PEGROLISIA (LRO) -- Pacitalian big-box consumer electronics giant Anda (PAX800: AD, 19-Dec: Đ 44,37 up 0,84, 1-year: up 23,6%) announced Monday afternoon it will open six new stores in Bedistan, with two opening by the end of January.

Residents of Bedistan's capital, Columbia, have been curious as to the two mystery big-box developments being constructed for the last month, but Monday the "coming soon" signs were erected and the confusion allayed. These two stores are expected to open 20th January. The downtown Columbia location, estimated at a whopping 220,000 square feet, will be Anda's flagship store in Bedistan.

The other four stores will open before the end of March, with one each in Sonoma City, Hampton, Port Lusambo and Griffin. Anda has not said whether it will open more stores in Bedistan, but only confirms the original six stores will all be operational by the end of spring.

Supplementary to Anda's announcement of its Bedistani expansion was its second press release naming a Bedistani ex-patriate businessman the Senior Vice President of Bedistani Operations for the company.

The expansion to Bedistan is part of Anda's plan to expand to four international markets -- along with the Grand Dominion, the big-box retailer is looking to expand to Nova Moepoeia, Sarzonia and Starblaydia with at least one store in each nation by June 2007. Anda hopes to have one store each in at least sixty percent of Atlantian Oceania nations by 31st December 2010.

Anda is Pacitalia's second-largest consumer-electronics retailer, with 182 locations in six provinces. Established in 1976, Anda employs 9,809 full-time and 11,449 part-time workers in those stores and has market capitalisation of Đ 596,5bn, complementing yearly revenue margins of over Đ 550bn. Anda is consistently listed in the top 10 of Pacitalia's annual Best 50 Employers To Work For list, scoring 97% on its Employee Equality inspection in 2005.

Pacitalian electronics chain sets up shop in Columbia

COLUMBIA -- People have been driving up and down 16th Street for over a month noticing a particularly large building under construction a short distance away. Now, finally, the mystery of just what that building is has been revealed. The signs now proudly proclaim the newest location of Pacitalian big-box consumer electronics giant Anda.

The 16th Street location, as well as the one on Old El Paso Road just east of its interchange with X40, are currently scheduled to open for business on January 20. The downtown store weighs in at a hefty 220,000 square feet, making it the largest electronics store in the nation.

Consumer reaction to Anda's arrival in Columbia is highly optimistic. "I go to Pacitalia every year to visit my family," says Columbia resident Andrea Fiammolo, "and they live just a few blocks from the local Anda. It's really a fantastic place to shop, and I'm truly thrilled that they're finally coming to Bedistan."

In addition to the two Columbia locations, Anda will be opening four more stores in Bedistan - one each in Sonoma City, Hampton, Port Lusambo, and Griffin. Whether Anda will expand further in Bedistan is unknown at this time and judgment will likely wait until the existing six stores have opened. This is the first time Anda has opened a location outside Pacitalia, and it will effectively serve as a trial run to see whether the chain will see continued success in international markets.
