Geography:

Lemurian Oceania is a small island of 16 400 squared kilometers. The centre of the island is hilly and mountainous, the highest point at 500 meters above sea level. There is a bay on south face of the island, where the capital, Marino, is located. The climate is tropical, with heavy rainfall almost everyday, and high amounts of sunshine the rest of the time. The Island is covered in dense rainforest due to the climate and environmental protection policies.

History

Lemurian Oceania was discovered 200 years ago by sailors from the Lemurian Islands (in the region of Atlantis) who were exploring the region of Atlantian Oceania. Their ship was slightly damaged in a storm, and they stopped there to make repairs. Some of the crew were so impressed by the beauty of island (and some say, its economic potential) that they decided to stay and build a trading post, that is now known as the city of Marino. They named the island "Lemurian Oceania" in honor of their homeland.

Lemurian Oceania became an important stop in a trade route between the Lemurian Islands and the region of Atlantian Oceania. The island became a colony of the Lemurian Islands, and many citizens settled there. The structure of the Lemurian Oceanic government was based on that of the Lemurian Islands.

Lemurian Oceania stayed a self-governing dependency for many years until just recently. Several years ago, the bloated, inefficient central government of the Lemurian Islands collapsed due to strategic terrorist attacks. Soon afterwards, Commander-in-Chief Thorne was appointed leader in an emergency decision by the surviving members of the senate. It quickly became evident that he was a tyrant and the citizens of Lemurian Oceania wished to have nothing to do with him, and the Lemurian Islands. Independence was declared and a constitution was drawn up.
