Government
Voting System:
Leader - The leader is decided by a ritual procedure. On the day that the sun is lowest in the sky, all of those wishing to be leader are taken to the High Council in High Valae, where they enter into a shouting contest. The entrant with the loudest voice is granted leadership of Garundia for the next year.
Parliament - The parliament meets at the High Council daily. All of those who wish to attend can do so. Every inhabitant of the island is given 10 days holiday from work that can only be used to attend the High Council.
Armed Forces
Garundia's army is formed of civilians. They do not have weapons - except in cases of national emergency - as they cannot be trusted with them.
Overseas
Garundia can seem like a hostile place to outsiders - especially as none seem to have ever even come to visit. They islanders have basic fishing boats, but have never had need to leave any further than for this purpose.
History
People are not entirely sure how Garundia came into being. They just know it is there.
National dress
It is normal for the people of Garundia to be naked, except for the men wearing hard leather pouches to protect their man parts, while women wear specially constructed bras if they are heavily-bosomed, and protective wear around their other lady parts when required.
Sports
The people of Garundia play a football-like game amongst themselves. They call it kick-ball. The rules are similar, except there are no off-sides and only the feet and legs can be used. This has been played on a sand/dust based pitch.
Other things
Garundia is a small island nation, seated around the base of a volcano, largely thought to be dormant. The people are a long lost tribe, thought to be remnants of an old volcano.
The society is noted for its sexist hostility. This can even be seen in the names of people - male names must end in a vowel (surnames in two vowels), whilst female names are limited to consonants only.
The people of Garundia are simple and often deceitful - whether this deceit comes from the poor education or is calculated and deliberate is not entirely known.
