Okay Guys, I'm going to try something a little different this time. It's going to be the Atlantian Oceania Open Wheel Championships and I want to run them through BatRacer. To sign up this is what you have to do. (These are step by step - simple instructions - they look long but its really not)

1) Go to the BatRacer Website
2) Register, if you've not yet done so
3) Login
4) Choose Game -> Private Games
5) Enter Game Id: 6476
6) Scroll Down and Create a New Team - Do Not Join an existing team!
7) Choose your Personal preference of Real Life Car, Engine, Tyre and Home Track
8) Choose a Flag that most closely resembles the flag of your nation in NS
9) Select your preferred personal charatceristic

Then, this is the semi-important part!

1) For player name, type the name of the In-Character driver of your Racing Team!
(It may suggest you use your Real Name - Don't (unless you want to) - Just use an In Character driver for your team)
2) For Team Name, Enter your nation name, and just your nation name (Not including your Title!)

IE: "Bedistan" or "Khazaron"

The password to enter this game at the bottom of the page is "aoowc"

--------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------

That's it, once you've done that you're in. And believe me, it's a 45 second process, I just didn't want to leave any screen during the signup process untouched.

I think this will be a fun way to hold the competition, and hopefully it will promote more quality RPing as opposed to cookie cutter RPing due to the fact that the results are generated as a result of your own input and not a modifier due to your RP.

The way the thing works is, you log in to the Batracer database each day (if you'd like) and set up your race car. It's a 3-5 minute process on a daily basis if you want to get the optimum setup, but the actual race sessions only take place every other day, with Qualifying on the offdays.

You can also upload customized paint schemes for the race car to show during the race events. I will post the results here daily if requested for those who may not want to set the car up daily - but the users who do log in to set up the car are obviously going to do a little better.

-------------------

Due to a limited number of Garage Spaces at the racing facilities, the current Atlantian Oceania Motorsports Championships : Open Wheel Championships will be limited to 16 Nations. In light of the restriction of Nations in the field, the AOMC has decided that the top 10 Nations in the final standings will be guaranteed a position in AOMC II. Should one of the nations that finish in the top 10 in the Open Wheel Championships not be able to field an entry for AOMC II, then the position will be offered to the 11th placed team in the AOOWC standings, and so on down the line. Otherwise, Nations such as Hypocria who were unable to compete in the AOOWC I will get priority for the the remaining six space in AOMC II, with any remaining places being awarded to interested nations based on placement.

Iobabao to pilot Vilita & Turori Entry

The Vilita & Turori Open Wheel Racing Team announced today that Jericei Iobabao has been named the driver of the Vilita & Turori entry into the newly formed Atlantian Oceania Open Wheel Championship. Iobabao, a relative of former Turorian National Football/Soccer player Kaboafo Iobabao, has recently been excelling on the local circuits throughout the Vilitan Cove Open Tour, and while many will feel that perhaps a Vilitan based competitor would have been a better choice, The VTOWR will be standing by their decision to select Iobabao for the inaguaral AOOWC.

In addition to his obivous driving skill, Iobabao is also very adept at working with the crew chief to properly set up the vehicle for the Qualifying and Race Sessions. The team will begin testing for the opening race today.

Falcania opens sporting arms to region once more

Having sampled the chalice of football and found it not to her taste, Falcania is once again to participate regionally, this time in motor racing. Julian S. Marquis, reknowned serial car thief and mechanic, has agreed to represent the nation in the championship. How he fares against the likes of Patrice Belair, Julius Trafanor, and track favourite Jericei Iobabao, remains to be seen.

Engine failure tragedy, poor start for Marquis
Falcanian racing driver Julius Marquis suffered a humiliating last place in practice today. The Jay Industries engine burst into flames on his second practice lap, leaving his first and only practice lap an embarrassing +7.983 seconds after the leader. Ben Johnson, test driver for the team, said later "Julian's an aggressive driver and the car simply wasn't up to scratch. We're hoping to get through the qualifying slightly gentler."

Beauracratic Mistake makes Milchama Hetz va Keshet

In a bad beaucratic mess up the Warrior Peoples of Milchama will be represented as Hetz va Keshet. The most successful (and famous and only) carracing squad in Milchama was going to represent them anyway. However, what was not expected was that the name of the Milchama was going to be Hetz va Keshet. The leader of Hetz va Keshet explained the error this way, "We heard that there was going to be a AO racing championship and we decided to join, obviously. Then the government told us to name the team and we named it Hetz va Keshet. Only after we had already submitted the entry and verified everything did they come and say, 'call it Milchama' So we're stuck with Hetz va Keshet."

This mess up has led to confusion among the other teams but the authorities are trying to notify everybody who Hetz va Keshet is An anynomous person said, "Don't Worry they'll all know soon."

OOC: Hetz Va Keshet is Milchama. I didn't read all the instructions and that's what I got.

OOC: Stupid thing the Az-cz team's racers name is Rk-Mrs, not Rk Mrs as it stupidly says. So adjust accordingly.

IC:

Rk-Mrs announces his entry into the AOOWC. Although racing has no popularity in Az-cz he is a bit of a rebel and having done some travelling in his youth has gotten hooked. Although he isn't a top end racer he is a consistent steady racer who rarely gets in trouble on the track. He is looking forward to battling his fellow AO racers.

Gunther Schwarz Takes The Wheel for AOOWC

And for the umpteenth time, Atlantian Oceania is opening up for the start of another region-wide sporting championship. This time, we'll watch as different teams from different nations race head to head on the track. For Geisenfried, the runner will be a Mr. Gunther Schwarz.

However, Schwarz's first run met a fate similar to the Falcanian competitor Marquis. On the third lap of testing, a tire blew during a turn and sent Schwarz careening into a wall, leaving his qualifying time at around +5 seconds from the leader from Vilita and Turori, making Marquis the only person Schwarz is in front of. The team has stated that the car is expected to be fully repaired for the first race, but a lack of practice time may cause the team to suffer.

(OOC: Since I can't edit...)

Schwarz practice gets back on track

It appears that after some quick fixes, Geisenfried driver Gunther Schwarz managed to get in a later session after problems with his first couple of sessions. With this new set of practice runs, Schwarz shaved a couple seconds off of his time, but is still a bit far back, with most of the other competitors within a second of the leader Iobabao from Vilita/Turori.

Iobabao fast out of the blocks

Vilita & Turori Open Wheel Racing Team driver Jericei Iobabao has sent a message to his Atlantian Oceania counterparts after his practice laps in preparation for the opening race of the season at the Paradise of Surfers. All 5 of Iobabao's test runs were clocked in faster than his nearest competition, Oleg Hatzeganov of the Hetz Va Keshet coalition from Milchama. The slowest of Iobabao's 5 practice runs was clocked about six hundreths of a second faster than Hatzeganov's best lap, a time of 1:36.240 which currently sees the Milchaman second in the practice charts. Iobabao's best time, a lap of 1:35.357 sees him nearly 9 tenths of a second clear on the practice charts after 9 competitors have gone, and certainly one of the favorites in the upcoming qualifying session.

BazSports News Update.

In an unprecidented move Bazalonia has infact submitted a driver to the Atlantian Oceania MotorSport Championship. Robert Anderson, Bazalonia's most infamous driver has signed up for the regional motorsport competition. The Bazalonian MotorSport Commission (BMSC) initially refused to take part in the AOMC in response to the policy of using controversial took known as 'batracer'. Unfortunately no one outside the Motor racing community has any idea what this tool is. In fact it was Robert that lead the charge for the BMSC to change it's mind.

Exactly how the BMSC changed it's mind is a bit of a mystery, an un-named source within the BMSC suggests that some photo's where involved but we have not been able to obtain the photo's of questions. As to the content of these photo's we can only speculate.

In practice a minor engine problem has ceased Robert's practice. It is not a major problem but has cut his practice short, it was on his second last lap. I have Robert here with me.

So Robert, what happened?

Well, as I was going around the track there was a problem and the car just started to run away from me, there was a problem with the acceleration. I had to shut the car off and wheel the car back to the pit. The car will be fine for qualification but yeah, we could have been better

Iobabao takes Race #1 Pole Position

Vilita & Turori Open Wheel Racing Team driver Jericei Iobabao has clinched the first ever Open Wheel Championship pole position with a lap time of 1:33.847, backing up his performance as the fastest driver in the practice session. Iobabao was the first driver to take to the track, and posted a nearly untouchable lap of
1:34.611 to open the session. Oliverrian rider Patrice Belair came close to knocking the Vilitan off the top spot with his 1:34.623 lap, but les francais was unable to take the track for a second crack at the pole position due to mechanical difficulty. It looked as if Iobabao had the top spot and 1 bonus point locked up, until Casari's Kraig Fitzimmons, the last driver other than Iobabao to complete his second and final qualifying lap, turned in a 1:34.392 to move into the top spot. Vilita & Turori would not be denied however, as Iobabao returned to the track a minute later to trounce the Casarian time, taking the top spot with a lap over half a second faster than the nearest competitor with the final qualifying run of the session.

Lei-Laz
Aj-Ft

When asked his strategy for the upcoming AOWC, Rk-Mrs replied simply "Three". Nobody could figure out what he was talking about, so we pressed on for further information. Eventually he told us that his strategy involved a series of near misses. "The ideal thing to do is take third in just about every race", he informed us. "Look at that Iobabao guy from Vilita. Already everbody's bullseyed him as the racer to beat. They'll try to slow him down in races and who knows, might even try more devious things to sabotage him. We don't want that. The plan is to try to stay in the mix but out of the lead until right at the end." Because we didn't have any other famous Az-czid drivers to scrounge up to ask questions, we went to kleptochase star Tex-Mex for his thoughts on that strategy. "Madness. The kid is clearly bonkers. That's probably why he went into car racing as opposed to a real sport like kleptochase or football. If you've got a chance to win, you take it, even if it means you become the target." He explained. "I was the dream win on the kleptochase tour for years, but I never worried about it. Any strategy that involves losing shows a clear lack of confidence. Just a sad statement." So there you have it. Either Rk-Mrs is a crafty cunning cat, or just a moron. Of course, giving a way his secret probably makes it harder for him to win. Oh well. A reporter's job and all that. Now we just sit and wait and find out who's right about this whole thing.

Criticism of Chacor entry into AOOWC

There has been heavy criticism of the Chacorian entry into the AO Open Wheel Championships. Many are unhappy that the government of Chacor has seemingly tried to use the AOOWC as a political tool by entering a native Djacor-Rysonian, Kristjan Durant, into the competition as the competitor for a "Chacor-DR" team.

While the team name does not fully reference the renegade province, many see this as an attempt to harmonise the breakaway region with the rest of Chacor, and the Chacoran Motor Association has filed an official complaint with the Chacoran government. However, this is not expected to change the Chacoran government's mind.

The Chacoran government said in a statement that the government "still, as it has always done, recognises Djacor-Rysonia as part of sovereign Chacor. Kristjan was chosen for his skills, as he has proven himself in race testing in the Liverpool England National Racing Series. The Chacoran government refute any claims of political usage of an international sporting tournament. Indeed, our backup driver, Janislav Modry, is a Crna Gora Liv Eng/Chacoran national, to show that we are not biased towards any one particular entity."

Durant, 22, who lives permanently in Schimpol, Liverpool England, refused to comment at the first qualifying session of the season, where he qualified in 13th out of 16 cars.
