Common Short Form Name: Carrar
Capital City: Davnon
Political Geography: Carrar encompasses 3 provinces: Darin, Seren and Arnorth.
Population: There are roughly 60 million people 97% being natives and 3% being Meridian immigrants. Meridian is the only country allowed to enter Carrar because of their political and Economical ties.
Physical Geography: Carrar is most noted for its beautiful environment and friendly but patriotic citizens. It is an economically weak nation with only 2 major cities and a scattering of villages. It has varying scenery; with rain forests and the Regun-Gee Lake covering its south west province of Darin (the mining companies are taking many precautions to leave the forests intact). The Plains of Daun, named after the victor of the battle of Seren are completely flat grassy plains with The Anstrume river flowing through the entire nation, the plains are located west of Darin in the province of Seren. The last province is more of a mix of the two with plains, valleys and forests. The giant mountain of Risige cover the coast making it extremely hard for a shipping or fishing industry in the northern area while Seren flourishes in those industries. The mountains do give Carrar a great defense against any naval attacks. Arnorth is the province of both of Carrar’s major cities.
Rivers and the Major cities: The Anstrume River which flows through all of Carrar and finishes into the sea with the Anstrume waterfall is a spectacle not to be missed. The capital of Carrar, Davnon is a completely fortified city with 8 foot thick steel walls surrounding it and gun turrets placed on the wall every 5 feet. The other major city is Nornan which is built completely inside the Risige mountains, what the city is like no outsider knows for only privileged citizens can enter.
Language: Official language is Carrarien, which sound somewhat like Latin however the citizens are forced to learn English because of its popularity in Meridian and the world.
Government: A Corrupt Dictatorship, ruled by a powerful yet caring dictator that focuses on keeping the environment. The Dictator uses different parties to run provinces however this is constantly changing on his whim. The 3 parties at the moment are the Green, Seren and Drai parties.
Religion: Carrar has its own religion focusing on the Goddess Seren who created Carrarion. The Government continues to try to bring in new religions but the people reject them preferring their legends.
Law and Order: Carrar has no major police force to say. The CLE (Carrarion Law Enforcement) does little for the nation because they mainly focus on their major and important cities leaving the rest to deal with their own problems. Carrar hopes to improve this with the support of their allies.
Military: The military is composed mainly of people from Daun and use gorilla warfare tactics to attack and defend themselves. Their artillery is completely supplied by allies while the rest of their weapons are smuggled in. They deploy their military all along their borders and in the Capital city.
Navy: Most of Carrar’s money goes into its navy for they believe if they defend the seas nothing can harm their nation. The Navy is amazingly technologically advanced and environmentally safe (doesn’t use fossil fuels to power the ships). No nation has yet penetrated Carrar from the sea. With about 400 billion crowns a year spent on ships and a navy of over 327 ships with thousands of volunteers.
Air Force: Unheard of.
Economy: The Carrar economy is still developing. All businesses are owned by the government. Mining is beginning to increase the economy’s stability. Fishing and trading are the biggest industries. The government beginning to a create book publishing industry on the people’s demand.
Culture: They are a nation the shares with its people and their allies but views the rest of the world with suspicion. The main body prefers being ruled by the current dictator because of the nation’s growth in the past 8 years. Everything is very cheap and money is not a problem. They strongly believe in their religion and treat Celebrities like gods.
People: Those lucky enough to be in a coastal or major city are completely un-oppressed and enjoy all freedoms. They are polite, kind, well educated and are not forced to follow all laws set down by the dictatorship. Those in small towns and villages are starving, forced to follow all laws, oppressed and routinely dragged from their homes to join the powerful navy or smaller army. There is currently an attack on the Capital from these under privileged people. Who were willing to take the abuse but when the organ donation law was put into effect (is in direct violation with their religion) they revolted. The Government quickly discarded the law but the 28 million citizen’s momentum could not be stopped. Meridian is constantly sending troops to help to stop the conflict with as little bloodshed as possible.
Basic History/Mythology: According to the religion the original Carrarions (means: peoples of glory) were cast out of Paradise by the Titan’s who they had offended. They were left to survive on earth (which was just water back then) and somehow managed to stay afloat with little food for 4 weeks. On the final day of the fourth week the Goddess Seren felt pity and created a land for them full of plenty. They called it Seren (the Goddess later expanded it to what is now Darin and Arnorth. She looked after them as long as they followed her laws. This stayed like this for 400 years until a servant of Darin disobeyed one of the most sacred laws (that law has been lost) and caused Seren to retreat back to Paradise in anger. 9 centuries later she returned and cast her revenge almost wiping out all of Seren but the Titan Carrarion intervened and saved them. The land was renamed Carrarion and they now worshiped both God and Goddess (in legend Seren and Carrarion married). During this time the world had grown as other gods, goddess’s, titans and powers formed new land and their own people. In Carrar only 2 centuries after our almost demise we offended the creators again and were almost destroyed but a man Daun went to speak for the people. Nobody knows how it happened but a battle began between Daun and Carrarion it lasted 8 days and finally Daun emerged victorious. Near death Daun begged Carrarion to forgive the people one more time and they spoke for 2 months on top of the mountains of Risige. Little is known of what happened but being vanquished by mortal man Carrarion was forced to return to Paradise. Seren disappeared, not to be seen again (recent activity suggests that the government has found something related to Seren in the mountain city of Nornan) and so the creators never returned and life went on. Daun became the most famous and powerful king of Carrarion and his line continued for many generations but were murdered by a power hungry politician who assumed the throne. He was thrown from power just a year later and Dictatorship was accepted.

Carrar/United Meridian International Relations
First Contact: United Meridian, back in its days of early exploration, came across a Carrar exploration ship. The ship, which didn’t bear any form of flag or international identification, was assumed to be a pirate by the UM ship (the UM, due to its mercantile nature, had a passion for the destruction of pirates) and immediately attacked and annihilated the vessel. Carrar, receiving this as an act of war, launched a counterstrike against the ISUM and the Carrar-Meridi War began, lasting 7 years and mostly being fought on the open seas between the 2 countries. Both Nations reacted to each other’s increase in navy and continued to make huge advancements in naval technology much quicker than thought possible. Though Carrar’s navy was larger than Meridi’s force, Carrar was under funded and unorganized, 2 things Meridi was not. Seeing the possible rise in Meridi power or the possibility of a even longer stalemate of uneeded death the Carrar dictator decided to reopen diplomatic relations with Meridian, and the Meridian City Conference (between the ISUM government and the Carrar diplomatic package) set up the long lasting (even up to today) Carrar/United Meridian alliance that has shaped the way both countries run.
