Introduction and history
Secundus Kasius is a sprawling mass of huddled boroughs, interspersed with small areas of accidental natural beauty. It has been “united” for 95 years, since the infamous Domito Haxtes led his forces against the other cities within the land of Kasius. Since then the Haxtes family has led with an iron fist, controlling the nation through a combination of oppression, law, and a vast lack of social mobility. There is a large amount of in-fighting between those in line to the Secundus Kasius throne, and as such rulers do not last long – Domito Haxtes was replaced by Laevis Haxtes within five years of unification, who met an unfortunate accident at the end of his reign. Sicara Haxtes is the current Unifier, having been in power for ten years.

Official Language: Latin is the official language, but due to the education system's format most of the nation speak Kasian, a more lyrical version of English, and leftover from pre-unification days
Official Motto: “Libertas in Fiducia” roughly translating to freedom in security
Official Animal: The black dove is the official animal of both Secundus Kasius, and the Haxtes dynasty. It was once white, but the over-industrialisation of its natural habitat caused it to evolve a hue better adapted to its environment.

Suffrage: none
Judicial System: Petty Court for common disputes, Duke's ruling for more serious borough disputes, and Haxtes judgement in matters of treason. There is also a culture of community justice amongst the common populace.
Opposition: Rare. A handful of underground groups call for either democracy or a return to the times of Kasius, but these are highly illegal and the punishments are harsh.
Economy
Wealth is divided mostly between the elite of Secundus Kasius, with the rest of the nation facing significant poverty.

Drug use: No official laws on drug use – abuse of recreational drugs is rife amongst the general populace
National Pastimes: These include gambling, a vast television culture, storytelling, and sport. Amongst children, it is common to find them pretending to work or playing war games. Gang culture is rife.
National Sports: The common populace play indoor sports, as there is not room outside, whilst the elite have entire acres dedicated to various games and matches. Due to the lack of literacy, rules vary often in the common populace, and therefore different streets have very different variations of games, which can lead to fighting or even riots. Names commonly attributed to sports include football, tennis, and rounders. The elite have a stronger grasp on game rules, and may be seen playing polo and betting on races, in addition to the other sports.
Education
Education for most of Secundus Kasius is limited to what the citizens will need to work hard for their nation, with on-the-job training and courses available only if they are lucky enough to gain a promotion.
