Anksgaard
The Dwarves' Republic of Anksgaard is communist nation populated only by dwarves. There is a leader which is the president, with terms of four years. Elections are free and aren't influenced by the media, with the communist party winning elections by very large margins, an average of 37.5647% over their best opponent.
The government controls everything, from whether someone can marry someone else to what the average citizen should eat. There's noone willing to challenge the government, as people live relatively happy lives even though the government controls them. The government is kind with its citizens despite the fact that it controls them, they tend to allow most things. The average dwarf is poorer than the average human in a developed nation, but there's no poverty.
Anksgaard was founded by a group of dwarves around two milleniums ago, however, it was recently recognized as a nation, in 2001. Anksgar history is simple: lots of dwarves got together and signed peace after years of bloody war. They lived in jungles and the fittest was always the leader. The leader used to guide every inhabitant of the now a days Anksgaard. The population was much smaller back then, only 200,000 dwarves. Quickly, under the guidance of their first leader, Xuxmaz Zoumxâ, they got to expand at insane rates. In just two years they got to fund a city, which was much like a village, but was much safer than the jungle houses they used to live in. Democratic elections would come many years afterwards, in 1920, and communism wouldn't win any election until 1932.
Geographically speaking, Anksgaard is a big nation. It is composed 72% by jungles, however. Anksgaard is a nation known for its friendliness to nature, and their love for their jungles. These jungles make the air the Anksgards breathe really clean, and makes their lifespan raeach the two hundred round-abouts. There are two big lakes in Anksgaard, the Xozyâ lake and the Fuxyzâ lake, one to the west and one to the east. All the water the Dwarves drink is taken from there, it is said that it's the main reason, along with the pure air, for the dwarves' long lifespans, even if that's expected, as they're dwarves.
Anksgaard's capital city is Xâ (northern coast), other important cities include Zoux (eastern coast), Xýez (western coast) and Zhuâ (southernmost Anksgar land).
The government is mostly pacifist and will almost always seek diplmatic solutions to anything. It doesn't despice capitalism, everyone in the government sees it as a plan B, should everyone become poor enough to require capitalism to kick in, and once again have class difference.
Anksgaard's flag is different from the others, it's an almost perfect square. The green cross means the jungle, and the blue background means the sea, as dwarves love nature.
But, what does Anksgaard mean? Anks is a word in old Anksgar which would be translated to new Anksgar as Anx, which means jungle. Gaard would now be translated to Gâ, which means land. That means Anksgaard means jungleland and can also be written as Anxgâ.
