seven, due to it being of strategically importance. Recently though, a small but armed force had arrived in one of the more shady areas or the city, and it was becoming to be a problem. The commander of the civilian police force had sent a team to investigate, and when only two of the men came back scared to death, a full scale military surpression operation was being put into action, Operation Doctor's Order, as it was being called, was the first major military operation in Jerojane.
"Gentlemen, I am Sergeant Timothy Mikita of the 13th Training Air Wing stationed at Jerojane, and I have been instructed, along with Commander Forelo of the Army, to demonstrate to you young men what service to your nation is about."
The commander turned his back to his new comrades.
"When I finish a statement a expect a response."
"Yes Sir!" Came the response. He could tell they were fairly new, as their formalities were coated with that fake excitement from soldiers who still are scared of their first drill sergeant.
"Well then, I am here to inform you that our fine city of Jerojane has a small problem on it's hands."
Silence. The Commander choose just to continue on.
"Well, we have confirmed a few hundred lightly-armed insurrectionists in the Vekilo District, and a join operation has been called into place."
He clicked a button, and his powerpoint presentation flashed on the board.
An outline of the district was done in red.
"We have these areas on lock down as we speak, no one gets in or out." The Commander said, pointing at the red lines.
"We also have a few locations of possible headquarters of this group."
Multiple yellow dots spread out across the map, all within the red lines.
"Now, I have been instructed to assign the commanders of each unit here with the plan concerning who hits which possible locations of the insurrections, meanwhile my air wing will encircle here, here, and here." He said again, four more blue circles appeared on the map, all overlapping.
"The individual aspects of each aircraft will be up to me, but they will be your eyes in the skies."
"So remember, these are not plastic dummies shooting training rounds at you, this is live stuff, so remember, don't die."
A few hollow laughs went out of the room. They were winning brownie points.
"Well, I've done my job, your dismissed." He said, sitting down in his office chair, watching the soldiers file out of the room.
----
"Alright guys, lets do this." Officer Pirini said to his unit.
They were being escorted through the streets in armored vehicles into the area.
His squad consisted of himself, the commander, a medic/engineer, and three standard infantry units.
"Tommy, what time is it?" He asked one of the soldiers, supposedly named Tommy.
"Around four, why?"
"Well, this is the squad's first real mission, I want to savor it."
"I hope it isn't our last."
"That's up to you and me, so, when this is over, I have a seat for you at Oleni's."
"That's good, the AOCAF is going on, right?"
"Yep, Leorudo isn't faring too well."
"I don't care about Leorudo, how is Starblaydia doing?"
Another Leorudian who still rooted for Starblaydia.
"How the hell do I know, The Roar is my team."
"Whatever, you know the Purp's would obliterate Leorudo if they ever placed face-to-face."
The driver leaned back over his seat, before saying something.
"Hey guys, I hate to break up this entertaining discussion, but we are almost at the infiltration point."
"Well, lets get on it." The Commander flicked off the safety on his weapon, before turning him back towards the door.
"Three, Two, One."
Daylight flooded into the vehicle as the door were slammed open, the team filed out.
The Driver took the vehicle and drove it too cover.
Their objective was set.
----
Erik Hogan had signed up in secret to Warkus' Gold Army in the hope that he could create a better future, but instead he was off in the middle of some foreign city defending a pointless building that was habiting something that was well beyond his clearance. Oh well, he had to just sit atop the warehouse with his sniper watching for anyone to trespass his street. He had never shot anything besides a dummy, and he hoped that for the duration of his tour he did not have to shoot anyone.
His walkie-talkie clicked and his commanding officer's voice crackled through.
"Benny, some soldiers are entering the area, get ready."
He cursed to himself, putting down his sandwich.
Just be careful.
He lifted his eye into the scope. It was going to be a while.
----
"It's clear, where are all these guys you were telling me about?"
Officer Pirini said into his communication.
"They should be up ahead. Just keep moving."
The team rounded a corner, they were slowly moving up the street towards their projected location.
"How did they recon all of those possible locations so quickly?" He asked, just trying to make conversation.
"Well, I think we just are taking all the buildings large enough to house a few hundred people." The medic said back.
"Oh joy." The Officer said.
Another street until their location.
"Alright, get into cover, meet up on the opposite of that street, you need anything, just say my name."
They filed out, getting into shadows and buildings.
Minutes later, they breached their projected building, and no one was inside.
"Patch me through to Command, will you Tom?"
"Sure thing, Officer." Tommy typed a few commands into his keyboard.
"Sir?" Officer Pirini said into the computer.
"What is it?"
"Me and my team have finished early, requesting permission to advance onto proposed location number two ahead of time."
"Fine."
The Commander was gone.
"Alright, you heard the man, lets get moving." He turned to his crew.
The engineer took the lead, and they moved down the street.
Another curve, and the engineer moved around the corner.
The next thing the Officer knew, a barrage of bullets flew past the corner.
Contacts. A lot of them.
"Smoke!" Pirelli called out.
Three smoke grenades rounded the corner.
"Frags!" He shouted.
More grenades filled the area.
"Move up!" He shouted, whipping his gun from around his shoulder. He dove to the ground as his soldiers streaked forward.
More rounds were fired off.
"Got one!" Tom shouted out through the chaos.
"How many contacts?" Pirelli shouted out.
"None! Two running, one down!" Tommy shouted back.
"That was a lot of bullets for three contacts!" The Officer replied.
"They have some heavy automatics." Tommy said back.
"Well they know we are here, might aswell tell everyone that we've got 'em."
"Already on it." One of the soldiers said.
"Let's move up." Officer Pirelli said.
----
"We've been compromised! Defending the warehouse is our top priority!"
The commander of the Gold Army units in the area was shouting out orders over the microphone. They were being dominated by the overwhelming air support by the Leorudian Air Force, but they were hitting their own buildings, so they were doing some damage to their targets. The commander intended on hopping on his helicopter and flee the area, which was being prepped as he spoke into the microphone. Meanwhile Erik Hogan sat on the roof, watching his street. It was then that a group of what appeared to be three armed Leorudian soldiers rounded the corner. His muscles sprang to action, quickly aiming and firing at the man who was in the middle, hoping it was the commander.
Ptt The silencer helped the noise factor as he shot again.
The soldiers instantly opened fire on him, and he scrambled back, reloading his gun, he started to crawl towards the edge of the roof.
They were gone, but there was blood on the street.
He had hit something, but then he scanned the skies, and a heavy plane was turning. So now he was going to run.
He dropped his weapon and ran for the building's exit.
----
The vision of black was replaced by one of red.
"Hit him again!" The medic ordered to the soldier who was standing over Officer Pirelli.
Another needle pierced his skin, and he would survive another few minutes.
In the background he could here that someone as taking command.
"Yes Sir, I repeat, This is Private Thomas Bulova of the 23rd Jerojane Infantry Company. My CO is down, I repeat, my CO has been shot by a sharpshooter."
Officer Pirelli's vision faltered again, but he could make out a reply from his comrade's communication, but that was all he could make out.
Then came more needles.
"Your going make it. Stay with me." The medic said as he put another towel on the Commander's wound.
It was just above the heart, through the shoulder blade, not fatal if he could save enough blood.
His hearing came back for a moment.
"Yes, I am requesting a full air strike on the building North of Melabe Street."
The voice came back louder this time.
"Oh, don't worry, we have all teams on the mission redirecting to your location, and all of our planes are-"
He began to fade again, but this time, his sense of smell helped him.
Burning gasoline and rubber mixed with the smell of blood as his vehicle had arrived.
"Let's get out of here!" One of the soldiers yelled, shoving an arm under his commanding officer.
"No. I'm going for that sniper." Tom stated.
"Are you kidding me?" The medic turned.
Then explosions lit up the warehouse roof, followed by a large ground attack aircraft flying overhead.
"Nevermind." Tom changed his mind quickly, and he pulled the Commander from his feet towards the vehicle.
----
Peter Lepane slowly guided his aircraft around towards the warehouse.
He was a member of the 1st Jerojane Air Wing, one of the more senior members of the squad. He had flown over Wicksteed in a multirole fighter, but he also flew strike fighters, interceptors, and ground attack aircraft, which was the one that he was flying today. He had been gliding in nice circles over his areas, but then some team found the warehouse, and he had to go and bomb the hell out of the place.
One of his multiple superior's contacted him in the cockpit.
"Lepane, you want another pass?"
He said sure, and veered around to go back at the warehouse.
He glided over, pushed a multitude of buttons.
Explosives flew out of his aircraft before making contacts with their targets.
He glided over, turning to go back to base.
In the distance, he saw a small round object floating in the distance.
He grabbed his microphone.
"Do we have any helicopter take-offs scheduled for today?"
A few seconds later the reply came.
"None from what I am seeing, get a shot of it."
Peter flipped his recording device on and captured images of the helicopter rising up in the distance.
"Patching them through to you now."
He sent off the pictures.
"Alright, fly toward it, see how it reacts."
He started to close ground between him and the helicopter, and before long he watched the helicopter finish it's initial takeoff and turn towards the ocean.
Then his superior's voice came back through the cockpit, telling him that he needed to chase it down.
Peter opened fire on the helicopter, but it was already gone, the turret's spray missed right of the aircraft. His superior called back to him.
"Get back to base, we need an interceptor squad."
"Am I involved?" Peter barked back.
"Your the best interceptor we've got."
That was high praise, but because Jerojane was mainly a training base, that wasn't as much as it might seem.
"Fine. Fill me in with the details." Peter asked.
"You will have about three minutes to load up, your plane is ready, and you will have about two minutes after that before it exits radar range.
He turned back towards the base, and he flew off into the sunset.
----
"Let's get out of here!" The Commander of the Gold Army yelled as he ran on foot to the helicopter.
His warehouse had been found, and he had to leave.
He had jumped in a car only seconds before the warehouse exploded and drove to the evac point.
He had made an almost clear escape until one of Leorudo's planes spotted him, but by the time the plane was within firing range, his helicopter was out of range.
He was not in the clear yet, but he could feel comfortable about his situation.
He had a lot of explaining to do when he got back, but that was what a private army was for.
"Sir, we have intercepting aircraft inbound."
He cursed to himself.
"How close are we to being out of range."
"Not far, I'm turning us towards the homeland, but it is going to be close."
Just then, the keypad lit up, missiles were inbound.
----
The Vanguard that Peter was flying now had some get up and go to it. It streaked over the crisp sea air, nearing it's target.
The helicopter was only a couple of inches out of range on Peter's screen, but he was gaining ground.
"How much more radar range do we have?" Peter asked.
"About a minute, but you can do it. This plane goes down, the mission is over. We've won."
So he kept pushing the plane forward.
The helicopter was almost in range.
Three...two...one...
Peter's index finger's held the button down, and missiles sped in front of his plane.
He waited a moment.
Another round fired.
Then it was over. The helicopter was either going to get hit by the missiles, or the helicopter would be gone.
He could only wait and watch.
----
"Right! Right!" The Gold Army's Commander yelled at the pilot.
He could see the missiles' trails coming towards him.
Then the missiles hit, and the helicopter spun out of control at the ground, and it was over.
Meanwhile, the Leorudian Military on Jerojane was celebrating it's first truly successful mission.
"Today, we showed the World that the Leorudian Military doesn't mess around!" Sergeant Mikita exclaimed, lifting his bottle of whiskey.
The men watched replays of the warehouse exploding, and then switched to live time were the pilot of the interceptor was firing off rounds into the night as celebration. It would cost a lot of money, but if any nations had decided to watch the day's events, they knew that Leorudo would protect it's colonies.

"So, Morcavi is challenging me agian, eh?" President Oliver Balone sat in the Velvet Room, leaning agianst a mahogany table that had a history of it's own, but right now it was stuck making the history of others.
He had his top advisors with him, talking about the events of the day.
His question was followed by a momentary silence.
Then, one small advisory spoke.
"He is trying to run Sir-" another advisor interupted him.
"But you are in no danger, Sir."
The President nodded at this. The sad fact was, in reality James Morcavi had over 72% of the vote by some polls, and he only needed three more points to fully over-throw President Oliver Balone, but, most of his "advisors" wanted him gone. He was much to ambitious for most of their tastes.
"So, is that situation in Jerojane handled?" The President asked, trying to cover as many topics as possible.
"From what we are told, it went well." One advisor said.
"Okay, how about New Mathdon and New Undavil?" He asked.
"No change." Another advisor.
"Okay, and the reply to Naitgype?" The President asked.
"I thought you said you were agianst that." One advisor stated.
"No, now go get on it, in the meantime, I need some sleep." The President ended his meeting.

Aboard the Lamine, a Leorudian cargo vessel instructed to deliver much-needed supplies to New Mathdon.

The old grey vessel that was sailing the waters of Atlantian Oceania would not be one's first guess as a canidate to cause an international crisis, but that was of little importance to the crew. Times were hard, and this would get them payed. So they were hired by a private shipping company(whose name had not been revealed to them on basis of security) to proceed past the Valanoran naval blockade in New Mathdon and deliver much needed supplies to the colonists. The contents ranged from medical supplies to large amounts of iron ore, all of which were required for an upstart city. The question would be about Valanora. Would the fire on the vessel? If so, could Leorudo or it's allies have time to respond? Leorudo had ships guarding the port itself, and neither side had fired on the other, but that did not mean that the cargo vessel was safe. The sailors had been instructed not to let any non-crewmen to board the ship until they were safely anchored in the portgate, no matter what side they were on. So the ships continued through the murky blue waters, having little to no idea what would happen to them.
----
The citizens of New Mathdon were getting restless. They had been waiting in defensive positions for weeks, but no attack had come. However, they had been cut off from the usual noise of planes soaring overhead coming in and out of the airport. No matter what the messeges that were sent from the homeland said, they all knew the truth, Leorudo was scared of the Valanoran Armed Forces. This had led to small substance farms rising up outside almost every housing complex to keep the population fed, while the hydroelectric power plant that supplied the entirity of the colony with power churned out what was needed to keep fresh water running for most of the people. Nevertheless, it wasn't easy knowing that at any minute a hostile army could ruin everything that they had labored to produce for the past months. An intresting messege had been recieved by the colony in the recent days, however, and it said that a cargo ship was being sent through the blockade to help them. The messege also said to be ready incase things got messy, but help would be on the way. From whom? The citizens already knew Falcania had helped them out of an economic hole, but would the superpower extend it's own armed forces to defend them? Unless there was something they were not being told, it did not make much sense. No matter, the crops were not going to tend to themselves.

"And that, my fellow countrymen, is how we create a better Leorudo!" A single man standing alone in front of a microphone spoke defiantly towards a cheering audience. James Morcavi was campaigning with a vigor seldom witnessed in the Leorudian Quarterly Elections, and the public appreciated it. With the help of LDI public relations persons that seemed to dislike his opponent, he was taught how to appeal to people. From when to smile to how to dress, he was taught it all. Right now he was in the Viridus town square, and almost two thousand people had gathered to listen to his speech. He touted his personal success while tastefully bashing President Balone's blunders. He was doing all he could, and he could only wait and hope for President Balone to push his own supporters over the edge.

A knock could be heard on the door of Administrator Browne's office. He paused, wondered who the blazes it could be, and then let them in. About 25 members of the elderly community burst through the door.

'Erm, what do you want? Also, who are you?'

'Your Administrator Browne, aren't ya?'

'Well, yes, Of course I am. Haven't you seen me on the news? The posters?'

'Yeah, we have, and we've got a bone to pick with you!'

'Well, you can't just burst into my office like that, but I'll let you proceed. What is it you needed?'

An old man chimed in from the crowd.

'Well, we've been seeing on the news all this talk of Leorudo, and It's been ages since anyone's done anything. And we at the National Union of Retirees are sick of it! You should do something!'

'Union? I didn't even know there was a union... Regardless, what do you want me to do about it?'

'Get grabbin' some land! We want somewhere to go on holiday!'
'Yeah, what about that New Almintora place! That seems nice!'
'Yeah, how hard can it be! Send some soldiers in!'

Andrew slammed his hand on the table to attract attention, as the crowd of pensioners was getting distracted.

'No! That is NOT how we operate! And besides, you are a tiny fraction of the public! If more were on our side, then maybe. But I am NOT invading a city just so you can chill on a beach! Can't you go to Burgess?'

'Well, yeah, but it rains there. New Almintora is near Vilita. Ah, Vilita. I wanted to retire there someday. The weather is so much better!'
'Hear, hear!'
'Hey, why not invade Vilita?!'
'Ooh, yeah! Down with Vilita!'

Andrew had had enough of these overly patriotic pensioners.

'No. There will be no invading. No "Milita in Vilita". Enough. Please, leave.'

The party of old people left the building, escorted by guards.

'Blimey. Old people are far too opinionated. However, that has got me thinking...'

Andrew took out his dictaphone and made a mental note.

'Note: Syndicatians want a new holiday spot. Supposedly. Nothing has gone ahead in diplomacy talks. Seems easier to market Burgess, but we could try and assault Leorudo. Kick start something. Have a talk about it in The Forum. Speak to Chris and Steve about it too. But, how can I make this seem just? Fake attack? Maybe. Speak to SMOD.'

Donald Secladius had felt some what "out of the loop" during his stay in Wight. He was thankful for his tent city, but he felt that the Wight government would sooner or later kick him out. He had not been told very much about what was going on and no real plans had come to his desk. Yet still, he had faith that the righteous nations of the region would come to his assistance. Reports of Valanora besieging one of Balone's colonies had come to his attention, and from what the Wight television was showing, these poor Leorudians looked like they were in little better shape than his fair citizens in Little Leorudo. Soon enough though, the situation became silent and life remained the same. He knew Wight was not much of a military force, but he thought that enough nations would be on Wight's side by now so that they could muster some force. Then he had an idea.
He called an assistant into the room. The man entered the room in a standard military uniform.
"Mr. President, what can I do for you?"
"Son, I need for you to contact Wight's foreign relations director, I need to contact the representative from Austenursey."

Austenursey was Leorudo's much larger neighbor to the north. While trade was in high demand during Secladius' time as President, he had a feeling that they would not be too happy with Leorudo expanding so quickly. While he assumed he would get a similar response from Starblaydia, the current information suggested that the Purple Giant was not interested in the little mountain to the West, and if they were, they would have done something by now. While he might have missed out on Starblaydia, Austenursey, he believed, he could still bring into the game.
