[IC/OOC fusion] Contributing to the Alliance Building initiative by Starblaydia, and thinking about my forthcoming WC RPing, I have a mind to invite all and sundry to Wight on diplomatic missions. My plan is to write a short bit of RP after each home game, as the President-Dictablanda will have taken his diplomatic guests to a game while they are in town. This might then be something to work on as part of the regional diplomatic activity.

From Wight's perspective, this is about sounding out the regional players and getting a feel for where our foreign policy direction lays.

You might send a monarch or elected head of state, a foreign secretary, an ambassador. You might not send an official envoy but a head of intelligence, civil servant or adviser acting in an unofficial capacity. You might officially snub the invite ICly but have an opposition leader, rebel commander or head of the trade unions to come against the wishes of the state.

If you'd be interested, can you post here (or TG in NS I guess) who would come (name. role, capacity), and what their motives might be (so far as what they told the government of Wight, anyway, which might be far from the true reasons). Any detail appreciated, backstory, character type, etc. You can throw in RP permissions if you like, but with or without, I'll not be assassinating anyone or holding them to ransom. Not this time around at least. It's more an opportunity to continue this alliance-building conversation, in an IC setting.

Thanks in advance for any contributions, and don't hesitate to ask probing questions or advise me if this is a stupid idea...

Do you have a current embassy program? Might be worthwhile getting involved and having the ambassador to Wright as our delegate

Yes, perhaps I'll set up an embassy programme. Naturally it will be shambolic and only fit for the world's least-liked diplomats, a place to send that civil servant whom everyone wants to see the back of.

Embassy Programme

Lovely shore front properties available, in the Cragoe district of scenic Spit, up in the northerly parts of Wight. A short dash to the government seat at The Spittle House where President-Dictablanda Jean Baptiste manages the daily affairs of the syndicates of Wight.

The Foreign Minister Tariq Hashashin, he of the Halal Butchery fame, invites nations of AO, of all persuasions and leanings, to join in an embassy exchange, in order to advance understanding and shenanigans between peoples tall, short, wide and waifish; and every degree in between. Anthropomorphs of any flavour are also welcome.

Comfortable accommodations will be arranged in the hastily re-purposed Diplomatic Quarter of Cragoe, Spit City. And free tickets to Wight World Cup matches at The Tricorn Arena with complimentary corporate packages.

No elaborate application process applies - send the government a note that looks notionally legitimate and move in tomorrow.
